    @@jupitermoongauge4055 Haha !! Just my opinion. Everyone has their own taste . But to me .. I can’t think of anyone that could do it all as well as Gary . Blues, rock, metal, jazz. Any style . He was a true master . And technical ability.. not even Hendrix could match him . There’s lots of good players with fast fingers and technical skill .. but they don’t have the feeling and fire that Gary’s playing had . Joe bonamassa is a good example of this . Technically skilled and great .. could probably match Gary Moore note for note on most things … but his playing is missing something. Just doesn’t have the heart and grit like Gary did. He melted faces with his shredding, and then could give you chills with the blues licks he layer making his guitar cry.. That’s just my opinion, but I truly can’t think of another guitarist that could match him. Jimmy Page will always be my favourite guitarists .. but he could never keep up to Gary . That is a fact .

    How can someone who is respected worldwide be underrated?

  • @slsw1560

    @slsw1560

    @@johnlannikk2701 Gary is 'respected' and appreciated by those who know him. However Gary is not a 'household' name (he didn't want to be in the public eye so he was fairly private), and if you ask people if they heard of Gary Moore more times than not people will say, "Yeah the guitarist in THIN LIZZY."!! Pretty sad considering Gary only played on one full album, 3 demo tracks on another studio (where the solo was only left in the released recording), and two songs on a live album (as a guest appearance).PEACE

    @@johnlannikk2701 Appreciate the response, your comments and the 'wikipedia link', however I am not sure how 'wikipedia' really states that Gary was a 'household name', afterall 'wikipedia' is a resource for anyone / anything on the planet. I have attended quite a few concerts and my collection is very diverse as well as a larger quantity in size and so I have also grown up with Gary Moore! I talk to tons of musicians & fans at concerts and I always bring up Gary Moore as being my personal 'favourite guitarist' (as well as in my opinion the GREATEST Guitarist of All-time, and the most 'COMPLETE' Guitarist), and often their first response [with the exception of several Guitarists / Musicians], is, "Gary the guitarist in THIN LIZZY." ***Even in certain parts of IRELAND the response was the same! ***To me it doesn't matter that Van Halen, Vai, Satriani.......are more household named guitarists, I will always spread the 'Gospel of Gary'! Take Care John! PEACE!

    @@slsw1560 Well we obviously both respect and admire Gary and the same with me, I have their originl vinyl 'Skid' and '34 Hours' saw Gary play with Skid back in 70. and I must have played 'Felicity' 5000 times since. I pride myself on getting quite close to that technique he used on that track which I never thought would happen but youtube has helped immensly!. I see a lot of comments about 'Underrated' and it sparks my response because to me it means absolutely nothing! You've made it if your a 'Household Name' ? No you've made it if you are genuine and your music comes from your heart! then that reaches those that listen with their heart, that is the true communication of music.
