Спорт

Welcome to the second episode of Shadow Talk, the podcast hosted by six-time Mr Olympia winner and founder of nutrition and supplement specialists DY Nutrition, Dorian Yates.
Shadow Talk is an insightful podcast series that aims to answer the question: How can you be a better version of yourself?
Dorian welcomes guests from across the world, to not only talk about fitness and health, but how to mentally and spiritually improve oneself. Dorian’s next guest is biologist and bio-hacker expert Gary Brecka.
With more than 20 years of Bio-Hacking and functional medicine experience, Gary is obsessed with the function and performance of the human body and finding innovative ways to help people achieve absolute peak function in their own bodies.
He works with a hand-picked clinical team of Board-Certified physicians (M.D.s), PhD researchers, business leaders, functional medicine experts, motivators, and scientists with one relentless mission. Ronnie & Jay have won Arnold's lifetime achievement award, when is Dorian going to win this award or is being associated with Mike Mentzer hurting his chances. I personally would give Dorian this award for being a speaker of the truth and helping people and not being marketer and promoter type.

    Dorian is a very intelligent and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and how the body works (The mechanics) from his Body Building experience, he is well informed from the many books and magazines his read throughout the years also communicating with other people and I believe Dorian learnt a thing or two from Gary Brecka. Keep up the good work Dorian the more information you share the wiser we become.

    Thanks for these Podcasts! A small pattern that I'm noticing in G.B.'s Podcasts appearances is that he must make sure to never answer a question upfront, but only after some elaboration. "Hey Gary, do you like apples or oranges?" - "Well, first of all me must define in what way you mean 'like'? Is it the fibre-content, or how they can be stored without spoiling or maybe vitamins per price or per weight? I mean, both have fructose and we can speak about that, too. But yeah, in general I tend to like apples more. I mean it would probably be a good idea to first check your genetic markers first and then we can see if you should eat apples or oranges instead."

    Excellent podcast so far. I am about 25 minutes into the podcast and definitely enjoying it. There was one very good oil that Gary forgot to mention and that is macadamia nut oil. In my opinion it is the best healthy oil there is. Better than olive oil, and has a higher smoke point which makes it ideal for cooking. Also more monounsaturated fat in it than olive oil. Another unknown fact is that a lot of olive oil, that you see in grocery stores, it’s not actually pure virgin olive oil, but rather a blend and it is not mentioned on the bottle 😳😳 I use macadamia nut oil to make my eggs when cooking on stovetop and when I cook my chicken breast in the oven. Much better alternative to cooking spray or highly processed canola or other seed oils 😊👌🏼💯💯💯💯

    Podcasts hosted by Dorian Yates could become THE podcasts for bodybuilders who care about the why and how of what they do (i.e., the science) -- even for people who just want to live well, given the aspects of science progress we can now enjoy... hi. as i watched in blood and guts videos, dorian did 4 exercises for chest, 3 for bicep, 3 triceps, 4 lats, 3 hamstring, 2 rear delt. but when he trains others, it's a little bit lower volume. just 3 exercises for chest, 2 for bicep, 2 triceps, 3 lats, 2 hamstring, 1 rear delt for example. which one did he do? which one should i do? doing the lower volume, am i hitting each muscle with different angles enough?

    Excellent episode! I hope more of the 'gym bros' can give this a listen and take into consideration the life extension tips here . Many of these points apply to the gen pop audince. Particularly the last segment of the interview. How western society is extremely under-muscled and domesticized due to the circumstances of a fast n busy life. As a PT for most of the middle age population, I've seen this first hand year after year. From West Coast to East Coast. International and domestic. It's the same all around: High junk food intake with very low physical activity across the week. The ideal balance would be the opposite of that. Great episode once again, DY! Keep these coming 👊

    Hay Dorian, do think Monday back , shoulders , and biceps tues legs chest and triceps off wed then repeat Thursday and Friday would be a good workout for a 60 year old, or do you recommend just your 4 day a week split hit routine would be better for recovery, thank you

  • @DorianYatesNutrition

    @DorianYatesNutrition

    4 ай бұрын

    Given my experience and approach to bodybuilding, I would lean more towards recommending a 4-day-a-week split HIT (High-Intensity Training) routine, especially for someone in their 60s. The reason is simple: HIT focuses on maximum effort for a shorter duration, which not only is effective for muscle growth and strength gains but also allows for more recovery time, crucial at your age. This approach can help mitigate the risk of overtraining and injuries, which become more of a concern as we get older.
