“The competition is NOT on the stage. That’s the end result. The competition is every day DAY IN, DAY OUT that nobody actually sees”. This really resonates with me!! With my wildlife photography it’s similar. It’s the preparation, the miles of walking to the destination where the animals are. The knowing your gear and the concentration needed to create the finished photograph that people love. Thanks, Dorian, great podcast as always. Can’t wait to see Lee Haney on one day!!❤

Everyone who is great at what they do has one thing in common. Surprisingly, it is not talent or determination, these are common but not universal. Universally, they have a simple and actionable way of thinking about what they do. This lets them focus on what is important so their effort yeilds results. Dorian is the most concise thinker on body building and his explanations always display deep understand distilled to their essence. He is a great for a reason.

There's something about Dorian's storytelling that is so good, what a great interview! I loved that part about the anti-estrogens. I had a similar experience using a 19-nor only base and paid a bit of a price. Bodybuilding has come a long ways but I still love the 90's era, he's right when he describes 90's desire in the gym. BIG was in, but I can appreciate Dorian's different identity. In our eyes he's still in essence BODYBUILDING.

17:05 damn it, I really hoped he would answer what was his treshold of taking steroids. Nasser El Sonbaty said the most he took was 5000mg of test without other compounds. We understand that genetics play a huge roll and building muscle takes time, but I wish they would just say how much steroids it took to get Mr. Olympia title. What was their max.

It's awesome to see Dorian's brand really start to crossover onto the mainstream's radar. One of the most dominant bodybuilders of all time should be a household name like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Derek Jeter. He certainly is held in that regard in this house. This shows how different every individual is regarding the usage of drugs and I think that trial & error is king but it is good to have general knowledge about the subject before you start experimenting on yourself 😅

I love these podcasts, and this was a very good one!! The only thing that annoys me little bit is I hear a lot of the same questions; ‘what you do differently’, ‘who’s better todays guys or the 90’s etc etc. I want to know things like how was the diet, when did he have a relaxing meal (every week or two etc when in the off season) what did he do to kill time back in the day when not training (e.g video games, pick kids up from school , what’s films etc. what did he think of victor Richard’s when he saw him, was he as big as they say, was vi bigger than Dorian, does he think box in shape do well in the mr.o. There’s so much more to know, but it’s about asking the right questions

39:20 Myostatin regulate your ability to put on muscle, it also is regulates connective tissue. lower myostatin = more muscle (belgian blue)but at the same time it lowers the proliferation of tendon fibroblasts. it's an inverse relation it's actually genius
