I'm not sure if anybody in the comments knew but she kicked cancer right in the backside. Last update I could find which was less than 2 years ago she is still in remission. I just wanted to spread the good news.

I am from Oklahoma and have loved Garth's music for years. This man is so humble most people have no clue, I have had dinner with this man at his home and its an occasion I will cherish forever. I may have been in foster care but I was fortunate my social worker was a friend of his and his family. Moments like this are so rare, but it just goes to show how awesome Garth is.

I'm from North Carolina. While working on contract as an ICU Nurse in Tulsa (and living in Owasso), I met him in, of all places, a line at the pharmacy. lol. Took me a long beat to recognize who he was, since he was in jeans, boots and a baseball hat. Nicest, most humble "celebrity" I've ever met, and I have come across several "celebs" working the hospitals in Los Angeles - some good, some bad. Garth is absolutely at the top of the list of the lot of them.

On February 15th the love of my life left me after a 10 month valiant fight against cancer. If she would have lived 2 months longer we could have celebrated our 53rd anniversary. The first time I heard this song was after she had passed and it brought me to my knees. Now i have the words to say what I wished to say to her. "I could do without this terrible pain but honey we had one hell of a dance.

At 9 years old, I watched my hero, my best friend, my grandpa, slowly dwindle away from lung cancer. I was literally with him, nearly every day, from a baby, until his death in 1999. I looked to him, like he was superman. My grandpa had a rough childhood. His step dad kicked him out of the house, when he was only 12 years old, for absolutely no reason. But he survived on his own, and later in life, ended up owning his own earth digging business, using CAT tractors. I remember sitting on his lap, and he'd let me drive the tractors. He'd have to haul the tractors on a trailer, pulling them with his semi trucks, and a lot of the time, i'd ride with him. He also sang, and played guitar, in a little band, with his friends in his little music studio, that he built on his property. He loved Garth Brooks. When he got sick, it was the most horrible thing to see. No child should have to see something like that. The cancer metastasized to his brain, and he'd forget who I was, who my mom was. He eventually ended up in a medically induced coma, in a hospital bed, at his house. My mom, and dad had divorced when I was a baby. My grandpa loved my dad, and never stopped loving him, even though him, and my mom hadn't been together for almost 10 years. I remember my dad taking me to my grandpas house, where the whole family was, and my mom came out, and asked my dad if he wanted to come in, and say his goodbyes to my grandpa. My dad came in, and laid his head on my grandpas chest, and cried. That's how good of a man my grandpa was. Everyone loved him. God bless to anyone battling cancer. You are in my prayers. You got this.

My dad died of cancer 5 months ago, while he was in the hospital, I was hopeful that he would just have to go through a procedure as he had in the past and we could take him home from the hospital. During the time we were waiting on the tests and blood work, I would feed him Jello or pudding cause that was all he could eat. He thanked me and told me he loved me and I wish every day that I could have him here with me and my mom and the rest of my family. This song had no meaning to me before, it was just a great Garth Brooks Song now this song has a different meaning and i would love to dance with my dad again as i did on my wedding day and cancer sucks! I use to say my dad lives with cancer, well cancer is such a vicious roommate and takes away the best people in the world. I love you daddy more than every tear that falls from my eyes

I have to watch this every once in a while, just to see a true STAR make a real difference in somebody's life. Do something that matters. And this mattered to that one single solitary woman. That's what it's all about man.

I remember the first time I ever heard of Garth Brooks, I watched a vhs tape that a friend gave me to watch. Garth Brooks live in “Central Park”. This was when it wasn’t cool for a person in NY to admit that he might like country music. 300,000 “fans” and everybody knew every word to every song. To this day, the greatest performance I ever saw bar none. He is a great man…..

Amazing! Many years ago I worked at a radio station. Garth was fairly new. A friend said he and the guys on the bus were playing football at a park in the next town over. A few friends went over... played with him and the band and hug out in the bus for 3 or 4 hours. They said he was the nicest, most down to earth guy you could meet. I'm so happy for YOU!!

I noticed a lump in my throat one day while using an Oxy pad before bed. Turns out, it was Stage 4a thyroid cancer. It was also Bethesda VI cancer, the most aggressive kind you can get. It only took two months to go straight for my brain, had I kept my original surgery date and not got bumped up a few weeks I wouldn’t be here to type this. I had a brain aneurysm two days after surgery, a second 14 hour major surgery kept me alive. I was given so much radiation I was radioactive for three days, I couldn’t be around another living thing for more than 15 minutes without putting them in danger. All that… and I’m halfway through my 5 year plan and I’m fighting and surviving. Watching this video has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
