Garth Brooks sings "The Dance" to cancer patient at Minneapolis concert

Музыка

Nov 7, 2014 -- as the final song of the night (and the 3rd of 11 shows at Target Center), Garth Brooks ends by giving a woman battling cancer the night of her life! He notices the sign of Teresa Shaw, which says: "Chemo this morning, Garth tonight. Enjoy the dance", and he walked over to serenade her from the edge of the stage. He gave up finishing the song to give her the guitar right off his back, as well as an embrace which ended with a kiss on her forehead, leaving those in attendance to finish the song in unison. Garth then held up her sign and proclaimed to her (and all those in attendance): "God just stuck his hand out! You have all my strength, you have everybody's strength in here, and you go kick cancer's ass!"
It was truly a moment I will NEVER forget.

Everyone on my father's side of the family has passed away from cancer. I have had cancer twice in my arm and was told that i have the cancer gene in my blood. Watching Garth Brooks display his act of kindness to that woman with that sign about her battling cancer and he stops his song in the middle of his concert and hands her his guitar and told her to go kick cancer's ass was the most powerful thing I've ever seen !!!!! I have been to many many concerts BUT,,,,,"""NEVER""" have I seen an artist just stop in the middle of a song and concert and give all the focus on a fan. For him to do what he did, hug her and give her his guitar was just soooo POWERFUL !!!!! G-D BLESS YOU GARTH BROOKS !!!!!!

This reminds me of my wife and Mark Wills. She was going thru breast cancer treatments and feeling really low. My wife is a big Mark Wills fan, and by chance I met his sister in law and asked if there was any chance he might do something to cheer her up. He sent my wife some cd’s and a letter of encouragement. I don’t know if these folks realize how much that can mean to someone at the moment of their greatest fear. Thank you Garth and people like Mark Wills for taking a moment of your time to really make a difference. I know to many it doesn’t seem like much, but to someone facing their greatest fears, it can mean the world. God bless.

I'm slowly watching my mother die from cancer. It's so damned hard watching a proud, hard working mother who has given everything as a single mother, to me and my brother and all of our boys. Some days she prays to die and some days she fights like a tiger. Me and my brother are both musicians, we grew up on Garth, and All of our 6 boys play music and our grandkids are all showing signs of music. She's raised 3 generations and put up with so so much. Thank you Garth for the memories, and it's so true...." I could have missed the pain, but I would have had to miss all the times I got to dance with the beautiful Lady I call my Mother". 😢😢😢❤❤❤

Garth is a great American hero of mine. What gets me is how the other music, like the dark metal and goth and even rap promoting gangs and rape can thrive in a world where good exists so strongly. It must mean that people are misguided and led by the other evil things and some like Garth see the good and that is their song. Too bad the other people are lost in evil messages.

For those with good health , they can learn to feel compassion, empathy and care towards those who are sick, and dying, many nursing homes, and hospitals have lonely patients , pay them a visit, you would be suprised, there are young to old in nursing homes, some have had accidents and end up there, others, alone, they like little presents, magazines and sometimes a chat, smile and hug, many elderly in America are very lonely.. I hope the lady on here with cancer beat it and is doing well. If anyone smokes, quit now. I have 3 friends die of LUNG Cancer over past 4 yrs. I really like this video-I love a celebrity who still cares about his fans and people in general, But I don't see why god had to be mentioned, if the god he believes in or claims to believe in was all loving and compassionate-then why is there cancer or death or any disaster? There is a time and place for "god-talk" and a public concert is not that place.

Hey Gravel, have you ever had a "positive impact" on anybody's life while living your "faith". Faith in anything? God, the Devil, Humans? His impact, through his faith in "SOMETHING" has brought smiles to thousands, including those desperate kids in Children's Hospitals....Maybe someday you or I might be so blessed? Be glad somebody is willing to share his "GOD" given talents to better this increasingly ugly world?

Not to mention, a lot of his songs are about or mention God!! If that lady he was singing to was offended by that or anybody else I don't think they would go to th concert, nor should it come as a suprise. He is a Christian and is very open about his faith. So I don't quite understand why his concert would be inappropriate setting for "God talk.
