I dunno. I feel like S&box will need a long time to build its brand of the sandbox spirit & personality that GMod had built if it's going to be a successor. The loss of connection to HL2 and other source games might not help either for some of us. Maybe it's the familiarity; GMod was built off of HL2 and felt familar & accessible based on that. S&box doesn't have this grounded feeling, being made as an original game on its own. Probably just the nostalgia also getting at us in this aspect

@domehead6422 S&box is gmod's successor, it will be able to do anything gmod could have while also having most of the features of a full game engine.

@@npc_citizen9276 I dunno about that, it might be a matter of time until we discover than source 2 is just as spaghetti if not worse. That's kind of the deal with games as they keep coming out, the newer the game the more they try to put into it and the more they try to put into it the more code and the more code the more likely its spaghetti code

We need source 2 and half life alex for gmod, cuz it can be really helpful and making mods will way better as well!

@@2KDrop it's been a while since I've read up on it too but garry was pretty adamant about it not just being a "gmod 2", since it seems a little more focused on making full playable games rather than just the gamemodes and addons style of gmod. Nonetheless, yeah it's effectively a spiritual successor.

Why the hell are the ui and menus so bad? Did they suddenly forget how to design good menus? I mean the physics, features and graphics are obviously a upgrade but the ui and menus are terrible (and arguably the play model depending on your opinion).

Gmod is not better like every thing gonna be better on s&box for the developper to the player. Like today when you play a gmod server full (like 100 tio 120 player) even on a map of 2x2 km² (i think that is the max for source 1) its lagging but on s&box even if we don't have proof for now the maps gonna be bigger, and the player will not even lag.

@@extro1335 players will still lag, you might not have a computer that can handle lots of people or the server might not handle it because optimization can only go so far

Yeah that sure that some people will have to up there PC to have good performence in this new game but for the one that have good PC they will not be limited because of the game (like with gmod everyone have bad perf because de the game is old)

One thing I can't get behind for s&box is the ugly ass player models. GMOD uses source player models which look cool and I wish they got the permission to use HLA models for S&box.

s&box good successor to gmod but i really do hope we can get a source 2 port of gmod
The s&b gun sound is horrendous, the ragdolls and a lot of props lack weight to them making them feel way less realistic and comfortable pushing around

S&sandbox вытягивает хоть как то на нормальную игру чисто из за движка соурс 2, графика и разрушение шедевральный, да. Но в плане хорошей песочницы где можно хорошо развлечься над постройкой, рп или просто перестрелкой будет гмод. Я считаю что игру надо доработать до того, что может сделать прорыв в плане песочницы. Игра хорошая, но очень сырая

S&box и не задумывалась как песочница. Это площадка для создания игра на подобии Roblox. По сути это и есть Roblox, но для аудитории старше 8 лет

Извиняюст, слышал об этой игре как "Гаррис мод 2" пару лет назад, тогда видел маленькие отрезки из игры, не понравилось и закрылся сейчас смотрю, думал игра давно вышла.
