I bought my Garrett Ace 250 last week and have used it four times so far. For beginners like myself I highly recommend starting at a beach, because digging is so much easier there. This will save some time and frustration, especially when you don't find anything interesting. Also, for Garrette Ace 250 users from Europe, I highly recommended the following discrimination setup, when looking for Euro coins and jewlery: Use the custom mode, and eliminate everything left of the pull tab symbol. Let the detector search for everything on the right of that symbol (all seven bars on the right) After some frustration in jewlery mode, I was really successful with this setup. It saved me a lot of digging for trash. Also, if you're willing to spend the extra money, I highly recommend a pinpointer. I do not have one yet, and it is sometimes really difficult to find the thing you were digging for... Hope that helps:-) Greetings from Germany!

Good informative video. I've had my Ace 250 about 4 years but hardly used it. Now l'ive retired and moved near the Blackpool coast in England i've more time so i'm going to try the beaches. Who knows who's been on these beaches hunderds of years ago right up until now ? makes you think doesn't it.

I’ve just retired, live in Manchester and taking my ACE 250 to North Wales beaches on Friday with my 84 year old dad. Like you I’ve not had much time to use the 250 but now I have. I’ve had it for around 5-6 years purchased from Kellyco Florida, it’s a great detector.

Very good video just got mine and it was extremely useful

Part4 If you're referring to the part that leans to your elbow or near it then I think that it's a armrest type thing. It apparently comes with a strap so it keeps your arm in place

The coins mode will just locate hundreds of aluminum pop can pieces . It will find coins but after you dig a thousand holes for aluminum.

Use custom eliminate all of the left icons from the pull tab only have the right 7 icons right of the pull can top that should do it bud

What country is this machine originally designed for? I'm in Canada and when I sweep any coin its erratic, I the machine won't determine what it is...its bouncing all over the place! Yours aint doing that! Does it sound like i have a faulty coil? Its new out of the box..also when I sweep any one item, its giving me all 3 ring tones on the same item at the same time. Plus when a strike a coin against the bottom of the coil, its showing a depth of 6-8 ". And to top it all off, when pinpointing, its way off to the side instead of being in the middle of the search coil where it should be! Should I through this $225 piece of junk out?

Use the "All Metal Mode". Gold will sound like a strong nickel signal 95% of the time. however, really thin gold rings will sound like the 1st pull-tab signal next the nickel signal. Most silver rings will sound like a 50-cent piece and the detector will literally vibrate because the signal is so strong. I've found 11 silver rings and 5 gold rings in wet sand (Galveston, TX)

This thing can find gold and silver also... it will likely mistake aluminum for silver though... you are best to calibrate it to what you are hoping for, or to exclude what's so common that you can't follow up with all the hits. Just set up a test basically... Don't bother asking if it will indicate according to its own scale; instead hold the metal you want up to the coil, and study the signal, and filter in what you want - filter out what you don't... if you are looking for 14kt gold alloy then calibrate it on that. If you are searching on artificial landfill with concrete you will have to filter out the iron/steel. It all depends. Just wing it, basically. I've used this exact model. I'm telling you what worked for me so far.

Yes it will pick up gold. I've found 5 gold rings and 1 gold earring. Gold always sounds like a strong nickel signal.

Don't bye 250 metal detector as its scrap iv been metal detecting for 25 years and if you don't want a pissed of don't go near it
