Garmin EDGE Map + SIX Data Fields // MapDashboard ConnectIQ Data Field

Спорт

The MapDashboard ConnectIQ Data Field allows you to display SIX configurable fields in a single Edge screen data field. Adding this to the Map page makes for one of the most useful ConnectIQ add-ons I've installed on the Edge cycling GPS units in a long time.

    Just given it a go on my 530 on a timely, unfamiliar 3 hour route. Worked really well, even on such a compact unit, with the headings hidden setting on. Really handy to be able to keep an eye on the route while being able to clearly see power, speed and distance etc. 👍

    I used Erik’s 4 data field dashboard last year in a stage race. It’s great for focussing on navigation and a few key metrics. I also added Titan Lab’s Kommander to my bars so I can switch data screen easily (because I have a SRAM Red & it has no Shimano-like buttons to control Garmin screens on my shifters ☹️ - a miss by SRAM).

  • @shahedameer

    @shahedameer

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you use the synchro-shifting mode (at least that's what it's called on Shimano Di2), you can use just the right shift levers to control both front and rear derailleurs (the fronts will shift once you hit a specific rear gear that you configure). That frees up the left shift levers that you can configure to control your Garmin Edge (switch data screens, etc). Works great

  • @davet003.5

    @davet003.5

    Hi @@shahedameer - SRAM’s system doesn’t offer that functionality. It broadcasts a lot of data to a Garmin head unit but not a command to cycle forward and back on Garmin screens.

    I wrote an app/widget, GRouteLoader, that downloads routes and locations. It's kind of like the RWGPS app but works on many more devices and the widget version works when recording an activity (There is no RWGPS widget version and the RWGPS app isn't available on the 1030+ and watches, etc). My app combines the functionality of 4 apps and it's fairly easy to club schedules on the devices and let members download the routes for those rides. One reviewer called it a "Swiss Army Knife". (I'd include links but Google is trashing comments with links. Err.) Look it up in Garmin IQ. I have a link to a website that has even more details (and screenshots). (Mapdashboard is the greatest thing ever.)

    Can you do A review on OSPW SYSTEMS . If you gain Some watt with that system yes or no and is it better 4 mountainbike than 4 Road cycling. Because I see now Some big mountainbike name’s running Ceramic speed systems on there bike.Making there bike ready for the cape epic.

    They look good IMO but I would only use the watt gain as a way to convince myself (and my Min of Finance) that I NEED the bling. $/W takes OSPW to the back of the “bang for buck” list. But don’t let logic prevent you going that route if you have the funds.

    Initial testing was inconclusive in the Lama Lab. Let's say it's a 1-1.5W saving at 250W.... that's not easily detectable with the power meters and smart trainers we have at the moment. Not without a LOT of repetitive testing.

    If you dig into the settings, you'll find an option for the Edges to take a screenshot when you press the power button.

    Yes, it is. If you search for it in the IQ store, there's a tab for compatible devices.
