just got a Garmin 95sv, Can't wait to fit this unit to the boat. the saying . Practice makes perfect. I'm setting my unit up on the table get some practice in.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzread.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I wonder if the new gt56 transducer is going to change the game at all. The GPS 943xsv provides higher resolution screen at a lower price, yet it can utilize the gt56 and is compatible with livescope. Dnt thoughts?

Hey mate. I ordered a second harness and found a 240-12v power supply to suit. Oh problem is you can't set up sonar unless the transducer is plugged in.

So you can’t even use in demo without transducer?

I have just purchased this unit and am waiting for it to arrive. I see there is only one SD slot on the machine. If I were to get the G3Vision chart that provides depth shading, does this mean that I cannot map my own features with active mapping? As far as I know, you need an SD to save your own work, so it seems it is impossible to do this if you are using the G3 Vision chart. My current plotter/sounder is the Garmin 3006C. It is still a good plotter, but I have decided to upgrade my electronics as technology seems to have moved on a bit. Also, do I need to connect a separate antenna to this new plotter or can I connect it to my old machine through NMEA and it can get it's positioning from the older unit and it's antenna?

at 48:30 you mention the scroll back feature to pinpoint a show on the echo sounder and place a mark on it. Is this only available if you're recording or is it a standard feature of the unit? Does it work with traditional sonar?

Question if you don't mind., is there a way to add or change different information such as time, GPS speed p, water temp etc to a chart screen or sonar screen

On the chart screen can you set the depth in the top left the same as the sonar screen?

Had to throw my brand new echomap 75cv uhd back at garmin, the heads under the water where i fish were too far out in fact 1300ft from were they should have been, back to my echomap 70s which is bang on.

You need to use a pencil on the touch screen, so we can see the screen past your ham hands!

Any 12v battery. I hooked it up direct to my truck for first-time setup with the included power wire.

Hello, just wondering, I have a new pontoon on order (my first boat) and the 95sv is being installed per dealer recommendation. Lake Nippising in Ontario is huge but shallow (average 15 ft) and rocky in various places. Will this unit as a depth finder "look ahead" and let me know danger is close?
