I so much NEED this. So, it is the card that allows auto-routing. I was at Bass Pro and the sale dude said, Garmin, not possible.

It can add the auto routing capability but not on every Garmin unit. You will need to check for compatibility.

I dunno half the things this thing can do but it accurately tells me the depth and I can watch my crab pots drop into the sea. Also shows you the fishies swimming around under you - I’d get it again in a heartbeat

I have the same unit, but it seems I can't just "load" the card into the sd slot. It wants me to pair with Active Captn app (which I hate).

I’m looking at buying a used echomap 93sv. It has Lakeview g3 on it which I have no use for. If I buy the only the Bluechart g3 Vision (for the Chesapeake Bay), will that give me these features in the video ? Or will I have to buy blue chart g3 first, and then buy bluechart g3 vision also

The G3 vision chart should be all you would need but you would need to keep it loaded in the echomap while using it.

hello please help me! I am a new owner of a Garmin Ehomap UHD2 92 sonar, I don't understand much about this device. I also bought a new Bluechart g3 vision Southern Europe VEU723L v2024.0 map. The problem is that when I turn on the sonar, I don't see relief shading in the map menu!!! My question is, am I stupid and don't know where to look for this, or is the problem that the card does not have this extra for Europe. it only opens 4 menus for me: 1.Fishing Chart 2.Navigation Chart 3.Mariner's Eye 3D 4.Fish Eye 3D. But there is no Relief Shading !!! Why?

Great information. Specially since is my playing grounds. Looking to upgrade my Lowrance HDS5 and interested on the Garmin 94SV ($799 on special a BPS now, amazing deal). But friends are reúne Lowrance HDS9 is better because I can use 3rd party chart cards while I can’t with Garmin. Any input will be appreciated. Again, the $799 is hard to beat but I want to see your opinion. Thanks

You can't go wrong with either they are both excellent and capable displays. The HDS does have wider chart compatibility, and if you plan on using other third-party charts, then it is the better option.

I have now updated My Garmin 95sv with relieve shading but cannot see it when the simulator mode is on, so not sure if it is downloaded.

Sorry it is not going smooth for you. Have you tried Turing the simulator off and scrolling to the area of coverage. When there, zoom in through all ranges and see if it shows. If not I would then call tech support when in front of the unit and have them walk you through the settings.

I have a 9" UHD Garmin plotter with a G3 chip but I do not have the relief shading as yours does. All the other features are included but not the relief shading. Should I try the reset? Thanks, would really appreciate your advice. Steve

thanks for reaching out. If you have waypoints and tracks you want to save you can back them up to a memory card and then do a reset. If that doesn't work try calling Garmin Tech Support at 1-800-800-1020.

I Ilike the avionics app too and have used it a lot. It is similar in some ways (auto routing features) but adds features the Navionics app does not have such as the different depth perspectives it offers..

Thanks and great question. If you have an autopilot aboard and it is connected to the GPS Chart Plotter display you can select a waypoint or rout on the display and hit the nav button on your autopilot and it will steer that course.

I’m confused, maybe you can help. Do you need to buy/install the blue chart G3, then buy and install the blue chart G3 vision and install that as well? I can find any garmin with buluechart G3 already installed.....

It can be confusing. Many Echomaps come pre installed with Bluechart G3 cartography. The second number in their model name, for example the Echomap UHD 94sv, the 4 in the number designates that it comes pre loaded with Bluechart G3 cartography for US coastal waters. If it were a 93sv it would have inland lakes called LakeVu pre loaded. If it were a 95sv it would have Canadian LakeVu charts pre loaded. The 92 would have a base world map pre loaded. You would add the Garmin BlueChart G3 Vision card to add all the features I mentioned in this video. Without it you would have just the preloaded cartography that some with the display. The Bluechart G3 Vision card will wok regardless of what charts are preloaded in the display. I hope this helps.

So the most cost effective way to get blue chart g3 vision is to order the “N”4 with bluechart g3 (coastal charts) preloaded and then also purchase the blue chart G3 vision card as well. I was hoping the blue chart g3 would have all I need but apparently not. Thanks much for your help

@@lmay4642 Many people buy the Echomap with pre-loaded charts first and then decide if they need the Bluechart G3 Vision card. Without the vision card you will not have dock-to-dock auto routing in machine or some of the other features mentioned in the video but you will have very good fishing and navigation charts. Some feel they do not need the added features the G3 Vision card offers. Hope this helps.

@@lmay4642 you can buy the world map version with no blue charts pre loaded and then purchase the Bluechart G3 Vision card for your area. Doing it this way you will not have any cartography in areas outside of the Vision card you purchased but will have everything you need within the G3 vision cards boundaries. I have seen the version with pre loaded G3 cartography for less than a world base map version so it may be worth getting that version and adding the G3 Vision card to it. Doing it that way you will have cartography for areas outside of your regular boating waters, should you travel to them.

On Mariner Eye 3D does it adjust based on tides too?

I don't believe it does. The numbers are based on the mean low tide depths from the bathymetric charts.

If you have the G3 Vision card installed on your plotter, does this mean you can't save Quickdraw maps at the same time? The plotters only have one card slot...

You can record to the machine's internal memory and then load onto a card at t later date/time.

" I have 93SV. How do you save Quickdraw maps when Vision+ card inserted? Can the Vision+ be removed and still use navigation, etc? thanks

I bought this card for my 943xsv and put it in my card slot and it does not come up. I also downloaded my area on the active captain and it shows on my map but not on my chart plotter. Im so frustrated. Can't get it to even show up in my charts. In A.C. under "one chart" it shows the card and says inactive. As of now I would not recommend garmin to anyone and I'm not new to GPS plotters as I have owned 5 from various brands.

I understand your frustration. I would recommend calling Garmin at 1-800-800-1020 while in front of the machine. They may be able to resolve the issue over the phone. If not I am sure they will replace the card.

It is not a year to year subscription. You can purchase the card or a download from Garmin's website or a card from a marine vendor. Then there are updates available online at Garmin's site, if you wish to update them at a later date.

Do you leave the micro sd card in the Garmen or remove it.

You will want to leave it in when using it. The data will not load into the display so you will need the card in the Garmin to be able to use its data.

I would suggest contacting Garmin at 1-800-800-1020 with the model of plotter, software version and serial number along with he model number of your card. They should be able to help.

No need to activate the card, just plug it in and use it.

Geez, in this day of technology these cumbersome devices are still produced. Garmin charges us loads of money for the devices are so slow and with hardly any processing power. My mobile phone is 8 X times faster . Paid £1k for a chart plotter that still thinks twice before acting on any key presses... Yawn

This chart sux, I had a programmer charged $49 to put in my unit and still think it’s a rip off. Don’t see why anyone paid $399 for this junk. Strikeline have way better maps for $239. Garmin might face some lawsuits soon regarding to disabling the 3rd party map capabilities. Beside the panoptix, nothing is good bout Garmin except a bunch of dumbass noobs rooting for it. Definitely won’t buy another Garmin ever again.
