Not to counter your great suggestions, Reggie ... But, the VERY best way to use garlic is to ingest it raw ... NOT cook it ... in order to get the fullest benefit of its healing properties. First step is to peel one clove, crush it, and leave it to aerate on a ceramic saucer for 15 minutes ... which releases its healing enzyme "ALLICIN". I usually use a rice cake, add sesame butter and Manuka honey (both of which have antibacterial qualities), spread on the crushed garlic ... and eat that every two hours. This keeps it in your system on a regular basis ... Even four times a day has amazing results. I healed walking pneumonia in less than 40 hours doing this. As you said, this works better than antibiotics, as it doesn't destroy your valuable flora or have any of the other unhealthy side effects that antibiotics do. It also attacks ALL forms of virus and bacteria ... as opposed to how antibiotics only attack specific pathogens. And by all means, do all the other things you suggest ... adding to soups, etc.

Great comment Thomas. I agree with you 100% about eating the garlic raw. That is the best way. I personally just cannot get used to the taste of it :) That's why I put it in my soup. I know it is said that cooking garlic destroys the Allicin but I found that having garlic in my soup still helped me a lot. Just my personal experience. Thank you.

Hi! I also agree with you on everything you say but some say that after you chop the garlic or crush it, you should leave it to aerate 5 or 10 minutes and others say 15. I’m wondering which is the correct timing?

I was tired of it when I woke up today so I grabbed the garlic I got from my farmers market and bit into a raw clove. I won’t lie. My stomach roiled. It was so acidic on an empty stomach. I drank some water, and 15 minutes later…. I swear to god I feel completely fine after WEEKS of being sick

You did it exactly as I described above, Angie ... which makes it work the fastest. 👍 One clove is a fine amount ... letting it sit 15 minutes after crushing, and ideally not eating dairy of any kind (i.e., butter) when treating lung issues ... as dairy taxes the lungs, ... and doing at least 3-4x a day is best for extreme issues. You feel it's effect by the end of the first day! 😉

I use garlic as an antibiotic almost exclusively. I don't have insurance right now, so it's a must. It's amazing, but sometimes hard to find fresh and not mutated. I make fresh raw garlic water. Peel 2-3 full bulbs of garlic (~8000-12000 mcg activated allicin), and use a garlic crusher. Load the crusher one clove at a time, hold it under-water in a fresh half gallon of of reverse-osmosis purified water, and crush it while under the water.. until all of it is crushed. Stir and let it sit in the refrigerator for ~10-15 minutes before pouring your first cup. You then have a powerful half-gallon of allicin water that's good for ~2 days. I use a metal tea filter and pour cups of this. It's actually a lot more powerful than chewing and your stomach will notice.. I gargle with it and drink it. If you're not used to it, it will take your stomach some getting used to. My stomach is so adjusted to it, so unless I go way overboard I experience no discomfort. I used this method the first time I got COVID as well (before vaccinations came out), and recovered quickly. I'd go through at least a half gallon per day when sick, if not more, to constitute full doses of antibiotic. Allicin has a short half-life of about 2 days, and is basically useless if you cook it. No matter how well prepared, cooking it will kill almost all of the beneficial properties of the allicin. Right now I'm using it to deal with a nasty ear infection.

Yep. Though, I wouldn't take more than a bulb a day normally, if you take too much over a long period of time it can cause liver damage. I'll use ~3 full bulbs per day for a week for an infection, but only for a week. For someone my weight, I'd have to consume ~5 full bulbs per day for a month to start affecting my liver with hepatotoxicity. Or ~25 bulbs per day for a week. But those are ridiculous quantities. People can safely consume a full bulb every day indefinitely for a safe level of health benefits, roughly .25 grams of raw garlic per pound of body weight per day. It got rid of that ear infection I had literally overnight.

  • @davidwalker6960

    @davidwalker6960

    Жыл бұрын

That's one of the reasons I like making the water... I sit and peel 3 full bulbs, about 30 cloves, but it's worth it, and a lot cheaper and more effective than modern antibiotics. Of course the pharmaceutical industry would love to keep that knowledge safely tucked away in anecdotes. It's difficult to extract allicin for use as it has such a short lifespan, so they can't market it for profit, so they try to vilify it instead. They make "liver toxicity" pages to scare people off, but they don't mention that the amount you'd have to consume to even start to become toxic is ridiculous amounts that nobody would do. Who would eat 5 big bulbs per day every day for a month? Even I'm not that weird. After a week (if I used it for an infection) I cut down to 3-4 cloves per day.

Put to boil a small pckg of green pea soup to boil in water with 1/2 spoon of salt until soft, in another pan 1 cup of quinoa to cook in 3 cups of water, When the green pea soup is cooked, wait to get a little cold and then blend on the nutribulet with 5 cloves of raw garlic, put back in the pan and mix with the cooked quinoa, mix on top a little scallions and olive oil, it's ready to enjoy your gourmet soup.

I'm dealing with a lot right now. Went to oral surgeon again today. I've been on heavy antibiotics for 3 weeks, he extended it 2 more weeks, and prescribed another one. The second was denied by VA. He suggested IV antibiotics, since they wouldn't fill it. The ER doctor said I don't need IV antibiotics yet and sent me home with just the original antibiotic. The problem is that in the past 2 weeks the infection has gotten worse, while on only this antibiotic. The couldn't get me in for surgery to clean out the infection for almost 2 weeks, because of the holiday. So I have an infection that looked pretty bad with the imaging the oral surgeon did. I overheard the ER doctor talking with my nurse about broad spectrum antibiotics being needed, but no beds were available. I can't guarantee they were talking about me, but the doctor came back in shortly after and told me the infection wasn't systemic yet, so I didn't need the IV antibiotics yet.

Allicin in garlic (the powerful sulfur compound antibiotic) is only produced by crushing it or bruising it. It's a natural defense mechanism of the garlic. It does *not* produce allicin when swallowed whole, or slicing. Digestion does not produce allicin. Without crushing the garlic, the alinin and alliinase enzymes are broken down and not converted to allicin. It must be crushed/chewed/bruised prior to consuming to be effective. Having said that, I'm glad you recovered!!

Add water off the boil then drink after a few minutes and I make about a pint of it, and would probably drink two of them. In the Dominican Republic what we do is take fresh garlic and cut it down to small pieces (the smaller the less spicy it will taste) and combine it with honey, since both Honey and Garlic are anti-bacterial. 3years ago the wife woke up in pain with a throat bacteria I was trying to get her to take garlic with honey, but she say it hurt so bad that she had to take antibiotics. She did and the pain went away next day, but she had to keep taking the antibiotics for 7days I think to make sure it killed all the bacteria, and if you don't it can come back. On the 3rd day I woke up with the same sore throat but with little less pain, but I was ready and started to take my honey with chop garlic 3 times a day and during the day I would drink warm tea with honey. By the 5th day she started to get this really bad red spots all over her body that were really itchy so she stop taking the antibiotics and the itchiness went away within a few hours. By her 7th day, I had already recover almost 90% and she ended up waking up with the same sore throat. This time she was like F**K antibiotics, give me that honey with chop garlic. Am not saying that antibiotics are not useful, they can be used at really specific situations, but first try natural remedies if you have time. For example, the fact that she was in a lot of pain that she could not take it, for it was reasonable to take antibiotic to take away the pain, but after the pain is gone, then try to go natural.

Great point Carlos. I don't think garlic can cure all infections and I don't think there is a study that will support that. At least I have not come across any. I personally had a bad infection on my finger one time which worsened rapidly and I had to take antibiotics to clear if quick before I risk losing my finger. But for most of the infections I get especially if I just starting to feel something, I eat garlic and it helps. This is the biggest advantage that I see with garlic is that you can take it as prophylactic or at the earliest sign of an infection unlike antibiotics.

Garlic supplements work for yeast infections as well as bathing the area with warm salt water...I kept having recurring yeast and it was only after doing that I got rid of the infection for good..the antibiotics from the doctor only made it come back

Hi Chrystalyn. You can either chew the garlic or chop it up to small pieces so it's easier to swallow. Hope this helps.

It's best to remember however, we shouldn't use and abuse nature's medicine too much or the bacterium we're trying to fight off may grow a resistance.

While you may be right, bacteria mainly becomes resistant to things that are chemical compounds (like antibiotics) and almost never the actual herb itself. Antibiotics are flawed and when you look into the evidence that it has not been something humans should take or have taken long term. Vegetables and fruit have been around since the beginning and never lose their benefits of fighting off specific conditions

Harmeet Singh I’m not a professional I just do my own research. But from what I can tell you is that garlic can bring the symptoms away and is known to cure many ailments. Some studies say yes, some say no. My opinion? If you take it long enough and at a high enough dosage YES... It will kill off infections

Angie A. There are a few possible answers. One is that not all doctors know this. If the doctor is not into natural medicine, they won't know about this. Or if their training is mostly drugs, then that's what they will recommend. Another is that these powerful drug companies send out drug reps to get doctors to prescribe the drugs they make. Some companies even incentivize the doctors who prescribe a lot of their drugs.
