Check your grounds! didn't see it one time. Judging from the video you had spark once every 8 revolutions, should be way more than that. I suspect you have a common ground fault, wire grounds out as the motor shakes. Once the ground completed you get a spark.

It's because the camera is shooting in 30-60 frames per second at a shutter speed of like 1/60th or 1/120th or so. That means if a spark happens faster than that or out of time with each frame, it wont show up. So the one spark we saw was the one that landed at the same time as the camera was capturing that frame. It's the same reason why certain lights flicker in a video, or why screens can look really weird

I had a very similar problem to this on my old 1983 Mondial QV. One bank had died ignition-wise so I traced it to one of the three crank sensors in the bell housing but luckily for me the Mondial model has a test socket not far from the ignition coils where you can “buzz out” the sensors for open circuit and/or their resistance values without taking anything apart. 700 Ohms was a value I had recorded on my notes for a good sensor, the other was open circuit. I replaced the failed sensor and it all fired up ok. Not sure if your 308s have this test socket, but the Mondial has a black cover over it to prevent dirt ingress.

Squirt a little fuel down the throats and see if it fires off... if so then it's in the fuel distribution and or filter? Sometimes when a pump fails it fills the filter full of trash. Personally I would think the issues is in the distribution block valves- That block in the foreground @ 7:25 with the 8 pipes - - I think it's 8 fuel lines from the high pressure pump if not mistaken the injectors take like 5 bar pressure. There is a good bit of work in mechanical injection systems with the distribution spyder and resulting hi pressure fuel lines. - I think the black lines are plastic -which need to be replaced - remove from car - then using a heat gun heat the plastic tube and pull off when they start to bubble. Ultrasonic clean the injectors -

Hello Scott, My 83 QV had the same problem one of those sensors broke as the car was warming up in my garage. Went thru the same steps tracing out everything spark, gas, never even knew about those crank sensors at the time so that sent it off to the shop . You have to check fuel next as I know you already know. Those Birdman fuse blocks are worth it. Love watching your videos, Today my passenger window stopped working in my Testarossa , so that's my next Gremlin. Going back on your video to see how to remove the door panel and lubricate those wheels . trying to keep them all running gets crazy. Something always seems to act up. Love your channel .

I've been through everything that you are currently going through and its a huge, wasteful pain in the rear. I finally came up with the best and most reliable solution; I changed to running an Electromotive brand engine management system. No more stupid distributors, mechanical fuel injection. old school problems, period! You have one simple system that drives your new very reliable electronic fuel injectors and direct coil to plug ignition. No more of these problems, just good reliable fun! it will also increase your gas mileage and drivable horsepower under the curve. It transforms the car all for the better. And it costs less to replace than the stock parts and saves a lot of money over time.

Hi, Thank you for your weekly videos. I can only dream of owning a Ferrari. One more fix to add to your list: New engine cover gas struts. But PLEASE install them with the fat part to the top. At 18:01 there is a 'special tool no.2' supporting the cover...I am guessing that there is no push from the struts and the cover droops. The fat part of the struts has high pressure gas in - and a bit of oil. The oil lubricates the rod and the rubber gas seals. When you (and most other people) put them in with the piston rod going up, the oil goes down to the bottom and no lubrication happens...seals wear, gas escapes, rod is worn and scratched, more gas escapes. Engine cover droops. If you install them with the fat part at the top, the oil flows to the 'middle' of the strut, lubes the seals, lubes the rod and its bearings, gas stays in. Also, as the rod extends, the oil meets a fatter part on the end of the rod, and slows the extension at the end of stroke making the whole setup more sophisticated.

I know quite of few of those 308s were switched to a single distributer setup (was that in america?), perhaps this has something to do with that?

Great troubleshooting episode. Good luck in continuing the tracing. How tall are you? When selling the 308 you should mention that you cannot be too tall to drive it. I am 192cm and I know I do not fit as I tried out a 328 GTS in a showroom in Modena. Half of my head stuck out over the windshield.

He’s not that tall. Watch him next to Jack (Number27) in their collaboration videos. Jack reckons he’s 6’1” and is a tight fit in his 308. Scott is significantly shorter. I’d guess around 5’9” (175cm)

There was a single spark for such a long crank. I don't think you have proper spark. You should look into the engine controller?

you should put your 360 back to std with the parts from the convertible and then build the new challenge shell back up with the parts from your black one to give yourself a genuine360 challenge
