Unfortunately there is no simple answer. Depending on where you live as well as site specific factors e.g. Brick, wood, vinyl or other exteriors - Load bearing v.s Non load bearing wall(s) - Headroom/clearance - Finished interior - 1 car can be 8' wide, 9' wide or other - These can all drastically change the cost involved in completing a project like this. If you have an existing garage door opener you will also need to consider the cost of either replacing with the appropriate length unit or the cost of modifying/extending your existing to match the height of the new door. If you put a 7' opener on an 8' tall door your door will not open all the way.
