- Voltage and Phase (Single Phase 115/230v or 3 Phase 208/230/460v)
- Usage/Cycles (Per Hour and Daily. Cycles Divided By Number of Months In Service Then Divided By ~30 And Divided By 24(hrs) To Get Hourly Usage.

How does the Model H connect to the jackshaft? What is the gear on the sideshaft of the opener used for?

If you are not familiar with the product or installation we would always recommend hiring a professional. Always follow manufacturers installation and safety instructions. In short, the shaft with the "gear" (sprocket) on it coming out of the side of the unit is the output shaft, that is to be coupled to the torsion shaft of the door system via the operator drive chain. These operators are not intended to be direct drive, you will likely burn the motor out doing that and it could cause the cables to slack out on a standard track door system causing the cables to fall off the drums which would be bad. Best of luck with your project.

I have a sectional wood door. It measures 17 x 8. I had a 3/4 overhead Liftmaster which did the job for years. It's worn out and needing the headroom I tried the 8500 from Liftmaster. Sounded like an old car starter with a dead battery and Liftmaster support was useless. It doesn't exist😞 Fortunately I bought it through Amazon and they forced 365 Garage Door to Refund my money. 365 support by the way, is worse than Liftmaster, if you can believe that!! Still prefer a side mount... What would you suggest? Gets used a couple times a day and like I said it's 17 x 8 sectional wood door. Thank You in advance....

I will preface this with, We are not affiliated with Liftmaster in any way other than being an installing dealer. We use the most reliable products and that is the only reason we use Liftmaster, they are the best available and if/when that changes we will make the necessary change(s) to continue providing the most reliable product(s). Im a little shocked to here Liftmaster customer support was not helpful, they typically bend over backwards for end users. Your options are going to be very limited on side mount/shaft mount residential openers. Liftmaster's 8500 would be my recommendation as the only other residential shaft mounted operator I have seen is or was made by wayne dalton (i-Drive) however the only one we have seen we replaced 2 or 3 times within a couple years as there were multiple different issues with it, I will say wayne dalton covered the parts under warranty. We were not the original installer of it and would never sell it to a customer. Im surprised to hear you had issues with the 8500, we have these units on light commercial applications up to 18x8 wood carriage doors with glass and 4' or more high-lift and have not had issues. Although the earlier models did have issues with the output shaft of the motor snapping off. I can't say we have ever had an immediate mechanical issue right out of the box with any of lift masters residential products. I understand you would like the headroom but given a choice we would recommend an 8550w or 8587w (for larger/heavier doors) opener over a side mount any day. I would suggest giving the Liftmaster 8500 another try if you are dead set on a side mount, it is possible you got a dud. My 3800 (old version of the 8500) has been going strong for 7 years on a 16 x7'6" - 2" sandwich steel urethane insulated overlay carriage house door with 24" insulated glass top, its a heavy door and has 12" radius track making for a less than smooth operating door but I wanted the tallest door possible while avoiding low headroom track. If you have a minute to chat Id like to learn more about the issue you had with the 8500, please give us a call at (630) 532-8937 Thank you, Branden Suva First Class Garage Door

Sorry for the delay. I would need some specific info. Is this going to be overhead operation or swinging ? If overhead I assume this will be a one piece door and there will be a spring counterbalance system ? Please advise.

There is (should be) a wiring diagram on the electrical enclosure cover of the operator. That would be the best to go off as I have no idea what model you are working on. Good luck!

Motor is wired gor 220 volts ,There is a capacitor of 650 microfarad 125VAC, so it should be the starting capacitor, but there is no centrifugal switch, do they use any kind of electronic switches for isolating starting winding after the motor starts.

If its newer that is correct there is no centrifugal switch its all done by the logic board/power board. Sounds like you are putting an old motor on a new unit or new motor on an old unit. I don't modify these units like this so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help you with this one. @@harishharikumar1543
