if he has to dig deeper it will take more concrete . things happen in construction. he should have known you would need a retaining wall, but buying extra concrete will to fill the extra footing will be money well spent in the long run if the building dosen't slide off the slope. or cut the concrete and move the building forward about 4 feet. it sucks and i understand your frustration.

Yes, he should have known the code and been able to tell me that he would have to dig deeper in the back, then given me a more accurate quote. Would not have gone with them if I knew all that I know now. Also, we cant push it forward that far as it would be too close to the house and also block the one car garage we have. Oh well, live and learn. But, he needs to pay for the extra concrete this go around I paid $1700 for his first mistake. Not doing it again.
