Despite some disruptions to the schedule due to snow and strong winds in Gangneung, the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics, which opened on Jan. 19, are progressing smoothly. Most events, including luge, ski jumping and short track, have proceeded without any major issues.
In the men's 1,500-meter short track final held at the Gangneung Ice Arena, Joo Jae-hee of South Korea won gold by defeating Chinese skater Zhang Shijia.
The Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics will continue until Feb. 1.
