This is actually Suha Sughrai. It is Evident from the phrase in the Sthayee of the bandish " ni ni Pa ma Pa ni Sa Re Sa ni Pa ma Re Sa Re ga"

In essence its the same - Different artistes call ii differently - Suha, Suha Sughrai, Suha Kanada

@@ChuckUstaad Not true. The raagvachak swar sangatis are different in Suha Kanhada and Sughrai Kanhada. However many artists club the phraseology together and sing it as Suha Sughrai. In Suha, Rishabh is omitted in the aaroh. In Sughrai Rishabh is used in aarohi passages, and there is a strong influence of sarang in the avarohi.

Unfortunately, our Shastriya Sangeet was never a "Rocket Science" - there has always been a dichotomy in Indian Classical "Theory" v/s "Practice" - for ex. "Bhinna Shadja" ( AgraJaipur Gharana) is same as "Kaushik Dhwani" ( Patiala gharana) - Reg Suha...etc at Practical Stage ...in actual performance..esp. in Taan patterns..madhya + Drut layas - various Artists - in the aroha 'R' in Suha & SuhaSughrai they "Overlap" & hence some 'Liberties' are allowed/taken by Performers {Hear "Ustad Faiyaz Khan" record 'SUHA" , where he has used R in aroha too ] Another Close example to the use of 'R' - in aroha is Rageshri......and Bageshree where 'Theoretically" R is not done in Aroha But all Performing Artists do take 'liberties'- use R both ways / overlapping - if it beautifies the 'presentation' , and sounds pleasurable to Listeners

@@ChuckUstaad Yes, performing artists take liberties and there is nothing wrong with that. However, I choose to draw my inspiration from people like Pt. Ramashreya Jha "Ramrang", who always prioritized purity of the "Shastra" in Shastriya Raagdari Sangeet. It is the responsibility of a student of Raagdari Sangeet to ensure that the subtleties in grammar be given the due importance they deserve. Yes, Suha and Sughrai are often clubbed and sung together. But Suha and Sughrai do have their own individual swaroops which deserve to be treated as separate Raags.
