Gangster Jordan Peterson: They Banned Snowball Fights And Now My Son Can't Reproduce, See

In this Majority Report clip, Jordan Peterson is about to fight Dick Tracy with a tommy gun.

"Since the article's publication Peterson has fervently claimed he was misrepresented and that his answer referred more to the societal values that might promote monogamous behaviors, whether those be pressures or rewards. Others have cited the resulting controversy as further proof of “liberal hysteria.” There are certainly differing perspectives on just what Peterson meant - an unearthed tweet from Dec. 17, 2016, seems suspiciously pertinent: “Could ‘casual’ sex necessitate state tyranny? The missing responsibility has to be enforced somehow…” - there’s no doubt that his opinions have been drumming up significant support and controversy over the past two years, particularly in Peterson's consistent defense of “culture” against the barbarous hordes of postmodernists, feminists and progressives, all of whom, according to him, mean to ruin society as we know it."*

    An irony is that traditional religion, whose decline he laments, has always the biggest source of guilt and shame in young men for their natural thoughts/urges. In my experience as a former Mormon and knowing other Mormons, the religion has been a far bigger impediment to having satisfying relationships than whatever secular progressive "masculine guilt" thing he's invented.

    But the sad truth is, in the context of fundamentalist cultures, simply having lust is a sin and not distinguished as any less of a sin than acting on it, even without the lust object's consent. This is why even deeply religious men and boys commit acts of rape and incest; they figure if they're already sinning by feeling the lust that tortures them, might as well try to quench it by acting it out. And up until recently, the woman or child was not likely to report it. Also until recently, there was no DNA testing and therefore no way to prove sexual contact or even paternity in a rape-caused pregnancy. I think this is really the crux of this whole issue: Forget boys being raised as sissies and all this other cultural psychobabble; the simple fact is that women are claiming 100% possession of their own bodies and this bothers the kinds of guys who would take possession at will if they could.

    @@audreymuzingo933 How? What shame? Religious interpretations often side with the man and his sexual urges. E.g. women must "submit" to their husbands, polygyny etc. It's the women who've have to deal with excessive shame and modesty culture. And when it comes to things like "chastity" and "no sex before marriage", that's not even something that applies to men alone, it applies to women too! And women often have to deal with it more and are expected to be "virtuous". However, some shame is a good thing. A male who flashes women/girls (yes it still happens) has no shame. He has no shame in violating other people's privacy or boundaries. He has no shame in exposing himself. I've known men who were virgins because they wanted to wait until marriage even into their late 20s/early 30s. This lack of control argument is absolute BS because these men choose to rpe people when no one is watching. They know when and where to do it. They are doing it out of choice and they have absolute control over their own actions. And let's not pretend everyone follows religion to a T. Plenty of people commit sins and do things their religion says not to incl. having sex, drinking etc.

    Peterson grew up in the same decades as I did. He, in small town Alberta, and myself very close to where Peterson lives now, in a large city. Snow ball fights were not allowed at my school in the late 1960's early 1970's either. We managed to do it elsewhere. Among ourselves. Volunteers only. It was like the Spanish Civil War. When I was a kid, snowball fights on school grounds at recess were still a thing. And I saw one where this bad seed (I'll call him Rock) formed a snowball around a rock and threw it at at a crowd. You can guess what happened. It turned out to be a lucky throw and the snow on the playground got bloody that day. The kid who got hit (I'll call him Scar) got a permanent scar on his forehead and Rock was suspended. But that wasn't the end. Scar ended up beating Rock with a metal pipe a few weeks later because he didn't like the smirking and taunting and broke Rock's arm and two ribs. During _that_ assault, the pipe slipped out of Scar's hand and flew, hitting a girl in the head and knocking her unconscious. More blood on the snow. True story. And that's why they don't allow snowball fights on campus, not because they're trying to de-ball young boys. A snowball fight is a (duh) fight, and fights escalate until somebody, or more than one somebody, gets seriously hurt. Peterson knows all this; he's not a dummy. He's just shamelessly dishonest.

    I have an example from my time in 4th grade, so mostly 9 years olds and a some 10 year old kids, that compares to this whole snowball things with regard to the whole "boys will be boys" BS. In my school (and many others), there was "Friday Flip Up Day." It's when boys would go around to girls wearing skirts, and flip up their skirts, exposing their underwear. Even if they didn't, you'd be worried all day about it happening if you were wearing one. So teachers NEVER addressed it, and it should have been a teachable moment w/ regard to the right to safety for women/girls. There was this unspoken rule created among us predominantly single digit aged girls that you don't wear skirts on Fridays. For us, it was "don't wear skirts," instead of "boys, DON'T FUCKING FLIP GIRLS' SKIRTS UP, YOU LITTLE SHITS!" This is how boys like Brock Turner get away with rape. It's why "well she was asking for it," is a staple in rape cases. Consent is more of a luxury than the standard. It's disgusting. And women are raped all the time in burqas. Women aren't the problem.

They support exploitation in the private sector because most of them envision themselves one day being the exploiters. They're never gonna support things like public accountability, government oversight, or perfectly sensible regulations, because they've been reared up on this Austrian Economics tripe since their junior year of college. If they cared as much about economic anxiety as they claimed, they'd also rail against automation, downsizing, and outsourcing. His arrogance at retranslating the meaning of various Bible stories as though he has a direct line to God--or as though he is God. Next thing he'll do is write a third testament. Wonder what he'll call it. Not a complete list by any means. Sorry I just can't respect the arrogance of someone who presents himself as an expert in disciplines for which he has no scholarship-climatology, theology, nutrition, pharmacology...

    Two points on the silly snowball issue... 1. Since when have young kids stopped misbehaving because of rules? The danger of getting caught and the thrill of breaking the rules is what makes stuff like snowball fights fun in the first place. 2. Was there ever a time where snowball fights were tolerated without repercussion at recess? My parent's are senior citizens, and I remember from all the "when I was your age" talks, that they risked a spanking if they were caught flinging snowballs at school. If anything, my experience was MORE permissive about snowball fights... the worst punishment I ever faced was having to sit inside for a couple days, (which was actually a reward given how horrible Michigan winters are).

    Apparently, that particular school banned snowball fight because a kid accidentally threw a snowball in another kid's eye, it turned into a big deal and school just banned snowballs altogether after that. You can find it in we're in hell's video on mikhaila peterson. In all seriousness, it isn't so out of the norm for a school to ban something after something goes bad. In my middle school, they (kinda) banned students from different classes playing together because apparently a couple of kids from different classes fought while playing. I believe snowballs were banned for *everyone* in that school, nothing against to the boys, this just goes to show that peterson always thinks in a male-centered point of view. You know, it wasn't like girls weren't banned from snowball fights 🙄 Snowball fights is just a thing kids like to do, regardless of gender.

I meant different age groups by classes, it was a veryy small school so we had just one class for every grade, sorry a correct way would be saying *grades*. I just sometimes forget how small our school was and just assume every school was that way😅 (like assuming every school has one class per grade sorry!) I think it may be because they didn't want older kids having fights with the younger ones. It was just an example how schools can ban things sometimes as a easy way out. Sorry I could've phrased it better😅🙁

    "what if in 200 years, women do all the jobs AND raise the kids?" is about a pertinent a question as "what if it becomes illegal to be straight?" (although you Jordan Peterson acolytes probably think that this is a realistic proposition) it is the very definition of a slippery-slope fallacy... but there isn't even a slope here, as it is a total non-sequitur to anything that's actually happening or has happened... I think he is totally wrong on everything, learn to varying degrees towards all the usual "SJW" positions, am average-looking, borderline obese, and not even confident around women yet I have absolutely no problems finding willing partners to have sex with. "Just be yourself" is actually really good advice if you aren't a toxic man-baby... but sure, you all keep calling us "cucks" and "betas" and theorising about our "low T", and we'll just carry on doing the one thing which you seem to be the most worried about... because I have news for you: YOU are the problem, and if women don't want to sleep with you then it is YOU who needs to change, because it probably just means you are an unpleasant person to be around. Peterson has this ancient belief that casual sex is always bad, yet turns around in the same breath and says men need to be coddled and shouldn't have to put the work in (like, you know, not being a misogynist POS and actually trying to care about what the woman wants too) to have sex.

  • @ccas5278

    @ccas5278

    6 жыл бұрын

    Patrick McCarron First, in the context of having no birth control casual sex for a species that has a 16 or so years developmental stage is a pretty costly behavior for the individuals and the society that has to care for the unwanted progeny of such encounters. So it should be to no surprise that cultures the world over look down on it. Secondly, and I say this as someone who doesn't agree with Peterson's idealism or Jungian psych. so I'm not much a fan, but if you actually watched his lectures to understand him then you would know you're strawmanning his position. It's more like "we shouldn't feminize men because women have evolved to prefer masculine men." So it's putting the onus on men to behave like "men" if they want females to be attracted to them. It's an argument about sexual selection and women are the ones who select, so men have to put in the work to be fit for selection.

  • @ccas5278

    @ccas5278

    6 жыл бұрын

    And I guess to add to that, that's what he means when he says "only aggressive men and psychopaths will be left to father your grandchildren" because they will be the only ones left who have the traits women find desirable if we keep punishing boys for behaving masculinely. Which is obviously an exaggeration of the situation at best but it's better to understand what someone actually thinks than to make shit up about them so you can easily write them off without a reasoned rebuttal, as many of his critics seem to prefer to do.

    The bearded menace Its hard to reply to this because I don't completely share his views as I said in both my comments and you're drawing conclusions about his premises that don't follow and that he doesn't draw. Not to mention you chose two topics that would require lengthy exposition to respond to in order for my ideas to be properly expressed without oversimplification and leaving the door wide open for people to fill in the blanks with strawmans as it appears to be the favored tactic of the day.

    The bearded menace but ok I'll bite on the "natural" gender role thing so I don't get accused of copping out. JBP takes an evolutionary psych./sociobiology type position on subjects like that. Idk if his arguments are the right ones but I think that is at least a part of the right lens with which to view society and culture. The other part, which is in opposition to post-modern/structuralist thought, is the theories on social and cultural evolution which would assert, that like genetic traits, cultural and social traits are adaptions subject to a Darwinian selection process that includes selective social and cultural pressures. Gender roles are thus adaptions to biological, ecological, sociological, and cultural circumstances. So yes they are in part "natural" but at the same time natural doesn't make right (naturalistic fallacy) nor is it the case that a trait that was once a beneficial adaption is still beneficial or necessary.

    The bearded menace You mistake me for a proponent of his just because I defend him and have some similar ideas to his but I'm actually critical of his ideas, I've just put in the time to understand his seemingly confusing ideas enough so to know when someone misrepresents his actual position. For instance people often construe him as an alt-righter but thats a far cry from reality and they do it because people are irrational cognitive misers (Wikipedia it). It's easier and more efficient to poison the well than to take the time to understand a confusing person and engage their arguments with reason and logic. Part of what makes him so confusing is the rarity of his strain of thought. He's a Jungian, proponent of evolutionary psych. and an idealist though he never makes this last part explicit to my knowledge. Not many people have experience with these ideas.
