@bghimself440 Well, you are not dreaming, that definitely is a thing. For a while, my channel were coinciding where my french channel would come up to english speakers with subtitles so it all adds up.

Are there any controllers like this that also have data in/out over usb c? It would be great to be able to use this docked to a tv through hdmi and with headphones

@@young-salt I don't believe there is unfortunately. I think the fact that the board of the controller would have to be overengineered beyond the usual to manage is the reason why. Just assuming that would be one of the reason why.

Got it working with a case on iphone. Used a box cutter to gently slice off usb c side bumpers then peeled them and cleaned with alcohol. Works perfect now and looks good.

I just got my X2s in the mail today. I have an iPhone 15 Pro with a Mous case. It’s fairly slim so I was surprised it didn’t work with the case connected. I’m tempted to give this a shot but a bit worried if it doesn’t work I won’t be able to return it. Did you find a video on how and where to cut to do this and make it clean? Thanks!

@HoldenRiot So as mentioned on another comment, the case I have works on the Fold 4 using the G8 but not the X2s, even if I give it a compressing nudge.

@@Adi-Dassler No problems, smooth as butter. You just got to make sure you're on the right mode for it to work, hold Select and Start for a few seconds and that'll cycle through the two options.

Just found out about your channel and I love how helpful you are! I own a Tab S9 Ultra and I'd like to use a telescopic controller with it, am I right in saying the Gamesir G8 would be my only choice? Thank you!

A great review. Or at least I liked it and found it informative. The X2 Pro has flakey compatibility. It's not enough just to have a USB-C port and OTG; whatever device that's plugged into it needs to support the USB PD 2 charging standard or it won't pair. I only have one phone that supports that standard - luckily it's the one I do PS2 on. Everything else I have, sub $100 prepaid phones, simply cause the controller to flash its lights for ten seconds and then play dead. Apparently PD 2 support is a corner every manufacturer cuts with their lower and midrange phones and they never tell you. So, I'm wondering if the X2s also requires PD 2 support. Have you tested it with any cheap(er) phones? Thank you.

Unfortunately I haven't. The closest to a "cheaper" phone I have is the Redmagic 8 Pro which I doubt qualifies as one and is probably way too recent to not have PD 2.0. I did try it on the Helio G99 Alldocube iPlay 50 Pro but I wouldn't know about the USB PD protocol. I have a RoG Phone laying around, I'll plug it in tomorrow and report back but all the same, pretty sure it's got probably even PD 3.0 so I don't expect to run into that issue. @@GameTechTalk - I figured it was a long shot; but, I thought I'd ask. Thank you for the reply. I've kept a prepaid Verizon line active through TracFone for years, and it's usually a lot cheaper to buy a phone bundled with a TracFone airtime card than the card by itself. Those phones usually have big batteries, big screens, and enough performance to run some PS2. They make nice little handhelds and are effectively free to me because I need to buy the airtime anyway.

Have you tried the EasySMX M10? Looks like a Kishi V2 clone, but with hall triggers and sticks

Hold Select and Start to cycle through modes, they don't call those buttons select and start but the upper most function buttons on each sides. You want to hold them for 3-4 seconds and the little LED should cycle from blue to white. If I recall, the white mode is the one that works for Remote Play. Cheers! :)

My gamesir x2 pro is not usable with my phone that have been used with that phone in the past. How can I fix this? My firmware is latest version!

Does the controller light up at all? If nothing happens, it's possible that a firmware upgrade got corrupted. If it lights up but nothing happens, that's a bit more unexpected let's say. As I recall the X2 Pro doesn't have mode switching but try holding select and start for a few seconds for good measure.

Watching these reviews are causing me to pile up with controllers left to right at home XD

Hey! During the livestream they did a few days ago, they said it was a design decision to allow phones with camera bumps to have more rubber to sit inside of, or to contour the edges better.

I've the X2, X2 Pro and now the G8 but honestly, I've feet of clay, I'm but a mere mortal prone to unwarranted expenditures plus the colour way works for me so this must be had; my kit bag awaits it's arrival. 👍😁

Do you think it is compatible with Iphone 15 for playing genshin impact?

It is because Genshin Impact has native controller support but that is only true for iOS. The mapping that is necessary is really just on Android devices. :)

Not at all, you'll notice those little rubber corner pads have tabs sticking out, that's audio channels so that if your audio comes out the top, or bottom, or both, it redirects to the person facing the controller. That's actually a great detail or pretty much every telescopic controllers from GameSir.

GameSir has their own software which you can grab on the play store. I also believe they provide the .apk on their website as well.

It actually can if you use a female-to-male USB-C cable and connect it from the center USB-C versus the external one!

Great video. I was wondering if this controller works with Roblox. I really need a controller for it but I want a mobile controller instead of the regular controllers. If you could test this I'd really appreciate it.

Yes it does, I often play Roblox with my sons! 😂 Mind you, controller compatibility can be off in certain games, that depends on the developers though, not the controller itself.

I just got my x2s controller today and it doesnt work. It was working great for like 5 minutes and then it just stopped connecting. I took my case off because I thought the usb-c connector wasnt on well but that still didnt work. I have a samsung galaxy s8 with the usb-c port, so Im so confused why it doesnt work. The gamesir website isnt giving me any information how the return would go and Im kinda freaking out because I spent $40 on it so it would hurt me to just waste the money. If you know of any way I can get it to work or how I can refund my money, please tell me. Its like I spent $40 and waited 2 weeks for it to arrive just to be disappointed😕. I tried it with other phones and it still didnt work😦.

Well that sure is alarming. And you’ve held select and start simultaneously for 10 seconds or so? Maybe it needs to cycle between modes?

@@danieloku7560 Sure, that would be the top left and top right circle buttons, the two that usually pause the games and such. When you hold them for a few seconds, your controller is supposed to cycle from a mode to another. Let me know if that does anything at all, also I would try grabbing the app from the Play Store if you haven't to see if it recognizes the controller being connected

So I just tested it, turns out it doesn't work natively, you have to rely on mapping, much like Genshin Impact. With that said, GameSir does provide their own software solution that works wonderfully but it's not proper native input.@@ralphluis9519

So I could be the weird one when it comes to the X2 Pro but it didn't do it for me and I think one of the main reason is how that controller is not necessarily the top in terms of ergo but also isn't particularly above average in terms of features. The X2s on the other hand, it has dualsense mode, it has a screen mapping mode, it has the connector on the left, it has that hidden tablet mode, it works for Android but USB-C iOS too... And for all that? It has a more affordable price... So for me it's a no-brainer, I'd say X2s because it'll be more versatile over time but at the end of the day, if you know you like the look best of the X2 Pro, and that you won't use it for more than what it's designed for, then treat yourself to something you find is nice! 😊

As you said the X2s picks up as a Playstation controller is there a way for it to show up as a Xbox controller as well or no ? It would be weird to see x, square, triangle and circle in game but my controller has the Xbox layout.

Oh totally, it's great for both streaming and PS Remote Play, I just find the sticks to be a bit on the small side but they include awesome sleeves with the controller and those completely fix that one caveat. It's a great product!

Yeah, I wish the "xbox spoofing" mode would've remained but I think by doing that, they would have immediately alienated their X2 Pro model. I'd bet it was an internal decision to not do that for that exact reason.

@@terribletimes902 The X2 Pro is X-input and is also Microsoft licensed, it also has two back paddles. However, the X2 Pro does not have the "Dualsense" spoofing mode so it doesn't work natively with the Remote Play app. Cheers!

@@GameTechTalkI see. The more I find out about this, the more I think something fishy is going on with COD Mobile and Backbone. Even controllers that spoof a Dualsense don’t seem to work with that game’s controller support on Android because all footage I’ve seen of them uses keymappers. Except for the Backbone, the only wired telescopic controller that works natively in that game on Android. iOS does not have this problem, and bluetooth controllers on Android don’t have this problem. Not sure what’s going on there. Would appreciate if you can test the game on the controllers you own and see if any other than the Backbone are recognized by the game.

@@HoldenRiot I doubt it would to be honest. Your best bets might be to return the X2s and try your luck with the G8 or to go with Backbone One v2 that is apparently better designed for a wide compatibility of cases. Good luck!
