Hey everyone an update. So if I keep the deadzones to zero in gamesir nexus software, there’s a little bit of drift in cod and a fare amount in Bf2042, but that hesitation I talked about in video is severely reduced.

@@Ev3ning hey, it’s a bit inconsistent in any direction at odd times. I tried to show some clips in this video, but it’s difficult coz it’s something you feel whilst playing. I disabled the deadzones completely and enabled raw mode for both left right stick, it has some drift with this but the experience is better. Still I feel the Raikiri and fusion sorta performing better. It’s just a bit different I guess, don’t know if I want to put a lot of time getting used to it. If there were physical trigger stops I’d definitely try and get used to it. I’d recommend removing the deadzones and enable raw mode, yes some drift is there but it feels a lot better.

@@thephototechy I have it set to raw mode, as that worked well with the original G7, but so far the moving the right stick left is very slow while moving it right is full speed ahead while using precision rings. Without the rings it seems to be fine. But I prefer the rings, so it’s odd without.

@@Ev3ning I think what you are describing is what I’ve experienced. I tried it without the Percy rings as well and it felt a bit better, but like you I can’t play without precision rings. I love the feel of them and the high sensitivity it allows me to play at. So if the Hall effects will have issues with precision rings, I’ll just have to stick to normal sticks. TBH I’m very lucky and never got stick drift, even my 7 years old and seriously used elite series 1 has no drift after 5% deadzones. The issues I’ve faced are bumpers and the button inside the stick going defective, so personally I can stay with normal sticks. I’m going to try and replace my G7se to see if the other unit is ok.

@@thephototechy For Halo Infinite at least, I found a solution, after testing in the Nexus app, the right stick doesn't register movement as far left as it does right, so in game you can simply adjust the look threshold to max.

One issue comes to mind is the manufacturer are currently in mainland China, hopefully politics won’t play a part, specially with the current situation. I’d love to see some mainland Chinese companies release licensed products, currently feel like most are from Hongkong like Gamesir and 8bit, then we have PDP and PowerA from America and they do use polyshine cheaper sticks in their cheaper controllers. PDP victrix gambit using polyshine higher quality sticks is a good sign, they might adopt the Hall effects. PowerA just released the advantage, a cheaper model and had the perfect opportunity to use Ksilver but it doesn’t look like it. I’m going to buy it to review and see what it has. Snakebyte a German company has announced 3 xbox licensed controllers with Hall effects coming in November. I’m just hoping Sony side see some love as well.

@@thephototechy One of the troubles with Sony is that they are very Japanese when it comes to technologies : if they can shine being way ahead they will, but if they already are late they tend to feel "nah, this is not progress but foreign shenanigan"... up to the point they could try to limit tier companies to use hall effect sticks for PS gamepads. They really need to take a very bad beat to accept they went too far and got to back-pedal, like they did after PS3's fail. Right now they are at the top of the mountain, witch is not a good place for them to listen. I wouldn't be surprised if official Xbox gamepads would have it first, and Dual Senses then come with it for PS6, or maybe even PS7. XD I saw your short about Snakebyte's gamepad, they look sick ! I live in Europe and T4K is way more expensive than in USA, so I was feeling I should wait as European brands are less expensive here. But my PowerA died some weeks ago and I really want a good controller to enjoy Starfield at launch, so I just decided to go for the T4K anyway. I should have it tomorrow. :) For sure Chinese floods will have catastrophic consequences on their productions too. And Beijing being way more into trying to hide reality than facing it is quite an additional issue. Also it would be a tremendous change in China's history if the cycle of Heaven wasn't respected, meaning these floods could likely come with huge governmental changes, and no one is really capable to guess who would take China's lead if CCP falls. Saying we are living very unpredictable times is an understatement.

Hey I’m just uploading the video with recommended settings and what could be the issue. Basically the raw mode is not true raw, it feels more responsive than 100% outer deadzone, but has issues. Best settings would be 0 deadzone and 100% maximum, with in game outer maximum reduced and high sensitivity. These combined made a big difference for me, hoping true raw mode can be implemented or even a custom response curve given.

Hey the hall effect sticks ar ea bit different than the normal sticks, saying that the G7se will be better than the standard xbox controller, thats because of the calibration on the standard xbox controllers. If we were to consider other third party pro options, thats where things get a bit more interesting. I'd say if you get used to hall effect sticks in G7se, the benefit of calibration option and the longevity potential is amazing. One thing I've noticed, these hall effect sticks perform better if there is a linear curve option in the game for aiming, atleast thats how they are for COD.@@johnmichaelbautista662

Watch this space lol. 9:36 Something you have noticed, this is some info I needed 😁🤤 🎮👍🏼🕹️🕹️👍🏼 for concreting my understanding just a little bit more. Hesitation in your response curve while using other functions? Raw circularity is better to mimic traditional AVG Error:% rate over the line 👍🏼, it also increases diagonal overlap response. Hmm it seems the magnetic 🧲 hall effect response curve is not the same as traditional track & wiper pots for your usual sensitivity settings, in my stick 🕹️ studies would it shock you to know a height change of just 0.05mm can be detected when I was playing Battlefield 4 on PS4 & that's before the spring tension even comes into it. Test a normal XBox one pad 🎮 to note down the factory Avg Error:% you 🫵🏼 are used to on the circularity result 🎯🎯. It may be more like 14-15% for Xbox one standard pads with PC support calibration in mind for it's SOP? 10.8% seems in line with a DS4 🎮 factory stock pad 😁. If you can mimic a traditional pad outer circularity but shrink the deadspot 🎯🎯 you are half way there for equating what you are used to 🤔💭🧐, as for magnetic 🧲 field dictating everything between those two points for response curve feel I'm at a loss 🤷🏼‍♂️ to a solution other than doctoring that in game settings. But as you say that would be a detected annoyance difference to standard pad response curves 😂🤣😭. Interesting stuff non the less. Pros & possible cons. 🤦🏼‍♂️😵‍💫 to get to the bottom of lol...

Hey, the controller is actually very good and I can’t believe that I haven’t bought the normal G7 yet (it’s actually happening right now lol). But like I mentioned that slight hesitation with the aiming stick just doesn’t feel right. Multiplayer games we develop the muscle memory for quick moves, with the Hall effect sticks I felt the inconsistency made so I couldn’t get used to it. It’s possible that it’s my particular unit having a slight issue. I’ll be testing it thoroughly against the normal G7 and will make a video very soon. Use in game deadzones to your liking and leave the nexus ones to 0. Hall effecr sticks are a bit different compared to specially PowerA controllers. Something that kinda helps is disabling deadzones and put the maximum deadzone to 100. Raw felt good but 100 maximum is a bit more consistent. I do hope a custom response curve option is available soon, as the initial movement feels a bit slow to me. Also I think the use of precision rings makes the issue more apparent in my case. I tried the precision tester and making a circle makes a skewed shape with raw mode. Every other review is positive of the controller so who knows if a firmware update with custom response curve will be available or not. Coz currently no one else seems to have any issues with the controller.

Hey that sounds like the issue I had prior to the recent update 6.25. Are there any deadzone settings in FC24? Also is there a response curve adjustment? One thing could be how your sticks are calibrated, check gamepd tester and see how much % register you have at centre position. I’m about to release a video for adjusting stick drift, as mine got over 8-9% at rest after 60-70 hours use. In the video I’m explaining how we can centre the drift amount. It could be FC24 have a built in deadzone that’s not playing nicely with your stick’s centre position. Also check if the slow response in a particular direction only, as that could be a sign of drift on one direction.

It’s looking like the issues are with my unit. I’m still trying to get used to the sensitivity, I just have to increase it more than other controllers. It feels like the precision ring could be the issue for me, every test I put this through passes. I still feel a bit inconsistent with aim every now and then, it’s reduced somewhat after the 6.20 update.

Yeah I hear you bro. My biggest issue currently is when I go back and forth between this and standard controller. You see I’m trying to get used to the Hall effect sticks but I do use the standard wireless controller a lot and that’s where ilI feel how different the standard sticks feel and I do prefer them. If we get a wireless Hall effect option, I can go hall in 😂

Hey, yeah no one else probably has this issue. I’m in the middle of speaking with Gamesir trying to exchange the controller. I’ll make a comparison with the normal G7 when I purchase if, hopefully next week. For me too the noise is a bit of an issue, at times it disappears then happens again.

@@thephototechy Just saw an article at Xbox Tavern and they had the same issue with the glide ring. Really hate that. I'm on PC and the White controller is what I'm looking for, but since the Kaleid dont have this protection ring and has mechanical face buttons I may end up geting it instead of the G7SE. If only they make it Grey or White..... Can't have it all...

@@machado5765 the Kalied also don’t have removable face plate. The controller looks nice though. The anti friction ring issue is a bit strange and annoying, but judging by other reviews it definitely feels like an isolated issue to me, hopefully it’s not a widespread problem.

Hey, originally I was keeping it around 4-5 but it felt a bit non responsive. Now I keep them at zero and do feel a big difference. Yeah there is some drift at rest position, but it doesn’t mess with the use at all. I’m still having issues with inconsistent response.

@@patrickbfit unfortunately at zero deadzones mine registers anywhere from 3-6% input, so fare amount of drift. Still it’s not game breaking, I do have to keep it at 0 otherwise I get a lot of inconsistent response. Still same after the recent update and numerous calibrations. I’ve tried and a lot back and forth and for me fusion pro3, gambit and Raikiri perform consistently unlike the G7se. I’ve tried the precision tester to draw circles and get very mixed results from G7se, where the right and left edges ends up shrinking every time, something all other controllers can easily do. So I’m thinking the issue could be the use of precision rings, something I use on all of my other controllers. I wish this had 2 years warranty, like PowerA and PDP are giving, considering the Hall effect should last alot longer.

@@Bloodysugar hey bro I get what you are saying, but tbh the drift at rest position is not a problem, specially if it’s only 3%-5%. Yes feels odd to have it but still not game breaking. Issues I’m seeing if with the software deadzones feeling inconsistent somewhat. My favourite controller for aim response curve is gambit and it uses polyshine sticks with probably 4-5% deadzone built in. Somehow victrix compensate for that with the response. I just got an update a few days ago on the fusion pro3, PowerA seems to have employed a different tactic, they disable deadzone when stick is moving and when placed at rest for a second it gets enabled, something I haven’t seen before. The centre position really depends on the spring and how heavy the plastic or steel stick module is, for instance my elite series 2 registers anywhere from 7-9% at rest at times even more then 10. The serious issue would be if you are moving the aim and it’s way different due to serious drift.
