I had a guy ejected by the GW shop manager. I don't remember the customer's name but he worked as a car mechanic. I was playing a friend new to the hobby and I was playing my Ultras. Very simple list of intercessors, no vehicles, and basic infantry (500 pts). The guy in question looks at my painted models and gripes about how lame Ultras are, how stupid they are etc. I simply say you can play any chapter or legion as it's your choice. Well he did not like my answer and proceeded to pick up my gravis captain, and push it into the hard plastic of the table bending the power sword. I shot him a look and told him to stop and the manager (Tim) at the time bolted up and told the guy to fuck off or he was calling the police. The only bad experiences I have ever had at a GW involve clowns cheating at the game, weird dudes around women, and internet shit lords who can't separate their IRL from 40k memes.

Sounds like an unlawful deductions of wages claim to me (if in the U.K. of course) - doesn’t need to be in the contract as is U.K. employment law

For the story of the person who got deducted from their paycheck. It’s illegal in the US to reduce someone’s paycheck or hold back someone’s paycheck as a punishment or negative incentive. So if they took out money from your pay heck to cover a store expense, that’s illegal. You could get some decent money for that.

That is somewhat inaccurate. While indeed, it is illegal to reduce someone's paycheck as a disciplinary action, what the employee did goes under the "Paycheck Deductions for Cash Register Shortages and Breakage" rule, since they took an action that caused the store to lose money. However... The manager/boss/employer is obligated to let the employee keep all the stuff that was mistakenly ordered, if they are going to deduct money from the employee's paycheck to cover up the mistake. So for example, if I work at a pizza place, and I mistakenly take an order of 50 pizzas when the customer said 15, the boss is allowed to deduct my paycheck, as long as I get to keep the extra pizza, and the final net earnings doesn't go below the minimum wage. But since the laws heavily favor the employers, it's a grey area...

@@thrrax right that’s totally fair, that’s why I’d say it looks like punishment to me, since the manager didn’t let the employee keep the ordered goods. But since he took the goods AND the money, it seemed to me that was illegal.

I feel bad that Ninetailed Digimon had to deal with that dude as a representation of Dark Souls fans, the games aren't for everyone and that's fine, I get not liking it, but saying every single fan is a douche like that guy is just unfair. As for the game being poorly made: it didn't win game of decade for no reason, you can clearly see a progression where the devs were learning what was good and wasn't. As for the games looking bad, if you're comparing a 2015 game's graphics with a 2023 game's graphics that's not really fair either is it? And that's for DS3, the game that WANTS to look ugly, the others were even older. The games aren't perfect, but they're definitely not "poorly made"

I wish Space Wolf players had the same relationship with Thousand Sons players that Ultramarines and Word Bearers players do. A friend of mine is an Ultramarines player and I run Word Bearers and it's always a hoot when we roll dice and move our plastic soldiers (and resin, because Horus Heresy) around the table. It's a lot more fun every time I put another line on the fringe of Hol Beloth's cloak. They're tally marks for each time he gets killed in a game.

As a Space Wolf player who's most friendliest and fun games has been against 1k Sons, Grey Knights and Dark Angels, I fully disown Stefan from the Rout. He thinks he's a Wolf Lord but he's just another jackass forever Blood Claw.

Under federal law, the general rule is that employers may deduct certain expenses from their employees' paychecks, as long as the deductions don't bring the employee's earnings below the minimum wage. Technically, this case goes under the "Paycheck Deductions for Cash Register Shortages and Breakage" rule, BUT only as long as the deduction is used to cover the cost of whatever was ordered, the employee gets to keep whatever was mistakenly ordered, and the deduction doesn't put the final net earnings below the minimum wage. Now, if we cue in other possible factors like job scarcity in the area, you can see how most people would just accept this somewhat unethical measure. And yes, it's correct, payment deduction cannot be used as a disciplinary action.
