I disagree. Asgore has killed a bunch of other kids just like you in the past, and obviously feels immense guild and grief over this. When Asgore nods to you telling him he's "killed you before," I don't think it's to imply that he's aware of Frisk being able to save/load. Rather i believe it's because he knows he's killed "you" before, "you" being a determined human child that fell into the underground. It's not really implied anywhere else he's aware of Frisk's ability.

While it's understandable disagreeing with that theory, it's just cruel hating someone who is simply posting a theory. He's just suggesting it, it's up to the person themselves to decide if they believe that theory or not. He's just really passionate about his work. no one should be faulted for that passion.

This intro still upsets me that so much love went into something and all it seemed to receive was ignorant hatred stemming from lack of understanding and/or wrongful conviction.

I've probably already watched this video when it came out, just as I did with the ness one (I rewatched it today), but coming back for this content is one of my favorite pastimes and I think Undertale is an amazing game, I love the emotion, the lore, and the mystery and as I've finally gotten to play through undertale for myself, this video is the perfect way to refresh my memory on Gaster. It doesn’t matter to me if episodes are two three or even four parts. They are always fun and enjoyable to watch

If there’s one thing I’ve learned my friend this is the sad and disgusting reality us a s people live in. We are criticized for what we like, what we do, and how we do things. Honestly I hate it too this is very depressing as a community and honestly we should rise up and show the rest of the world what it’s like to show love to people for what they like and do sadly the United States is the definition of criticism sometimes I question to myself, Why can’t we all just get along? I've been watching you for 6 years now, which is third of my life. You are my favorite youtuber ever. You have made my life better. Looking back at this video and knowing a ton of comic videos with gaster back story with sans it’s just amazing to see

i remember getting the wrong number song on my first playthrough, then playing the game again, getting all the funny "wait I've been here before lol" dialogue, and then... not getting the song again it crepped me out to an incredible degree, more than any horror project I've ever seen

Geez that opening about the internet attacking him. Its almost universal for everyone to know the internet is toxic but to affect an accomplished content creator. MatPat seriously was talking out in the beginning. I doubt that he would read this but continue resisting that shade cause people will always find something to pick at but at the end of the day they'lll still sleep it's important you dont get infected by any comments of anything.

I'm surprised to hear that Mat giving the Pope a copy of Undertale got him so much hate. The game is very specifically about mercy and that was part of the message he wanted to share with the Pope. I don't get it? o_o

The pope doesnt have a computer, I'm fairly certain, thus most people called Mat stupid for giving him that. A tree isn't a dumb gift, as it's a symbol of growth, and a symbol of life. The surfboard probably meant something to its giver. Am I saying that him giving the pope undertale was a good decision? No. He won't be able to play it. But, I understand he gave the pope the game because of the meaning it has to Mat. That's what I think the gifts are truly about.

What do you mean? It was mostly people who HATE Undertale that were giving him a hard time about those theories...specifically because they hate Undertale. Well, at least maybe the Pope one. I can see how Undertale fans can hate on the Sans one since that delves into the lore of the game and such, something only fans would care about.

I have a theory too. What if napstablook is a human. You defeat sans on his turn while he falls asleep. Saying monsters have turns. Monsters can only fight. You Might think certain bosses like toriel are acting at the end of the pacifist fight, but no, she just misses her shots on purpose, so monsters can only fight and spare, but napstablook can act, saying not felling up to it right now.

Guys, don't be a jerk. MatPat generally loves making theories, especially Undertale. So stop hating on his Undertale theories or just anything theory related at all. And to just see how serous he had to be with some of these rude commentators, really made me feel a bit sad. So if your one of these commentators that makes rude comments on MatPats videos, think before you speak. What I'm getting at is, think back to when you were young and you really wanted to show your parents something really cool you did, made, or found. That's basically the same kind of ecstatic excitement MatPat feels when he post's a theory about something he put so much effort into trying to make, and him showing you his creation that he is really proud of. So don't go around posting rude comments, this is some peoples careers to make funny, educational, entertainment, or persuasive content. -Thank you for your time!

2023 now. i just cannot take this man being this sad/mad. i feel so bad. so, love you matpat! :)

Undertale was THE worst thing to happen to KZreadrs tbh Yea the game was great but the aggressive fandom that game with it was not. Here are 3 HUGE examples: 1) Markiplier. He was literally bullied into playing it then got hate for "not enjoying it enough" and when he said he wouldn't play more than an episode's worth, there was people sending him DEATH THREATS for it. He ended up caving and playing it on a live stream... and it took months before the intense "PLAY THE PACIFIST ROUTE" movement left his channel. 2) Jacksepticeye. Now, Jack LOVES Undertale. He played it on his channel and cried during the emotional parts BUT he said he wouldn't play the other routes because he felt as though it was time to move on from the game, as he has a (literal) list of games he needed (still needs to) get through. THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO MARK, HAPPENED TO JACK. He was attacked, relentlessly, for months until he caved and played the other routes. HE DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY THE GENOCIDE ROUTE. IT BROKE HIS HEART TO HAVE TO KILL HIS FAVORITE CHARACTERS BUT HE DID IT BECAUSE HE AND HIS FOLLOWERS WERE CONSTANTLY SUBJECTED TO "Play the genocide route!!!" and "WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING THE GENOCIDE ROUTE?!?!?!" and other comments that truly DON'T need to be repeated. I have yet to watch his play through because of that reason. 3) You, Mat. I have NEVER seen you get so much hate over a game before, EVER. I understand being a bit upset to find out that Mario is a Sadistic Sociopath but to get THAT MUCH HATE over drawing parallels between two VERY GOOD games? You literally complimented BOTH games and instead of getting thought-provoking questions... you get an EXTREME amount of people sending you HARSH words and people threatening you... over you brainstorming about a THEORY. You NEVER ONCE called it canon and yet I saw some HORRIBLE things being said about it. I loved Undertale but I hated their fandom. FNAF was annoying and their fans were too but it was NEVER this bad. EVER.

I think you may be one of the people who assumes the Undertale fandom is terrible due to the minority of people being the loudest. Me? I would consider myself part of that fandom, as would many of my friends and many other people. However I absolutely hate the people who leave those sorts of comments, and wish the entire fandom wasn't accosiated with them.

Seeing this in 2024 as a recent undertale fan when a game dose really well there is more hate then ever before it breaks pepole Like markiplier he started a undertale lets play and 2 episodes in he had to stop to the hate on him. And with this new knowledge it uses your determination to fix your sole and move on

I have a stupid theory. Goner kid is frisk from another dimension that was murdered by gaster, pretending to worship him so that gaster isn’t trying to kill him. If you have the right fun, then what actually happens is that gaster comes to try to kill you, but goner kid stops him, and reminds you about “a world where you do not exist” and that’s his story, HE DOES NOT EXIST IN HIS WORLD. Goner kid also gets the message to monster kid, which is why he wants to always hang out with undyne, undyne is pretty much the strongest monster where goner kid lives, so he’s hoping that undyne will protect him. He doesn’t tell you, because he either assumes you already know, or doesn’t want to scare you.
