My favorite Mr. Rogers fact is that he used to narrate himself feeding the fish each episode because a young blind girl sent him a letter as she was worried the fish were hungry. I’m sure there’s others, but that’s what comes to my mind when I hear Mr. Rogers.

Mat! In case you haven't heard, there's been a huge update to the website with so much cool lore and hidden stuff, It's taken me all day to find it all and I still think I'm missing some things.

I really think Wally is less of a villain and more of a victim, almost like home is forcing him to send letters out. I think he’s trying to help the viewers to solve the mystery and save his neighbors. (“I can’t reach them” on the mailbox page and “can you see me? Then stay quiet.”)

I know this video is a few months old but I wanted to add a comment about the line “As Above, So Below”. It isn’t only an occult phrase, but a phrase used in many other hermetic traditions, especially Kabbalah. The usage in most hermetic traditions is the idea that all living creatures contain a piece of god, because all creatures have a soul. I find it very interesting that a puppet that seemingly alive (maybe having a soul) is connected to Home. Also, the end goal of Kabbalah is to make humanity return to god, to cause all souls to recombine. I don’t personally know all of the ways that information might be useful or relevant, but I find it very interesting

I love the conversation where Walley says frowning isn't easy for him like it is for Frank. Completely recontextualizes his creepy smiling pictures.

I think it's because Wally is a puppet. From what we've seen, it looks like Wally is self-aware about the whole puppet thing, so him not being able to smile could be because his features are literally stitched on and that's just how the puppet was designed. Just like how Frank's puppet has a frown.

You should cover this again! There’s tons of new stuff on the website. There’s videos and audio files. On the welcome home page you can click on the flower gifs at the way bottom that lead to audio files. When you click through the picture slideshow there’s a little bug gif that leads to an audio file and way more

Finally, you see his eyes... Vividly watching you, Wally is always watching, He just wants to see the real world...He wants to see us.

But , if you look at one art project in the website you’ll see someone made a tweet saying “food for Wally !” With a Mac and cheese photo, and the creator of Welcome home then replied with him not eating the food with his house, but with his eyes. Maybe it's similar to the mascots of McDonald's. Remember that Ronald McDonald's used to have a lot of friends with him and then in present day, he's the only one alone? What if Wally and Home killed them all?

12:30, I’ve always believed that the crosses on him signify a “cross-brace”, which is the wooden device used to control string puppets. Also, it seems like he already knows that he’s a puppet due to him responding that he was a puppet and not a doll.

@@BreakyOnline Basically Matpat made a theory saying that based on some of the FNAF books he thinks there was an ARG idea for FNAF that got scrapped and his idea of what it was going to be. /Unfortunately/ this also led to a bunch of restaurants in the area mentioned in the video being inundated with hundreds of phone calls, and Matpat had to put out a statement telling them all to knock it off. (Especially given he said he didn't even think that there WAS an arg, just plans for a scrapped one MAYBE)

This acctually scares me. Not a lot of horror thing can actually scare me, but this sent shivers down my spine.

I was really concerned when I found out Mat was gonna be covering this ARG. After what happened with Clown, I wasn’t sure how he was gonna handle this. But seeing how he handled this respectfully and maturely really warms my heart. Thanks MatPat, for recognizing the wishes and mental health of these amazing creators online.

​@dogecursor there has been blatant disregard to clowns boundaries in terms of content created with these characters, mainly with nsfw content. It resulted in Clown taking a hiatus from making more content

There's one thing not mentioned in this video that doesn't sit right with me, and that is Sally. On the guestbook page, one of the comments is written by a woman named Sally, and goes like this: "Wow, I thought I had completely forgotten about this show, but this website has reignited so many childhood memories I thought I had lost. Thank you for making this lovely site =)" The doodle next to it has the title "Sally is that you?" There's two other things to note here: 1. Sally is the only one in the guestbook who actually remembers watching the show as a child. 2. Her name is suspiciously similar to 'Wally' I think Sally might be a key part in unraveling what happened back in 1974. Edit: Sally is also the name of one of the characters

I loved how Welcome Home looks like this kids TV show from the 1980s...

i am not gonna lie i absolutely love these vids but the old Mat theories like finding out the speed of sonic and etc. i miss them

You know you gotta give MatPat credit for how much he truly does give Clown passion for all his work on Welcome Home. That is something that we mostly seen MatPat do before biggest example being FNAF, but here he truly does appreciate Clown a lot which made him analyzing the lore to be much more wholesome.

7:25 i rly appreciate matpat’s read on “you do?” - it sounds very cartoony/cutesy like it’s from a children’s show, but also strangely off-putting. love itttt, i’d love to hear more vocal switch-ups like that from him in the future

How very neighborly of you.

I would like to mention a detail you may have missed while looking through the website! During all the characters profiles (Except for Wally) They always say “Was a puppet” or “Was (so-and-so) best friend” When you go to Wallys page it says “Wally IS a puppet” and “Wally IS your best friend” Same with your character profile. Just something I thought I should mention

i don't know if this counts but it probably does, when looking at the wiki fandom of welcome home; all of the characters (except Wally) are referred in past-tense also. like barnaby _Was_ the resident jokester and so on. (this might be pretty obvious) looking at the photo of wally siting on a rock in the welcoming(?) website, home the "9th neighbor" is behind him in the background staring at him the black ovals behind those windows remind me of eyes.

From the new content, I wouldn't think Wally is not in charge of much.

15:13 i think maybe clown was getting at was that they originally planned for Wally Dear to be the main antagonist, hence wally being in that pose. I always had a hunch that Home was the 'big bad'. and Wally was the one trying to destroy Home's reach outside, by destroying evidence when he's able. but i haven't kept up with this series hence me rewatching!

I love so much how mat pat added in the fact we have to respect clown’s boundaries, it’s so nice seeing him do a theory on something I’ve been so excited about but also doing it respectfully. Thank you mat pat, we love your work.

Honestly, kudos to Clown, I love their work. I just hope they’re doing ok now, and that the general public is respectful to Clown and their privacy.

I’m gonna be honest, these types of theories are my favorite! Like the types of theories where the game or tv show or something is gonna come into the real world causing real world problems? I luv these theories a lot!

If twitter blows up about this video I’m gonna be so upset. He seriously does respect creators he tries his best as shown as the beginning. Cant wait to finish the video.

I kind of thought the signatures were similar since home is... a house that doesn't have hands and since Wally lives within home it makes sense for him to do Home's signature for them

If you copy the middle of the page of the Neigborhood Wally’s house completely disappeared but I checked the image file, it said “Home is welcomed home”

I've never been as big as Clown has now become but I've had periods of my life where I exploded in popularity in a fandom and it was always so paralyzing for me. I can imagine how spooked I was at my levels and just multiply it by 1,000 to imagine how Clown may be feeling. Oof!!

It was a typical video where he says about a minute’s worth of content stretched out to full video length. Including a whole segment where he breaks down evidence and then follows it up with a statement from the creator saying everything he’d just talked about isn’t canon.

Hey Mat! Just wanna let you know! As above so below originates from many other cultures and religions other than with Baphomet. In Wicca and Paganism, my mother taught me the phrase "as above, so below. As within, so without. As the body, so the soul." It's a phrase we teach that, in the short of it, the world effects us within us and we effect the world without us. What you do, and what anyone else does, has meaning behind it. We do it for a reason. The best example I can give is "the bully from school returns to an abusive household, he bullies kids because anger and violence is all he knows"

I absolutely love Clown’s work so far. Whether they choose to continue or not, whatever they do, I really appreciate the creativity and design and the puzzles!!!

A nice detail I saw with this website is that one of these links show Wally looking through a small rectangle, which looks suspiciously like a mail slot on a house's front door, asking us if we see and hear him. Then he says something like "be quiet" or something along those lines. It's almost like Wally's begging for help and doesn't want Home finding out. Almost like Home is keeping Wally trapped within its walls.

The site updated again but now there's more drawing from wally (voice recording) and insects (tape recording from the rest of the characters)

using the first combination of letters for the "try again" page, a phone will appear next to House, which by clicking on it, will pull up an audio recording of Wally asking for you to let him in

Another thing that I've noticed with the introductions to each character is that every neighbor, except Wally is written in past tense. ie: went, was, were. Meanwhile, Wally is the only one who's introduction is written in present tense ie: Is, now, ect..

ok so, if you click the black goo, then click the eye, it will play audio of creeks and other noises, also if you go to wally’s character page, click his painting, a audio will play, “your the most..hahaha..your so..still..what..are you doing.” If you go to the top of the guest book, and wait for him to spell out hello in the text bubble, then click it, he will say..I can’t remember but it’s not hard to see.
