The lady costume-artist is incredible. How she thinks of each and every character and their place in story at specific scene. She is a master.

The costumes are what makes this show so goddamn great. Without it the characters wouldn't be authentic, the time and place wouldn't be set, it wouldn't have the same feel of richness of cultures. It is my favorite part. I'm always amazed at the fabric and detail and unique aspect with hints to our own reality, but they still create an entirely new world.

yes! That was my first thought when I saw it!

I truly believe costuming can make or break a movie, and an invaluable tool for the actors who wear them. This woman's eye and talent are incredible.

The costumes seem like such a normal, hidden thing at first glance but actually thinking about how they make the fabric, Sequences, embroidery etc is nuts. Not only a hell lot of work that goes in it but also thought. Incredible

I wish they would this costume, design commentary for each season; I am really interested in the Season 7 one as I thought Dany and Cersei's costumes were amazing as well as the armor that many of the men wore at the Dragon Pit scene. This designer is truly amazing. . .I assume she has won an Emmy or Golden Globe for her work; if not, she deserves it--her integration of the character, the history, and the costumes is amazing!

at 12:44 you can see them filming the scene where he puts the finger on the baby's face... you can see the actor playing the Night King coo-ing and making baby noises with his mouth to calm the baby hahahaah

So, so cool! And I really loved Night King guy playing with the baby)) I mean, this guy is SCARY and yet the baby appeared to be having fun)) Makes total sense btw. Little guy had to get accustomed to NK's looks not to be bawling every time he'd be approached by this masterpiece of a monstrosity)))

Best costumes on TV! My only gripe is that the stones on Sansa's necklace were supposed to be purple not light blue.

Jonas Stæhr it actually is significant, as the poison "the strangler" is well known to be purple....this is noted in the books, which helps the reader determine how Joffrey was killed without it even being explicitly stated. its the Purple Wedding, because of both the poison's color and choking the victim purple.

Sinvisigoth Margaery's dress was very rich! I'm glad that it wasn't flashy/blingy as we don't see that style anywhere in Westeros! Ellaria was the most stylish, but Margeary was very elegant considering the time period!

Her work is so impressive. Wow, so many masterful costumes! Interesting documentary.

I wish people dressed like this now. The Mountain in overalls wielding a greatsword in one hand. How could you not want to submit to that?

What a wonderful opportunity for such a creative mind; so much diversity in each character's look! How exciting it is to see a concept become a reality, knowing that your ideas give the actors the inspiration to 'be' their characters. Dream job done by a masterful artist!

You'd probably get started with a degree in costume design, and then find an entry level job/internship in a studio and work your way up from there.

GoT costumes are awesome (just like in TW3), but what do we wear today? especially for guys, there's not much variations in the cuts and patterns. Even what most girls wear is utterly boring. Worst of all: try to find a decent coat today. In the old days, it provided some mobile shelter against the elements. Today, what you wear makes you completely we and cold and provides very little protection against abrasion etc.

I think the androgyny of his apparel really establishes how different he is from the Westerosi players as they exist in society with more rigid gender roles than they do in Dorne. But he does look very masculine in the outfit to the extent I didn’t think of the fact he basically is wearing a dress until a few months ago

Guessing the look of those scars would fit historical acounts of inuit and native american tribal tattoos, for inspiration.

I wish they've given the armor of the White Walkers/Others that reflective quality, but I guess that would've been a bitch to do without CGI.

I have seen copies of this and they get the textiles all wrong, no knowledge of textiles in that era at all. So why even bother. This exquisite design should never get an underscore.

about thingy Sansa has on her belt: if i were designer, would had made it screwtop container for needles. or simple cork-top. real thing - women had this on their belts, where to keep pins and needles. also, if designed as here, pointy end, is useful if some ppl do not understand personal space or are jus trying to kill or rape you. actuerly, no harm in carrying a knife as well, for lady. peasant women did, it is nice touch to national costume here.

@@JulieWallis1963 well, it is fantasy fiction in medieval pretty realistic setting (except that it happens to have dragons) - ppl are wearing realistic things, not fantasy veils or... fantasies :) look at attention to realistic details e.g. in LotR, hobbits' clothing and other. much fantasier fantasy there. elves and ents and whatnot. no harm in having nice and practical things even in fantasy word.
