The only S7 scene I liked just because of that conversation,the music, special effects etc was that one and the siege of casterly rock just because it was a pretty cool scene(despite all the obvious nitpicks/ plot holes)

i've always seen it similar to Ned and Robert's encounter at Winterfell in the first episode, when Ned's all serious calling him for his tittle and then gets called fat, removing all the tension in the scene

Exactly. I still love Season 7 honestly, but it’s an 8/10. Where as Seasons 1-4 are 10/10.

This scene at 7:20 is absolutely amazing, all those guys gathered together having that conversation in the dark, just epic.

Especially when Jorah spots Thoros! When the Greyjoys rebelled Thoros was first through the breach into the castle with his flaming sword and Jorah was right behind him! Jorah was Knighted by Bobby B right after it.

Tormund and Clegane absolutely steal this, need there own spin off with them just bantering each other.

In retrospect, Tormund’s demeanour was priceless. In a situation like that, someone with relentlessly optimistic humour would at first be a pain, but eventually be very welcome.

Richard Dormers voice 8:18 is beyond perfect for this moment. Effortlessly carries the mood. Hail to the lord of Blackhaven.

One of the crazy things about the GoT books is how much foreshadowing GRR Martin did. King Robert, in one of the very early episodes talking about the insanity of fighting Dathraki in the open fields. The other one that blows my mind. It was 25 years between the character Hodor being introduced in the books, and when the meaning of his name was finally revealed. Can you imagine keeping that secret that long..

You have got to be joking. Please tell me you are joking. GRRM had absolutely no idea what "Hodor" means when he wrote the first book. He had no idea about anything that goes on in the later books. He meant to write three books, maybe four, and only changed his mind because the books were so successful. That's why everything is turned upside down in the fourth book (or fifth?) This whole series had become a daily soap. That's why I stopped watching after Joffrey's death, the first time GRRM killed off a main character. _

Ned Stark was in the show so all the Stark siblings could get their roles and motivations. "But what about Robb?" In the first few episodes, I kept confusing Robb and John. That is no coincidence. Robb Stark was a placeholder so that John could go beyond the Wall first and then become the King in the North. So yeah. Joffrey really is the first protagonist who was killed. _

Who's fault was that? Martin had 6 years since the show's start to offer up an end (season 7), hell he hasn't even published one since that same year over a decade ago. AT least put the blame where it belongs. Of course the ending was rushed, it had been going 8 years by then. It was clear no new book was coming any time soon. How long were they supposed to wait? People do want to work on other things...

@@cineris2389 what do you mean? Martin gave them an ending, it was their job to make it a good one and they screwed up, badly, because they wanted to move on. You know what increases the chances of not getting hired by anyone else? Screwing up the biggest show because you rushed the job you were payed to do just so you can go and do another. Those two are horrible hacks and it was only Martin's guidance that kept that fact hidden for so long. When he stop covering for the idiots it became clear just how bad those people were at their job. They can't write dialogue, they can't write believable motivations, they can't even create logical events. The best they could come up was dick jokes, teleporting armies and plot armor.

Tormund and the Hound were the bromance I didn't know I wanted till it happened.

It did not have the writing of Season 1 but the Hound and Tormund's banter was pretty funny

So many good bits here, thank you :)

The one thing this show did for the world was show how really properly English people communicate with each other.

Problem IMO is they should have made every episode of the last season 2 hours (since D/D would not move from how many episodes due to contract, make them longer) because its obvious the writing was rushed DUE to the time constraints.
