Tyrion Lannister's Trial For Being A Dwarf (Game of Thrones)

Ойын-сауық

I must admit, I teared up while making this video (the original was created on October 12, 2018). There's something touching and heartbreaking about Tyrion's backstory. His confession may go down as one of the most captivating and most incredible speeches I've ever witnessed in all fiction.
Some scenes and Tyrion's speech has been edited out to avoid c*p*r*g*t issues.
I re-created the entire sequence of the trial with added callbacks and flashbacks to complete every moment.
*Thanks to "BlueFilm" for posting my original description of the video.

Bro, i saw your video like 8 month ago and then you got banned or something. I was so disappointed because i watched this exact Edit and it kinda touched my heart. I was hoping that u might re-upload videos from your channel, but i couldn't find it. And today i was doing some stuff and thought: |What if that dude came back?" And what i see? You came back! Wicked. I've waiting for you so much time so i even have old description of this video. If you need it: WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE LANNISTER? (2,375 total votes) Tyrion Lannister - 78% (1,873 votes) Jaime Lannister - 9% (214 votes) Tywin Lannister - 8% (205 votes) Joffrey (you're a madman) - 2% (55 votes) Cersei Lannister - 1% (28 votes) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you want to help and support my channel: paypal.me/najville I must admit, I teared up while making this video (not that I haven't with other videos, but there's something touching and heartbreaking about Tyrion's story). His confession may go down as one of the most captivating and most incredible speeches I've ever witnessed in all fiction. "Father, I wish to confess." (25:42) "I've been on trial for that my entire life." (27:57) I hope his character survives until the age of 80-with a belly full of wine and a... you know what's next.

Just saw your comment (it was held for review). Thank you so much for this. You have no idea how sad and mad I was at KZread. For many months, every appeal and countless tweets I posted to them were ignored and rejected. I basically had given up. Until I uploaded the videos again. Really appreciate this. I don't know how you got the original description but I am thankful for your support and sharing this.

Tyrion thinking to himself: “He’s right, I’m just a person. I’m not a monster despite my appearance. Why was I unloved by all? I didn’t do anything wrong. All I wanted was to be accepted.” As tears formed in his eyes he listened to Oberyn tell him that his sister wanted him dead for something he had no control over. A broken man unloved and unwanted by no fault of his own.

Even in the books he wasn't a monster. He was doing his best, and for the betterment of most folks, yet was embittered by the unyielding disdain because of his being a Dwarf. When he finally snapped and shot Tywin dead in the privy after being sentenced to death. He cut ties with his whole deceitful family, only to get his chance at getting even while in service of Deanerys. Even then, he still thought of the people of the 7 kingdoms and a sense of duty in keeping them out of harms way. The only real difference Ive noticed from the books to the show, was the severity of Tyrions facial injury. Where the cut across his face took of half his nose with it.

The fact that in his confession, Tyrion refers to Geoffrey as bastard ("watching your vicious bastard die ...") shows just how fed up he was with his family at this point. For long, people had suspected and spread rumours about Jaime and Cersei's relationship and the illegitimacy of Geoffrey and his siblings, but only a few people actually became sure of it after getting evidence, such as John Arryn and Ned Stark, and both were killed before they could make the truth public. In his outburst, Tyrion openly refers to Geoffrey as a bastard. He must have known that people would believe his words regarding this because he is the sibling to both Jaime and Cersei and as such, is the one person who would know the most about them having grown up with them. Secondly, he is a smart man, a fact that is well known to all, so fairly intelligent people would know that he knew what he was saying and doing, and that he wasn't just using that word 'bastard' just because of anger. He actually meant it. It's just one of the numerous incredible 'hidden' communications that were there in the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones, when the writing was incredible.

Something I noticed in this video with Tywin is that he uses the phrase "you are a Lannister" to Tyrion only when it suits him. He writes Tyrion off as being a drunken foolish dwarf but when Tyrion contradicts him he uses the "you are a Lannister" line to shut down any reasonable points Tyrion makes. Such as successfully defending Kings Landing, doing a good job as Hand of the King/Master of Coin, not killing Joffrey, and at the end to talk him out of not shooting him on the privy

His arrogance and drive to get a confession out of the Mountain was what got him killed, if he’d kept his distance and realised that a wounded opponent can still strike. He was too confident that the Mountain was almost dead, he never thought that he could strike again. It’s a shame because it would have been interesting to see what he could do during the later seasons, but then Tyrion wouldn’t have been guilty and had to escape and so much else would’ve changed. I'm always amazed by how close Tywin was to having it all, but throws it all away because of his need to be cruel and rub it in Tyrion's face. Joffrey was gone and Tywin didn't even have to do anything himself. Tommen is young and impressionable, will practically do whatever Tywin tells him. He finally gets Jaime back as the heir. He's also managed to get rid of Tyrion and send him to the Watch, all of this in one swoop. The Starks are crushed, Stannis is crushed and Tywin essentially would've ruled as King. I mean, he is sitting on the throne in Tommen's place during the trial! Yet he chooses to bring out Shae to humiliate Tyrion one last time, and all it ends in shit (literally).

That's not how it is in the books. When Jamie frees Tyrion in the books he confesses that the story of Tysha being a whore was fabricated by Tywin to hurt Tyrion. It's in this moment where Tyrion finally has NOBODY left and risks everything to go confront Tywin about Tysha and then kill him before escaping to the narrow sea and delving deep into his feelings of anger and vengeance, becoming the monster everyone always called him. Many think if GRRM ever decides to finish the goddamn series, Tyrion is going to be intentionally pushing Dany towards burning kings landing and killing everyone that betrayed him.

Its incredible how stupid so many people can be that they say that Tyrion was "too sensitive" , "too irational" and "too unfair" for ended up killing Tywin and Shae. Dude my dwarf had the world against him, everyone besides Jamie wanted him dead heck even the wh*re Shae lied to get him killed. Everyone in his place would have wanted to burn the whole realm

Strange really. For all of Tywin's intelligence, it's odd that he constantly berates Tyrion for not being smart or clever and cannot, or will not, acknowledge the fact that he is, in fact, smarter than most of them. I wish they'd kept the line from the book during the Privy scene, when Tywin says "You are not my son!" And Tyrion responds, "I AM! I am your son. I am you, writ small!" That line always stuck with me.

The one thing apart from his smartness which was quite distinct was he truly knew his family well,he knew his father was an egomaniac power hungry man who would literally do anything to retain it,his sister was a demonic soul but the only true love she had was for her children, even if they were born out of incest, the relationship she had with jamie was only out of sexual desires (this was deep buried in the character) and that's why it became an incest in a family because at her core she hated patriarchy she hated her father forced her to marry the king,he loved Jamie because even despite knowing what would be the end of her and Cersei he was willing to actually believe he can stop the ongoing catastrophe, and Jamie never labelled him as a dwarf or an outcast

I actually enjoyed Tyrion’s & Cersei’s relationship. I never see people speak on it. Although she hated him, I believe she found enjoyment in their verbal battles. In someway she respects how intelligent & clever he is; which is why she never followed through on killing him despite the many chances she had. He’s the only one (aside from Tywin) who could challenge her, intellectually. A truly underrated brother/sister dynamic
