I mean, I knew nothing about this situation, but have personal experiences to sympathize with him, and know the solution is not to bury it under the rug. That's not how you grow past the trauma in any way, shape, or form. You bury it, then it comes out years later as bottled up rage and frustration at a problem you never solved when you should have. It's the tail end of the cycle of hate, the bad guys walk away free because they fell into obscurity, while the victims pile up, too scared to talk out Too scared because people on the internet tell them it's bad to talk about bad situations. If you want to really blame them, there’s plenty of ammunition. But unlike most people, I choose to respect DingDong’s wishes and not be petty.

It sucks that this whole discussion got started on stream because Matt W. donated money on stream and Ding Dong wanting to refund the amount cause he felt like Matt only did it out to save public face like “everything is fine with us”. Ding Dong said that he hated to bring it up on stream and that he wishes they could all be friends but it seems that Matt was putting his publicity/relations with game grumps first before DD & J friendship which sucks to hear

I was one of the few that stood up for dude in 2017 because his (oneyplays with them in it) videos helped me cope with the loss of my father due to cancer they were what made me laugh and feel free these 2 deserve so much more for what it’s worth Edit: people in school at the time that liked game grumps and shit and we’re into edgy memes made fun of him and it saddened me to my core because why do that to someone that was about to lose their life, he may not be a doctor that cures cancer or the guy to make world peace but he is someone that makes content that helps those who need an escape and their fan base to me is a showing of how many people just wanted to go back to the days of sitting with a few friends and playing a single player game when you die you hand off the controller it brought me back to when I was a kid made me feel nice ya know

I’m torn because DD would not have wanted this video to be made he states it multiple times, he just wants to leave this behind. To some extent I can understand because all the attention and support they are getting now should have happened back then but it’s too little too late now. It would be better to help them by supporting their games. However part of me kind of wants this to blow up because what happened was disgusting and the people involved in that situation should be the ones black listed from the industry. It’s a gross injustice that shouldn’t be forgotten. Even if I disagree we should have listened to Ding dong and just let this go.

I figured that out after Jon's racism controversy in 2017 (which he already apologized and explained), Game Grumps even said in a live event that year that Jon most likely won't be a Guest Grump, and that was the last time they mentioned Jon, and from there, they basically "Voldemortizised" Jon to the point that it seemed that no one was allowed to say his name Not even in the "10 years special", if that's what Arin calls friendship, then this doesn't surprise me And the guys from OneyPlays invited Jon to their channel because they don't care about corporative image, they just want to play games with a friend

It's definitely important for people to develop independence and inner strength, but its not appropriate to suggest Ding Dong just being more responsible for his life would somehow wipe away the hurt of abuse and doxxing. These broad quotes have implications good and bad. It can make discussion difficult to have to consider what offends and what doesn't every sentence, but it's still worth learning about the impact of words because they're the most widespread tool we have to communicate, or at the very least the top 3.

For some reason Bowblax talking about Ding Dong and Julian is really surreal to me. Maybe it's just because I've watched this channel for a while and Oney Plays for a while and just considered them different spheres on my KZread.

What gets me about all of this is the fact that…. Nothing Ding Dong said was out of line. Matter of fact, it all seemed very fair, and if you played Dream Daddy, pretty damn spot on if we’re being honest. So these dudes shunned this guy, outed him to his family, and pushed him to consider suicide….. over some fair criticism. And then have the nerve to basically pretend it never happened. That’s one way to sign a ticket straight to Hell.

Yeah Arin tries very hard to seem like a good dude on camera but he always thinks of the business first, never the people. Ding Dong and Julian deserve better than the internet. To this day I hope they are happy and healthy.

I'm so happy I stopped watching Game Grumps 5 years ago. I used to watch them religiously in 7th grade, but I grew tired of them after they changed up their content a bunch. I honestly wouldn't know how to react to any of the stuff they've done in recent times if I was still a fan. The situation with Arin and Sr Pelo was just goofy, the one with Dan sexting fans was icky, but I think this new situation with Ding Dong is gonna take the cake in terms of how far the Grumps have crossed the line. I've since converted to watching OneyPlays, and I actually watched that part of Ding Dong's stream beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if they both put on the squeaky clean social justice personas they've adapted just to cover up their horrid behavior from behind closed doors. Something I find really interesting about this news is that it's coming out around the same time that I filed my own allegations against these two people who harrassed me in college. My own case shares a strong discrimination component with Ding Dong's, which is why I believe he's telling the truth. If the Grumps' past controversies didn't get them canceled before, then this is 100% gonna be the one to do it.

I was aware of the basic gist of why DingDong and Julien left. That DingDong was doxxed and Game Grumps as a company were behind it. But after finding a compilation of the abuse on KZread on my home page. It shocked me. Especially as a supermega fan. Learning Matt is not really a good friend. The death threats that were received. And someone on the team doxxing DingDong it hurt. I’m glad though that both DingDong and Julien are together with each other and there for one another.

Not sure if DD deleted his own comment on here or what (not going to accuse even if it is kind of strange that I can no longer find it), but it still speaks volumes to me that comments about how “he should have dropped names”, or how “GG is trash”, yadda yadda, are still being hearted. Some were made as little as 13 hours ago as I post this, so I’m sure Bowblax is still reading comments made on this video. Doesn’t matter if it’s all of them. I’m still going to say what I feel like needs to keep being said People are still asking you to take this down, and DD still has his remarks on Twitter, whether the comment he made on this video was taken down by his choice or not. Bowblax knows what they’re doing - and no, I’m not going to call him a villain for it. It’s just disappointing how “getting this out there” is more important to a majority than it is to respect the wishes of the victim. I don’t blame DD for going quiet on his socials. I just found out about all of this today. I’ve been following him for a while and this is a pretty upsetting thing to happen. Especially knowing that Bowblax knew Ding Dongs feelings on the situation.

Even when Game Grumps started, Arin always struck me as two-faced and like he was putting up a front of friendliness and kindness. I watched rarely for JonTron, and stopped when he left. To see that the entire workplace was like that... if Arin isn't involved, I'll be genuinely surprised, but all the same I hope for the best for DD and Julian, and pray that GG reaps what they sow.

Also at best i say this is a hero complex where Bowblax still thinks he's doing the best for them even though it clearly hasn't. At worst this is just one big monetized ad for his game grump like gameplay series. The ad idea is highly speculative and only just gives off that vibe so don't take it as fact without proof from Bowblax himself of course but essentially- make a video thats monetized and originally has a clickbait thumbnail with Arin in it when he holds as we know currently nothing for this drama that delves into a horrible work experience and suicide attempt, claim you are doing it for the betterment of the victims. 2-3 vids later make "Replacing Game Grumps" to introduce his series. As someone who’s off and on watched Oney Plays and Supermega since 2016, Game Grumps being terrible/fake is not that surprising given their actions since 2017. But Matt Watson’s role in this is shocking to me and he needs to address this (even though I’m sure he won’t). He’s consistently stated on podcasts that he loves ding dong and that they are friends. Knowing that he has a big role in this drama from 2017 and has been a fake friend only weirdly acknowledges ding dong online when convenient is very strange and I get DD not wanting to be his friend.

supermega has stated multiple times “joking” that the game grumps are bad people so who knows really. I don’t really know the full situation but to me matt wanted to speak up but when the time came he didn’t because there was too much on the line, game grumps paid them so ofc they are gonna suck up to their bosses. So, DingDong asked Bowblax for this video to be taken down as to not drag him into old drama, Bowblax refused because he believed GG should be held accountable, and now DingDong's youtube and Twitter have been self-purged. I understand wanting to make sure GG doesn't get away with what happened to him and Julian, but the man asked people not to pursue it and it's very obvious that it's affecting him. Seriously, dude, if you actually cared about holding GG accountable and helping DingDong and Julian, you'd be better off covering other behind the scenes problems that GG has. Criticism towards them most definitely isn't a barren field.

Oneyplays is everything Game Grumps wishes they could be. Supportive, funny, and amazing talented people on every episode. I'm glad Ding Dong and Julian left, the shit the Grumps have done were deplorable.

Glad julian is able to help dingdong, i thought they stopped talking as i havent seen them show up on oneyplays in about a year but theres obviously alot of real personal reasons they just havent been on there, hope theyre doing well

He basically called out Arin for being fake and rude to others, especially when it's over stuff that literally is what Arin would do that got him famous. A better than you attitude and the nerve to shame others for the same things he did/does.

I understand this is big news but, at the same time, as someone who watched the original DD rant, he specifically said he wants to put this behind him and that people keep dragging him back into this. Maybe the best thing to do is just let it go. I feel like making vids on it will just keep the abuse coming on our DD.

I hope DD and J can put all the shitstorm behind them. They didn't deserve one bit of all that bullshit. Game Grumps turned into a typical LA entity: a bunch of fake, clout-chasing, back-stabbing, holier-than-thou pricks. What really really sucks is that, even after all of DD's "friends" left him out to dry, DD never named any names or threw anyone under the bus. DD was loyal to people that were never loyal to him.

I appreciate Dingdong and Julian, because they do really understand how things are. Some of the most down to earth people on the platform. Or at the very least super self aware. The fear of not being taken seriously because of cancel culture is totally warranted, even I'm at the point now where I see certain buzzwords "exposing" a group or person and I just immediately disregard it. If it wasn't Dingdong saying it I probably would have taken this all with a much larger grain of salt. Corporate places like this always tend to have these social issues. It's all people with masks on masks on masks all trying to manipulate on another. It's horribly tiring and I have to imagine just kills the soul if you work there for as long as they did.

If you think it absolutely has to be talked about, then it should be in a way that is most respectful to the victims of said acts. If DD is telling blow he did something wrong here, least he could do is listen.

Hey, people here should actually watch the stream DingDong posted about this whole thing before acting like a band Salem witch hunters. Before you act on their behalf, maybe actually understand what DingDong has to say about all this shit. Otherwise, just use his trauma for yourselves, something of which he actually predicted would happen in his stream.

If you actually cared about Ding Dong and Julian, you’d delete this and stop using their suffering for personal clout.

Okay. You say you contemplated not uploading this video out of respect for Ding Dong's explicit wishes, hence why the full stream was taken down, but justify it in saying that it would prevent future abuse from within the Game Grumps company. Do you really think that any of them are going to change in response to this video, let alone Ding Dong's stream, considering the inhumane lengths they have gone? They literally doxxed DD and even contacted his family and outed him for being gay simply because he spoke out about a game they were making. When he attempted suicide, they not only brushed it off after he told them, but they effectively encouraged him to do it out of spite for people they didn't like. Not only that, but as described in the now deleted full stream, the GG crew also went to absurd lengths to defend Shadman, a friend of theirs who not only drew distasteful and offensive hentai for a living, including Nazi stuff, incest, and fictional children, but even drawing pictures of and sending said pictures to real minors he was grooming. They literally defended a pedophile and a CP artist up until it was convenient to disown him when everything was piling up against him. If they were willing to go that far largely for their own social climbing, they're not going to change. They are despicable human beings and are deserving of ridicule and shame, but it's not going to phase them. This will continue to happen regardless of community backlash and the making of videos like these. They didn't change then, they won't change now, and I sincerely doubt they will change in the near future. The only way they will is if GG shuts down or the people responsible are forced out and lose their social power over others. Videos like these only further embroil DD and Julian into an ever swirling shitstorm of KZread drama where 9 times out of 10, the only people that really come on top are the perpetrators because there's no consequence to their actions, especially since this was from half a decade ago. I think you uploaded this, most of which being the reuploaded clip from the stream that will more than likely be taken down soon, purely for views because it's a hot topic and you knew people with any modicum of investment or interest would click it, especially in the event the stream is taken down and with a title like "Game Grumps ABUSES their Employee DingDong." I'm not trying to dunk on you or act like a total smart ass, I'm just saying it how it is, or at the very least how it comes across from my angle. This isn't for DD or anyone's benefit at all.

The sensationalist title/thumbnail and the fact that this is uploaded by a self claimed "drama channel" WITH midroll ads really tramples that "protect the people!" statement at the end. Also 90% of the video was just a cropped part of the stream, something that DD literally criticized the OG reuploader for doing and Bowblax showed it on this very own video. I'm genuinely afraid of the traction that this video (and some others) will bring for Ding Dong and Julian. I wouldn't put it past GG to straight up sue for defamation or something similar. That would be especially tragic since they're already struggling economically.

I been a big fan of OneyPlays and the old hosts DingDong and Julian for years watching them from the start and it is sad that the Game Grumps team had been so bad to them and put them froth so much shit. People need to know about this bad stuff justice for DingDong and Julian.

Good take at the end of the video. This is something that should be talked about not to Ding Dong and Julian of course and I hope that others respect that, but to simply let it die in silence just lets the this happen more across the Internet where people who speak out take the fall and are conspired against with lies and manipulation and met with silence from people they thought they were close with. DingDong posted a statement saying he really didn't want this sensationalized and reuploaded like this, both him an Julien want to distance themselves from it all and any "drama" videos like this are not helping, in fact they're making the situation worse. I wouldn't expect anything less from screaming old Bowbie here though.

I'm very glad, hearing about all of this, that he did unload like this. It's clear that Ding Dong had pre-existing issues that they've been struggling with prior to being treated like this that caused them to crumple under the pressure. The suicide attempt in particular, the way they talk about their justification, it sounds very familiar to me and for most of my life I've felt like all of my trauma is my fault and my response to being abused has always been to ignore the possibility that I could change anything or that it was even possible for others to be in the wrong because of their actions. It's similar for a lot of people who live through abusive relationships of all kinds, you tolerate things you never should have for way to long because you internalize yourself as being the only common denominator, so when you see a pattern of abuse, the only sensible conclusion to make is that you're the problem. Whether that's out of fear, or gaslighting, or love, when people who are suffering feel like that it creates a feedback loop that can last potentially forever because until something in the cycle breaks and you realize this isn't normal you just no longer have an outside perspective and your whole world looks like pain. To get up on a public platform like this, on his own stream, his own space, supported by Julian, and pull no punches, to be completely honest about his experiences, to be loud, to react appropriately, to be this blunt about things so personal, to do everything he was conditioned to never do for years of his life, it's not only brave, not only, I imagine, cathartic, but this is exactly the kind of shit people who have been in these situations need to do to reclaim their lives and sanity. Ding Dong is right about all of this, it's fucked up and it's not okay, and he's absolutely allowed to call out this horseshit. That's what's really important. Abusers prosper when their victims don't fight back. Now it doesn't matter what these cretins do, because Ding Dong is not only willing to defend himself if pushed, but he's capable of doing it too. The actual "drama" or what any of his abusers do from here doesn't matter, what matters is that Ding Dong is done playing the punching bag for these assholes and is going to live his life now the way he wants. And that's awesome. That's what makes him a true bad ass.
