Today’s feature literally bet on himself, was caught and lost his chance to compete in the NBA forever. Jontay Porter the league alleges, took advantage of his position as a player on the team and a worker of the NBA, to give insider information to sports betters about things like his status for games and even the outcome, going as far as placing bets on his own team to lose the game. He’s the second person to be banned for life under commissioner Adam Silver, and in a statement Silver stressed the importance of keeping the game as fair as possible and the integrity of competition. American sports betting became legal in 2018 and we knew at some point there would be individuals taking advantage of that new market to get rich quick or simply scratch their gambling addiction itch. But you’d never think of an individual like Jontay Porter, whose worked so hard to finally get his chance in the league, and was playing well in those small spurts of action. The NBA became alarmed and focused on Porter, after a bet on his performance was made for 81,000, and if the bettor won, they’d receive over a million dollars. Well that person won and received the large sum of money, but attached to it was a fishing line that led the NBA right to Jontay Porter. He finally got his chance making the league but... I sports bet. My book never had him on the board for bets. Didn't play enough minutes to make the cut. I question why the book had betting options for him in the 1st place, other than to take peoples money.

Why would they blacklist a productive player to satisfy a league that has nothing to do with them? Foreign leagues are distinct from the NBA. He’ll just play overseas

You got to do some players that went to West Virginia, Marshall, and Davidson Players that went to West Virginia Deshaun Butler, Jonny West, Kevin Jones, Devin Ebanks, Joe Alexander, Joe Mazzulla, and Kevin Pittsnogle Players that went to Marshall Noah Frampton, Jon Elmore, Hassan Whiteside, DeAndre Kane, Players that went to Davidson Luke Frampton
Played against him all through aau basketball he had good skill and potential but lacked that dog in him! Even in hs he wasn’t a guy that would give you 30 point but he would give you 15-20 points around 10-12 rebounds and a few assists and 2-3 steals and 2-3 blocks. If he woulda stayed in college he more than likely would have the same affect as Kegan or Kris Murray (plays for kings and trailblazers)
Everybody knows how idiotic it is, it’s only made so much worse knowing that he had all the right guidance around him and took all the right steps to get and stay in the NBA that not a lot of young guys know to do.
Betting on a game you’re in? That doesn’t bother me… Betting against your team though? That’s a KRS track, outta here!!!

Players are individuals, Referee are part of NBA WING, I’m pretty sure Adam knows some of these refs are corrupt, but the moment you open the Pandora’s box, NBA IS DONE. This is why it’s so hard to watch Sports especially betting is now legal, 50% of ads are own by gambling company…

I think it's stunted due to the salaries that NBA players make today and he flushed it down the toilet. This isn't the salary for the players from the 80s and 90s. Even the bottom of the bench gets a very VERY high 6 digits to low 7 digit salary today.
