I think the border conflict between India and China is being overinterpreted. They are both nuclear powers, and if their conflict is limited to cold weapons, it is actually peaceful and is more like a conflict between two groups of people rather than between two countries. But, both China and India have risen under leaders who leverage nationalistic sentiments to rally their people.Even if both governments are very restrained but neither wants to show weakness.

Current important figures from China to India in USD in23 ,/24 is estimated 100 Billion USD.

Most of them are clueless about economy. Why China has become India's largest trading partner? There are synergies between the 2 big economies. China's economy is far from collapsing and India gets components from China for all the main sectors of India in automobile, pharmaceutical and telecommunication industries. Indian doesn't really buy lamp shades, toys and plastic baaltees from China.

We Indians need to hear more of such discussions & become aware of our neighborhood. Thanks 🙏

China is our largest trading partner. As far as the Chinese exports to India are concerned, they are growing by leaps and bounds as per the latest data. The trade imbalance is also massive.

Yes the focus should on balance of trade. That is are the real wealth comes from. Gpd is useless. It is like saying I made gdp 1,000,000 USD a year, but my committed expense is 1,000,500. I will never have any saving and no wealth.

@iaindcosta Try imagining ladakh and tibet has no boundary. To a Tibetans, ladakh is tibet. The word ladakh, what non tibetans may called, is a foreign word to tibetan. So what oitsider called the region ladakh, is totally Tibet, for tibetans.

India lost 50-60 years of time thinking hindi chini bhai bhai🤔.Just imagine former defence minister during UPA government said that what is the use of construction of border infrastructures china will used them to invade india and this statement was given in parliament which showed the seriousness of national security.But we are fortunate to have Modi ji who has been doing tremendous job in national security issues,border infrastructures even in remote areas.Thank you for having this talk with national security think tanks and we need such talks quite often👀🤔🙏

Abrogation of 370 and balakot made them understand that pakistan can no longer be their proxy to keep India tied down. In top of that came donglang. Therefore they had to di it themselves. That is the main reason behind this attack. Probably they did not anticipate this prolonged Indian deployment.

Few points of order - General public does not use 'he' when referring to Chinese PLA forces or China per say. Seems to me mostly military folks in India use such jargon. Why not use "they" or China as a better placeholder for "enemy forces". Kindly include the high definition maps when it comes to addressing China related border issues. China shares borders with 9 neighboring countries. After WWII, borders between many nations were in dispute largely a result of all the deceptive and irresponsible manipulation by the imperial powers during the 19th and early 20th century. Over the years, China has peacefully resolved its border disputes with all its neighbors except India and Japan. Listening to this panel, it’s clear that there is absolutely no hope for a resolution any time soon. Any dispute requires compromise from both parties. It also requires trust, goodwill and acceptance of the other side. All I hear is animosity, distrust, wishing the worst for the other side. It’s sad and pathetic.

The only way we can fight Chinese imports is by reducing the cost of production by removing regulations and taxes by lowering the cost of governance by reducing the number of government servants.

We hope what we call this special programme will not refurbish whats in the minds of indian military strategist mind for adversaries to preplan further fox moves in days to come. Is there any such programmes being conducted on the other sides? Just precaution.

Modi had met Xi 18 times prior to galwan clash of 2020 and they have discussed everything under the sun. But there is no news of them discussing crucial border issues

If your neighbor tries to bully you whenever according to his convenience and advantages and there are no REPERCUSSIONS, it is eminent that he will try again. You have to convince yourself and your enemies that you will go down to any level to maintain your respectability and Position.

The reality is that neither side can "win big". Neither China nor India can take a big piece of land from each other. If either manages to do it in a sneaky fashion, the result is a fierce battle. It is time for these two countries to accept the reality and cede whatever they do not control now. Make today's line of control the official border. And concentrate your energy and resources on solving problems of your own society. Education, pollution, healthcare.

Great Panel…Insightful discussion….Are our think tanks, policy makers and military minds exploring ways and means to take back Aksai Chin? What’s the significance of Chinese constructions in our neighbourhood (very close to our borders) and how India should go about it?

Our biggest trading partner still is China with a huge bias in their favour. ☹️Till this situation is sorted out , they shall continue to have an upper hand.

A good discussion between experts, yes. But what it has emphasised and reinforced , repeatedly, is India's weaknesses in several areas and on several points. 1) we are always trying to "be prepared" and hence always playing catch-up. 2) we are still trying to convince ourselves that we are a peaceful and pace-loving nation that never invaded other countries. This is inherently false and is the legacy of Pandit Nehru and Buddhism, neither of which has had much success in india. 3) China and it political and military strategists are inherently expansionist. Thus they are never to be trusted. Any speech about peaceful cooperation iz inherently false. They aim to be the dominant fonce regionally and globally, as well as economically and militarily. 4) China, unlike India, is pri-actu e and plans long-term. You can see it even in their board game go-take, in which the aim is to surround the opponent. 4) China aims to keep India as a major customer who provides a major for Chinese manufacturing. Thus our traders fall into their trap because Indians (like most other nationalities) are looking to make quick profits. This is the biggest mistake because ir has in read and will continue to increase our dependence on goods and technology from China.. From chemicals, to pharmaceutical intermediates, to agrochemical, telephones and communication software and hardware, toys and even Lord Ganesha idols and now EVs - Indians are hungrily buying from the Chinese. That, forever, will be the weakness that China can and will continue to exploit. 5) India has always ignored the northeastern region, even treating the indigenous peoples line second-class citizens, while paying more, undue attention to Pakistan on the northwest. This remmins in China's favour. Not only is our infrastructre woefully inadequate, but the economic and cultural integration and growth is nowhere near enough. We are, as usual, Delhi-cebtrIC, to the detriment of our borders.. So, unless we become pro-active and think long-term and stop telling ourselves that we are peace loving and nin-expansionist, China will always have the upper hand.

Be prepared for all out and everything 😮😮😮

Sir, these umbrellas , lamp shades are good, but govt. Of India needs to intervene, as these guys who make it in India ( are charging exuberantly), these factories and organisations cannot charge exuberantly ( 30-40 %) maybe ok on some items, but we cannot have people looting in the name of “ make in India”.

Need to stop india pharma industry. They are big importer of chinese ingredients.

Why government is not streamlining the sectors which are dependent on export from china and increase the custom duty slowly and steadily and meet with leaders with the industry and ask them to manufacture this items in India. Just to save some money people go to China
