Jaishankar On Congress’ Doublespeak On China & Why Modi Will Win 2024 Lok Sabha Polls | Exclusive

In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times’ Editor-In-Chief Sukumar Ranganathan and Executive Editor Shishir Gupta, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar speaks on India’s foreign policy challenges amid global turbulence. Jaishankar also lashes out at the Congress over the party's 'doublespeak' on China and the row over the Shaksgam Valley. Jaishankar also opens up about India’s ties with the U.S. & Canada after baseless allegations of Indian involvement in the killings of Hardeep Singh Nijjar & the alleged plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. India’s external affairs minister also explains why the Modi government will emerge victorious in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Watch this full video for all the details.

Guess, what is paradoxical is that while Indian foreign ministers, as a rule, have been elected politicians of the ruling party and clueless on foreign affairs, Jaishankar, a career bureaucrat, as FM has not only excelled on the job, but his polite, cerebral, articulation of Indian policies in domestic and international forums have earned him international recognition as one of the best FM globally. To top that he has displayed unexpected political savvy in communicating and, more importantly, educating the media and the common folks on the intricacies and dilemmas of Geopolitics and its impact on India’s national security and why Modi and BJP are the right party to handle these challenges in the current global turmoil. In fact, many voters view him as a prime reason to vote for BJP. Therein lies the paradox that contrary to conventional wisdom, an apolitical career bureaucrat has not only excelled as FM, but also as an effective election campaigner!

I'm usually a big fan of Dr Jaishankar for his Frank, succinct and yet diplomatic answers. However on the accusations leveled by the opposition on the border issue(s) with China, it was disappointing to hear his purely political stance. It would've been nicer to know what exactly the govt was doing about it now, since anyway everything this govt inherited was what had been done by the previous governments including that of Nehru's. They've handled a lot of mistakes by their predecessors pretty well. Would've been more hard hitting hearing something similar on this one too (especially since he's also a subject matter expert) than merely pointing fingers at them for their mistakes, which anyway can now be not corrected. If impact was what he was seeking, it's certainly not there. This sounds more like washing your hands away on such a serious matter instead of finding solutions to what's happened, which is what realism dictates.

I would like to remind ....n dont forget... after a country becomes master of everything they face turns and lefts with currency dominance, socialism, change of adaptations, change in humanity, loosing original value and all becomes digital.. from a relation with parents to placing 6ft under. No country had become less stressful when they try to get in to super power. Today water is passed through machines to drink, vegetables and meat through process so canned or even fresh produce stays longer in weather and even loaf of bread doesn't have nutritional... dont kniw white corn_wheat used has nutrtiin left before making bread or its just powder of chenical byproduct.

I was thinking of posting something in response to this video and use the word weasel for him, however as soon as he said, "nobody builds technology on services, you need manufacturing to build technology" (44:50 to 45:07). Having said that, the government has NOT done anything significant to push the country in that direction so far, in the past 10 years. That not only can move the country towards self-reliant eventually, but first it will address our employment crisis as well. If, if, in case Modi wins the third term, then the government will need to produce some results within a year. However so far, Modi has been high on hyperbole and low on strategic achievements.

I like Mr. Jaishankar, but nationalism he is mentioning it different from patriotism. Nationalism is a fascist trait.

Sanatan Community and World Prosperity Part 5 (Break and Connecting Lines of World Prosperity) Today, while the world's fate seems to be breaking on one side, on the other, the rise of ‘Sanatan’ is reconnecting the lines of destiny. Let's understand this symbolically. The world's destiny has always been in the hands of the great leaders of the earth. Over the past thousand years, prosperity was first in the hands of Islam, then Europe, and now America. These leaders maintained peace and security globally, impacting the lives of billions and creating thousands of wealthy individuals, thereby establishing their dominance. As a result, the per capita income of the dominant country increased, and with future technological industries in its grasp, its dominance remained for a long time. Today, America is unable to maintain peace and security in the world and, although it affects billions of lives, not in a positive or exemplary way. China has taken this place by producing essential goods at low costs, and in the next 5-10 years, the Sanatani community will produce and deliver goods at low costs. This means that India has learned to transport goods domestically at less than ₹10/ton/km, which is the world's need, and leaders like Adani in India are also fully prepared at the global level. Similarly, Ambani in telecom and Tata in auto and high-tech have prepared to produce and distribute world need at low costs worldwide, improving the lives of billions and thus leaving a Sanatani mark. In the same way, the work that high-income per capita countries were doing is now being done by the Sanatanis of India. For instance, reducing the impact of climate change, involving people in democracy, establishing global peace as a freelance nation, countering fake propaganda on social media, and creating an atmosphere of development instead of destruction within the country. Remember that Biden's administration in America has been commendable, but the narrative is more in favor of Trump. Amid the Sanatani community, today’s administration and progress are under the current government, so despite the pressures of social media, the narrative also belongs to them. The Sanatanis have mastered new and high technologies for administration and progress and are fully prepared to share their benefits with the world, leading to global prosperity. People will witness glimpses of this after June 4th. The same Adani, whom the opposition surrounded the government over, will now, thanks to him, deliver low-cost goods and services distribution globally, making the world prosperous. Ghalib said, "Sar lo teli nau adheli (poor oilman valued high)." The world will see how Modi, the teli (oilman), is going to create a significant puzzle not just for India's prosperity but for the world. Best wishes for global prosperity by Sanatan community Dr Shailendra Bharat, National Political and Strategic Advisor, Maulik Bharat
