Thanks for sharing Beau's collection. I have model kits and 100% Hotwheels of most of Ed's cars in my collection. I like the Honda, looks like a life size doodle. Reminds me of a story in Hotrod magazine back in the 80's. Ed and other pinstripers/ artists threw a birthday (?) Party for Von Dutch and one of the guests invited everybody to pinstripe his Lincoln rental car. End result was not pretty. 😁

Amazing cars! Not only a crazy imagination for the build...they actually are drive-able (or fly-able).

Kudos to Dave Shuten who restored or recreated most of these machines. Great to see the reincarnated Ice Truck (Built by Dan Woods designed by Ed Newton).

can you guess who this is, he is the most famous unknown custom car builder of all time. here he is pictured in Dean Jeffries shop starting to customize the original Monkee Mobile, wearing his trademark lab coat Karl Krumme built the Bat Mobile 1, meaning he did the customization of the Futura for George Barris, as i remember it was because no body else in Georges Stable of Customizers thought there was enough time and there was a lime limit in the contract. Karl also built the Munster Mobile, and the Paul Revere & the Raiders Coach with Randy Wright from his airport hanger where he did his work, he also did The Car for Barris Customs as well as many Ford Concept cars including the original Pantera #1 and the Corvette Summer Cars for Richard Korkes, The Blade Runner cars for Gene Winfield. So now you know who was the most famous unknown Custom Car Builder of all time is. He was my dad and i was lucky enough to see some real cool projects as a kid

Karl, must have been a blast growing up around/ in the middle of the custom car culture. I can only imagine. I've actually known who your dad is since I was a kid, his name will always be around the custom car world in my opinion.

Its a shame Barris never gave more credit to the people who built cars for him. Your dad made the cars I grew up admiring as a kid. You're a lucky guy Karl!

I'd love to see a video on Dan Woods' 'Ice Truck', that's in the background all thru this video. AFAIK there's nothing on YT about this incredibly, unique, innovative cool car. (Hot rods from the 70s get no love- too recent to be "old school", but way too old to be "current"

I absolutely agree. Ice Truck is totally under-rated and info on it is hard to find. I have an original 1970 Rod and Custom magazine that had a buildup feature but they never showed the finished car. I would REALLY love to see it running! Can't understand why this amazing rod is so overlooked.

I actually don't buy or use the service of any Company whose owners collect cars. An example? Champion Roofing is the biggest in the South Bay whose owner collects cars. They are also the most expensive.
