    For those who can't figure out how to apply the adhesive you cut to fit and apply where needed. Otherwise you can purchase the replacement screens and rear glass with adhesive.

    I must've watched atleast 15 videos before I settled to use this one to attempt the screen repair. Ive repaired screens before but not a basta*d Samsung. This video helped me IMMENSELY and I successfully replaced the screen. Though I will say I tried to replicate what you did with the adhesive with stacking, my recent button wouldn't work properly, I lifted the bottom and removed a strip of adhesive and resealed with some adhesive glue. It now works perfectly. The adhesive for me why the hardest part, if I were to do it again I wouldn't use as much. Greatly appreciate your video

  • @FixItPlanet1

    @FixItPlanet1

    6 жыл бұрын

    It is very difficult to do glass only repair by hand. A heat gun or hot air station will more likely cause heat damage to the display. Otherwise with the proper expensive equipment it is not impossible just not practical for one repair.

We may decide to expand what we sell in the future but not yet. That display is very expensive (the glass only is cheap but requires more labor, UV glue, special tools etc.)

    Yes..I did use a hair dryer for the removal of the "back glass"..(note, Not the Front!!!)...the hair dryer, was on high...for about 45 secs...as i moved around the back edges..focused around the edges..You do not want to heat the inside..like the battery or the touch pad area.....I felt the back layer, with my fingers..I.e the temperature is just "hot" enough to be able to hold...as i pry open..using a PLASTIC pry tool...(Not Metal..as i didnt want to SHORT any electrical connections like on the mother board!!... i didnt allow the edge- layers to stick back again by inserting a plastic card, or guitar pick, all around the edges...Dont force the layers apart!!! with too much force..as the back glass is flimsy and cracks easily..(i can only guess the reason it is glass is because the wireless charger may need that and not metal etc..just a guess..but inwould have used thin plastic...but than i dont know specifics. so pull and pry just enough for the Back layer to be moved away. So heat and pry ..and repeat..be patient and slow work helps. Do not push the pry tool too far in...although there is no great danger like in S9 where a ribbon cable connector is in the way...especially at the top..around the camera lens areas..SO start from bottom corners...so again slow work around the edge...Not much glue in the centre. When finished and you are replacing the back layer , if not cracked..or if slightly cracked...you can alays use some stickyvtaoe etc to strengthen the inside ...as a nice back civer later will cover it anyaway!! You may want to buy a sticker sheet ...instead of using a glue tube...A sticker layer specific for the model to stick the back layer..glue sticker sells online for about $2...and back glass layer cab be about $5. The Challenge is the front...and my guess why the phone needs to taken apart to change just the glass layer (high difficulty)...is most likely because of the heat that needs to be used...and we do not want the logic board and other components from being heated. Of course if you think you can...like in some videos go ahead. But if you replace the LCD display WITH frame it's a lot easier...but slightly more expensive. Most replacement I see are from canibalised sets...which means they cab fail soon...I have seen a different OEM displays that maybe better or slightly less brighter..by some manufacturers...and I prefer the new ones.but I guess older models don't make commercial sense for OEM manufacturers to produce...unless it's iPhone screens that seem to have more demand...Not Androids..SO..cheaper phones have more cheaper spare parts..but for a shorter time...and replacement costs are more than the phone..which is crazy..frustrating...but I guess that's life!!!

    If the screen is damaged you already lost water resistance. It will never be as good as a factory seal, but you can get the original adhesive strips and if you do a good job it will be better that when it was damaged.

    $200, I can't find an OEM class "A" for less than $260 . I'm not into the Chinese-ium knock off class "B" and "C" screens.

    It is working so far -which I know cause I tested it with the motherboard and battery I already have. Repair wise, I still haven't removed the broken screen glass on the digitizer I ordered but thankfully, there are several videos that show how to do so. Also, I also bought the replacement glass on Ebay, brand new without paying an arm and a leg. What type of phone do you have that needs repairs?

    How much does it cost to fix a Galaxy s7 Edge Screen?

  • @rdlynes
    @rdlynes5 жыл бұрын

    I am sure your customer paid around $350 for this repair as the LCD and digitizer cost $200 ---based on the dates noted here. Personally, I would never have done this without having the proper color screen to match the phones back, I understand there was a timing issue. However, if you had a gold screen in stock you should have a gold back and home button, at least the home button should have been gold. Otherwise good video and average to good repair from a technical perspective.

    Great. Only thing I will say is that if the LED panel underneath was still good, why didn't you just replace the glass, rather than obliterating the screen and glass. It's really difficult, but I've seen some people replace the glass successfully, so perhaps next time you might want to consider just doing a glass replacement.
