The Flickering is likely due to the refresh rate variation going from 48Hz to 120Hz. If you look closely, it only flickers when the image sits still (likely at 48Hz), but once you interact with the display, swipe, click on something etc, the flickering stops, probably going to 120Hz when you do it.

One thing you didn’t mention is how for the first time ever Samsung put the snapdragon chip in their phones in all regions, instead of having exynos in the eu and snapdragon in the us. Mrwhosetheboss mentioned this in his video, and overall it’s really great to see them finally fixing that mistake Edit: I get he isn’t from the EU/UK, but this is common knowledge, and I’m sure he just hadn’t heard yet when he made the video. I was just mentioning it in the comments to build on all of the other improvements of the s23 ultra compared to last year, since this is probably the biggest improvement of all.

2:43 "shutter lag". This is due to the software waiting to see if you're going to swipe your finger on the shutter button (to take an animated picture) or if it was just a tap. All recent S2x have it. The good news is it can be turned off: in the Camera Assistant module (from their store - part of Samsung GoodLock), enable "Quick tap shutter" and voila.

They also made the sound quality better on the S23+ it sounds a lot better and louder than the S22+. Also, the battery life alone on the 23 vs. The 22 is like night and day and it made it worth the upgrade in my opinion. Battery life on the S23+ is literally phenomenal! I think it might have a lot to do with the better gen 2 chip in it though.

If you buy phone for looks and social status and not for its features. You should move on to the apple's side. Because internally that s23 is not the same. The new chip has outperformed A16 in peak performance and power efficiency test in GPU and mid frequency CPU.. Lookout for battery tests. There's a high chance that it will defeat 14 pro max. This is actually the most upgraded galaxy. What actually matters is not the looks but the brain inside.

Still rocking the S20 Ultra and it is still great. Feel like since the S20 Ultra, there haven't been any reason to upgrade. I upgraded from the S10+, and that was noticable. 120hz, 5000mah battery, the great camera, super snappy. And it still performs like that! S20 Ultra will probably be in my pocket for a good while more. Then I am thinking of trying out a Pixel phone. Written on my S20 Ultra, I love you ❤️

I'd agree if my S20 Ultra's display didn't suddenly go haywire (bright green/white, unusable), there are videos of it happening on here and it's not the 'green tint' bug that was patched it's far worse. It apparently affects the other S20s (possibly S21s) too and it seems like Samsung just puts the blame on users every time it's raised as a fault. Also the S20 Ultra's camera is capable of fantastic images but getting it to focus was always a pain. They fixed that from S21 onward though by including a laser rangefinder that is used to control focus rather than computation.

I see these as entertainment so I don’t really care if it’s long or short as long as it is engaging throughout. In this case, maybe it’s good it was short, but all I’m saying is as a general trend, I think a lot of people are too eager to say shorter is automatically better, when often longer videos give more room for entertainment, context, and nuance, which I enjoy. I see so many comments “wow thanks for the short video” and rarely (outside educational videos) “wow thanks for the detail and engagement in this long video!” So I just wanna give props to the MKBHD team for making great videos however long or short they need to be.

I need a new phone I have 3 more payments on my one plus 9 phone, and omg, one plus 9 is a disappointment, the main call volume is junk, can't hear, have to use speaker function while talking to people and the charging port is messed up, I did nothing to the phone. I have to charge on my wireless charger. So, I'm thinking of paying the remaining balance on the one plus 9, never getting another one plus ever, and it's made in China. I want either the Google Pixel 7, for the awesome cameras and cheaper price and great reviews, or the new Samsung 23, for performance and it's long years of updates, 4 I heard. I'm not sure if I want a iPhone 14 or not, I've only had Android phones, all my family have a iPhone, but pay the same price for less specs than Samsung or Google Pixel, I wish LG still made phones, I loved my LG G8 in red I had. So which phone should I get, Google Pixel 7 or Samsung 23?

I wish you would do a video explaining to the common person why these phones are able to take 200Mp photos on such a small lens. I feel like a lot of people are misinformed about how the pixel binning actually works. In short right they take 4 photos and fuse them into 1 bigger size photo. And vice versa when you take photos without the "200 MP" mode on it is taking 4 photos and compiling them into one better looking 12Mp photo.

Iso-pro and hdr is the combining multiple photos different exposures, the hardware binning, or The Tetra pixel technology part of the success came with ISOCELL 2.0 the the advantage of the pixel separators bring better colour fidelity and the breakthrough non matalic separator that came with 2.0 allowed for no optical loss wish was the privous weakness. ISOCELL HP2 sensor is why we can now have high pixel count again.

It's only using pixel binning to produce 12 MP photos, pixel binning is specifically a way of treating a sensor like a lower resolution sensor with a bit of a bump in IQ compared to if you just sampled some of the pixels to drop the resolution. Taking extra photos and stacking them together is, well, image stacking, and it's a basic form of computational photography.

2 Points here. -[The camera lag can be eliminated by turning off all the ai settings like auto HDR, auto lens swap, sharpening and scene optimizer, then in the good lock app camera assistant turn on increase shutter speed. this also works for all S21-22 phones. - The flickering is the adaptive refresh rate turning the hz down to lower than what the camera is picking up to save battery when your not moving the screen,

Love the Note 10 plus 5G, and same here... still rocking since 2019. Like the pen and the extra "external" micro SD card. Daytime photos good, nighttime so so. I may upgrade to S23 plus or Ultra (like the pen). Have Sony Xperia 5G for fine (better) photos. Also like my S20 for a small manageable phone with DEX. Got a Flip 4, not that great but a cute gimmick (like my Pixel 6a better). Not sure that the S23 line has DEX. All the best with your phone. Seems like Tmobile supports Samsung great and Pixel too, but somehow my $$$ Sony Experia 1 Mark 3 does not get the fastest data connection on Magenta Plus (but takes awesome photos, love the dedicated (high speed feature) shutter button.
