I think one thing displayed here that's extremely underrated about David's singing is how personal, interpretive and sincere his singing is. Especially in his early days. The high notes are phenomenal but mannn he knows how to convey a message. It's a work of art and so beautiful. Bravo!

I dont think they realized just what they got with David. However it did not take long until he was the `home run maker' of so many of their hit songs. The talent David has is stronger now than ever as he continues to blow our minds with his vocal ability and skills of communicating the message of each song he sings. He is the best singer of my time.

I've loved this song for so long, but today I realized that this version is the epitome of the Gaither Vocal Band's appeal. David's lead is, as usual, perfect, but the combination of Guy, Mark, and Bill is such a blessed harmony. These voices were meant to sing together, and I'm so thankful that they created such a legacy.

My favorite rendition of this. David really can sell a song. I think the four of these men had the best harmony.

I don't know what is more beautiful, David's voice or Gloria's words, but this song never fails to bring tears to my eyes, and I have heard it countless times on the CD. I'm so pleased to have discovered the video here, and looking forward to seeing David perform in December! Praise the lord for His grace!

I'm not even religious, but David Phelps is one of the greatest performers I've ever seen.

It's about relationship my friend. Not a long list of do's and don't. God knew all along we couldn't be sinless. But a price had to be paid for sin, and Christ took your place and mine.. stamped " paid in full". He gave us HIS righteousness! What mercy. What grace. For God so loved the world....

This is one song I wish David sang more often. To me, this is his signature song. You also gotta love when they all point at the audience at 2:52 to convey the significance of Christ's sacrifice for all of humanity.

I love the hear David sing. He is so talented. Gloria always writes a story with her words that always ministers to the heart. All are a great team.

What an amazing story teller and an interpreter David is I believe him

Oh my Lord..... This song tells it all.... Maybe sometimes we have to follow the roughest road, the most painful path, before we can understand the horrific price He paid for my sins and yours. And after we travel that road, that path, and we find out how much He values us.... We who help to crucify Him... Who turned away from Him... Who failed Him time after time after time.... But He still loved us and still forgave us, as unworthy as we are, and He called us to Him. To His home in Heaven and to His loving arms. Even though we may have given up on ourselves.... He did not and He reached out His loving arms and embraced us... and promised us Eternity with Him. What a Savior... What a Lord.... What a friend...

So beautifully said my friend. I took him for granted, God forgive me, growing up. I was selfish, self centered, fearful. Over the years I've asked him for help in my trying to let go of bad behaviors, harmful things. And he has. The power of sin is broken! Sure I slip up now and then, but it has no hold on me anymore. Jesus is the best friend anyone can have. He is a just God, true God. Loves you, loves you, no matter your past or who you are, or where you live. He's waiting for you to open the door. Start a new life.
