    I couldn’t find anywhere online to see if the oem bolts (non sport) fit the new akebono bolts for the rears only. Luckily you mentioned it! Saved me time and a headache lol thank you!

    The 2019 370Z that I got was the sport trim with the 6MT, larger Rays 19" wheels and the larger Akebono sport breaks, a great upgrade on a car with these performance capabilities. Stainless steel braided brake lines with Teflon cores helped to firm up the pedal a little. Stiffer Hotchkis anti-roll bars on the front and back have given the car a more solid and planted feel with quicker turn in and less body roll. When my pads need to be replaced, I'm going to install the Akebono two-piece rotors with aluminum hats to further reduce unsprung weight. Another mod in progress is the replacement of the OEM Rays forged aluminum 19x9J & 19x10J wheels with a set of forged magnesium wheels from Litespeed Racing, for a further reduction in unsprung weight of about 9 lbs. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2(240) tires that I have on the car are about 6 lbs lighter per corner than the OEM Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, again less unsprung weight and less rotational mass where it really counts, at the outer circumference of the rotating wheel and tire assembly. If anybody is interested in my old wheels let me know. I like Austin's choice in wheels, design and color.

    Nice video. I did the swap a few month ago so I'll add some of my observations: 1. I believe that the metric socket for the front caliper bracket bolts was 22mm 2. I can confirm that the stock 370z 18" wheels from a 2017 will clear the calipers 3. They are completely interchangeable with the g37 brakes. My calipers came off a g37 before I powder coated them, I think you mentioned that. 4. You don't need new brake lines. You only need the shorter banjo bolts. If you order them from z1 get 8, because they snap easily. I kept my lines stock because I'm cheap like that. Anyway great video. Do you have a wrap or is that just the factory Pearl White? I've never seen it in person

But I wish you did show us you bleeding them when I look at videos they crack the inside but then close them they crack the outside nut then close or did you crack both of them open. That’s the part I wish you would’ve recorded.

    I'm also amazed at how small those base brakes are for the weight and power of the Z. How did they feel? Here in Australia it seems most small volume sports cars (compared to what most people buy) don't come in many trim levels. With the Z We either have a base (which has the leather and electric seats, nav, rays wheels, akebonos, vlsd etc) or a nismo or special anniversary editions.

    they do cost a lot if you buy it all at once but its way easier like that, i sourced out parts from different companies. i bought my calipers off auto zone, the caliper bracket from z1, and brake rotors and pads from advanced. i basically spent around the same as if i were to buy it off z1, if i were you, id just save up and buy the whole kit from z1 to save yourself from the headache of sourcing for the parts, that is unless you find some for a good price locally on facebook marketplace or etc.

  • @thecarizon504

    @thecarizon504

    4 жыл бұрын

    I did, it was subtle at first because the rotors/pads I got used were in bad shape. Switching out for some new pads and rotors made the difference night and day. I feel much more cofortable slamming on them now when doing auto cross/mountain driving as they dissipate the heat better too. Not to mention they look better than the base brakes.
