I'm just gonna post what I've posted elsewhere: This story is way more messed up than you first thought. He murders Yuqi(thrown down the stairs), Miyeon(drowned), Shuhua(car crash) and Soyeon(choked to death). You can tell if you watch the imagery. Shuhua's in a car full of the bouquets you'd see at Korean funerals. You literally see Miyeon's body in the water. You can see his left hand on Soyeon's neck. All the members are near where they died, Yuqi's always around the stairs. Minnie figures out what is happening, the souls of the other four seem to be with her the whole time, so she survives the hit on her wedding and kills him. They are all at peace in the ending.

When you said, "why dont you just leave", something i want to add, that is unfortunately something a lot of people say to victim blame. Even people who dont like the toxicity in relationships cant leave. They sometimes dont have any other option but to stay with that person because its unsafe for them to leave or because they've only ever had toxicity and violence in their life so they just put up with it because they think its normal. I read a statistic somewhere that said people who try to leave an abusive relationship usually arent successful until the 7th attempt.

Hey Pat! Thanks for the reaction to the girls, I always appreciate them as a nevie! I fucking love this album. The MV is DARK and then the random dance break which should not make sense, but they look SO GOOD dancing. Center Yuqi, center Shuhua, give it to me. The songs are pretty diverse (which is to be expected when so many different people work on the album) and I have to say, I'm not a Meghan Trainor fan but what she cooked for the girls with Eyes Roll? YES PLEASE. I'm still wondering whether Soyeon understands wtf she's saying because they gave her some d i r t y lines. Miyeoncé ATE every single track, I always knew she was made for american music. She has such a perfect voice and I'm happy she finally gets to shine in a new-ish style for her! Minnie always destroys every kpop song because she's just that good, but Miyeon reminded everyone that there are two main vocalists in (G)I-DLE and I'm proud of Neverland's princess! I have nothing bad or meh to say about it (except some lyrics of Flip it, but... Since they've never done it, fuck it I'm just enjoying the ride), have been streaming it on repeat since it came out and not for the numbers, just because my brain requests it Thanks again, great video! Some of your reactions had me in tears lmao never change my man

I saw the first person to comment gave a very interesting interpretation of the MV. I'd like to share my own controversial interpretation after multiple viewings of the MV. My interpretation is generally as follows: The girls start out (and importantly also end up) on a luxury yacht in a calm, serene way. They are reading a book entitled "C'est La Vie" which translates to mean: "That's life". That is a statement of resigned acceptance of the unexpected (generally bad things) in life. The MV then goes off on a wild DREAM sequence of sexually charged but dysfunctional/abusive love. A wild type of love that is equal parts wildly fun, intensely passionate and addicting but hurtful, unhealthy and destructive. The lyrics include: "I want that oui merci no c'est la vie". This is a clear reference back to NOT wanting the boring life without love that the girls were living on the yacht (while reading the book entitled "c'est la vie"), and wanting instead an exciting, dangerous life filled with destructive love. The wedding scene in which Minnie enters the chapel so full of radiant happiness, only to turn and look back in darkness and horror can be explained by her being trapped in a boring, loveless marriage of luxury--she entered the marriage seeing the fun, romance and hope of the marriage, but in retrospect, she was trapped in a life that she found soul-deadening and horrifying (symbolized by her looking back down the church aisle that she walked, but this time seeing darkness and despair). This is reinforced when the girls sing towards the end of the song wanting "That p-s-y-c-h-o-t-i-c kinda love" . The MV ends with Minnie waking up from her dream fantasy inspired by her yearning for that live-for-today-and-damn-the-consequences love instead of her quiet, boring life of pampered luxury (which hints at Minnie being trapped in a loveless marriage that provides her with great material comfort and luxury, but not the passion that she so desperately craves). The climactic scene where Minnie enters a sterile, boring, conservative office setting with all of the male worker drones in virtually identical suits and ties and shoots her husband AND blows up the boring office (all while a bright, manic smile spreads across her face after shooting her husband in the head) reinforces that she rejects the traditional, boring, safe life that passionless marriage represents--she craves that "psychotic kinda love". Miyeon hitting the amazing high note as Minnie shoots the man and then has a rapturous smile spread across her face again seems to highlight that Minnie is enjoying this--she WANTS this (this aligns well with the name of the song: "I Want This"). The early scene where Soyeon finds the box that contains both the wedding ring box and the gun also seems to have added meaning when viewed in this lens, and seems to symbolize her embracing both sides of a psychotic type of love. Finally, this interpretation is also seemingly strongly supported by the title of the song itself: "I Want That". The girls WANT this type of dangerous, dysfunctional "psychotic kinda love" of intensely unhealthy positive and negative passion instead of the boring, ho-hum, safe, materially comfortable but ultimately deeply unsatisfying kind of life. I know that this interpretation is very controversial, and I welcome your reaction and comments! ; )

@@sindieltaylor2147 That might be the case, but it doesn't line up with the lyrics very well. If one looks at the lyrics alone, they actually give the image of wanting a psychotic kind of love. Even the name of the song is "I Want That". The evil smile of actual enjoyment on Minnie's face when she shoots the a-hole husband is very disturbing and does not go well with Minnie as a pure victim (and it is hard to justify Minnie setting off a bomb in an office building full of workers). Personally, I think the disconnect is caused by the creative team behind the MV not properly sticking to the meaning of the lyrics, thus causing a very weird juxtaposition of the MV and song. The two don't fit well together. The only way to make it fit is to create some very unsettling and dark interpretations. I love the MV as a work of visual art and story telling, but the MV doesn't fit the lyrics very well IMHO.

​@davidk6269 Keep in mind that the song, like I DO and the others, was originally written before they even selected (G)i-DLE as the group to collab with. The MVs are entirely different from the tracks as they were both made by CUBE and the girls. I DO as an MV has nothing to do with the song itself. The same is true here. The idea of an alien transforming after sneezing was Yuqi's. She said so on a live with a Chinese fan.
