Fw 190, Bf 109, Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, Zero

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Sit back and enjoy this wonderful symphony of history, provided by the late Paul Allen, featuring his Focke-Wulf 190A-5/U3, Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3, Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc, Hawker Hurricane Mk. XIIa, de Havilland DH.98 T.III Mosquito, and Mitsubishi A6M3-22 Zero as they start up and depart for an absolutely epic photo shoot with legendary aviation photographer, John Dibbs. August 26th, 2017 is the final fly day for the 2017 season, and will feature aircraft of the European Theater. In addition to the 5 British and German fighters mentioned here will be the American P-51D Mustang and Republic P-47D thunderbolt.

It's a good thing that they didn't erase the swastika logo on the Messerschmitt Bf 109 to make it more authentic.

The De Havilland Mosquito. Twin Merlins and in the attack roll ? They put an anti tank gun on it. 400 plus miles an hour on the deck in a wooden wonder. Crews would come back with tops of trees in the landing gear. Thank you Cabinet Makers!

Hard to imagine these birds in their prime. The BF-109's and FW 190's coming up to face off against the Allied bomber formations and escorts, The Hurricanes and Spitfires coming up for the fifth time in the same day with exhausted pilots to defend their territory, the Mosquitos paving the way with flares as Pathfinders, or perhaps as fleet defense or a low level strike. The A6M also performing a number of roles, but mostly as escort and CAP. Neat to see them all in the same place at the same time with their differing sounds. Amazing warbirds. With our modern jets and fancy crap, it's hard to see these airframes as killers, but that's they were, purpose built killers in their day, all of them heart stopping to see by their respective enemies in their own right. What a sight.

The frustrating part is that this museum is operated like they think they're Skunk Works. Never tell anyone of any upcoming flights and keep everything hush-hush. I was the ONLY person out there with a camera to see this as it was the day before an airshow they were going to put on. The 190 broke down, so it didn't fly at the show, making me the only person who has footage of authentic, restored, Bf 109, Fw 190, Spitfire, Hurricane, and Mosquito in the air together. It was a photo op and they didn't even do a single formation pass.

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc has to be my ultimate favorite, but I love all these awesome planes. Each one has its own charisma that fires the imagination, and stirs the soul. My uncle used to weld the canopies on Spitfires back in the day, and I remember my friend speaking about how they had the blueprints of the Spitfire on the wall of their office.. he was a drafting guy before the days of CAD in the 1940's.

It won its reputation as a classic machine for so many reasons.
