I worked on those in the sixties and seventies. Fv432 with 1 Royal Scots and then Abbots with 2 fd regt RA. After I "escaped" to a tank regiment and only had a 434 to look after. I well remember doing injector changes on them, all those copper washers to drop! Curses rang out in the LAD that day. What you don't mention is the diaphragm in the governor which had the nasty habit of leaking all the oil out which led to the engine running away with itself. It would overide the solenoid to great effect. Happy days. Your video brought back so many memories. Mainly of seized track pins( lazy crew), Shock absorber bushes which would weld themselves onto the support arms and broken torsion bars. The metalastic drive couplings were pretty crap as well. Funny I don't remember the emergency stop pedal at all. Oh well, it was 40 years ago! Corporal Dawson REME I was then.

I don`t remember the stop pedal on my old 434 in the late sixties. Used to hate the job of fitting a new plastic gear wheel for the tacho drive with the pack fitted in the vehicle. It was possible after removing the radio batteries (left side) and removing the small exposed hatch into the engine well.

The famous starter motor! I would like a pound for every time I've removed the kidney plate and twatted one with a hammer.
