Brings back memories of the pack lift on chally 2. Probably one of the very few things that remained the same. Seen this tank and the chieftain at tanks trucks and firepower couple of years ago. Good day out. I always miss the old girl's, wish I could afford a little tank myself.
Wonderful vid. I reworked these engines at Perkins in Shrewsbury
Very unique and superb footage of the Chally engine removal.
looks very familiar in the turret to a late 70s MK5 cheiftain gunner, exept for th IFCS controls and a couple of other toys
Had to do a pack change on my wagon many years ago, the REME and i had it out in 25 mins on the floor, Fear Naught Brothers!
That whole engine/ gearbox assembly weighs five and a half tons!
Is the mk 11 at the end Lizzie?
Dont forget to diengage the muff couplings...lol
Great video of the pack lift. Do you have the Aux Gen to install? Great to get some pics of that also. I'll be reproducing in
my dad drove those in the gulf also
is that spud from trainspotting
Is that just the cooler for the gearbox at the back? if it is bloody nora.
Nice to hear that good old L60 at full chat in the last frame, many night removing tri-flexi's ;)
How long did the swap take?
Slight upgrade on the useless L60..
need a crane driver.
Is that the illustrious Andy Watson I see in the video,if so it’d be great to touch base with him.
