Don't worry, Aunty yg 68 yrs old pun watching this
Love the way sensei shared his story of reciting Allahuakhbar. Two different ways, two different results. It takes compassion to listen to this podcast too. Because Islam unites people from different backgrounds and upbringings and this podcast is one of a good podcast that showcases that. Maybe too soon to say but, this podcast can bring muslim unite globally InshaAllah. Keep it coming KS! ( I cried a bunch on Sonny's episode, but this one exudes strength in calmness of the speakers which makes me want to pick up a sport like how sensei is for his martial art.)
Just when I thought KJ and Shahril couldnt outdo themselves from the last episode, boy was I wrong! I am a rugby fan, and seeing SBW in ep1 was sensational. I knew SBW was a Muslim revert, and getting him on the show was a power catch for Kindred Stories debut. Hence, when I started watching ep2, I had reservations as the opening started off with a slow pace. I couldn't understand what Sensei meant about the relationship between Islam and Akido. I thought it was just pseudo science. But when he told the story of the Bali bombing workshop, I had tears in my eyes and instantly felt and understood what he meant. Kudos to KJ and Shahril for their guests selection. A wonderful production by far!

Wow as an Aikidoka this episode going to be close to my heart. Already shared the link to my sensei and fellow Aikidokas. Can't wait for episode 2!
Simple and fruitful. Love this. MasyaAllah
Malaysia is one of world’s key countries and always got spotlight in international stage. For KS or Kindred to bring world famous persons into its platform should have no problem at all.
I cried when sensei shared the story about the part of ‘Allahuakbar
I think KJ and SH have helped to inspire us by bringing Sensei and Ibu Shanti to share their unique perspectives about how Aikido has helped to boost their Islamic understanding. There is a story about Saiyyidinah Ali RA taking a break from battle. In those ancient times, warring parties would agree to take a break during battle. There is no such thing or Code of War in modern times. I remembered that Futuwah has influenced the idea of Chilvary. The Ethical Values of a Warrior. Futuwwah is more about Inner Refinement than outer struggle or Battle. The Samurai who has mastered himself becomes a fearless Warrior in physical battle. Imagine how a warrior sage like Saiyyidinal Ali RA a man of profound Peace becomes an unbeatable adversary in battle. Imagine Saiyyidinah Ali RA was advised by Holy Prophet saw not to have any anger or hate, not even an iota. What a tremendous paradox. Holy Prophet saw told Saiyyidinah Ali RA that even if a flicker of anger crosses his Heart, it is better for him to die, than violate Allah's Command. Saiyyidinah Ali fought with great prowess till the enemy spat on him. He put down his sword and his enemy said before i chop off your head tell me why you put down your sword. Ali RA replied " My Prophet saw told me that it is better for me to die than violate Allahs command..by becoming angry. What an unbelievable act of supreme chilvary supported by tremendous Fsith. The enemy was overwhelmed by Ali RA and said convert me to Islam. This is how Islamic Chilvary surpasses any other approach.

Chivalry is a value missed so much in the Malay people. Kesatriaan is the Malay word for chivalry. It comes from the Sanskrit word shatria- warrior. But, what entails that satria value? Maybe, we need a new look at this important moral value system in the Malay sociological perspective (psychic) like Bushido and Futuwah. Kementerian pendidikkan amat berperanan.
At first it was hard to grasp Sensei's explanation as he doesnt seem to be articulate enough. But after listening to his every word intently, i got his message, d most powerful msg is d simple advice he gv when Khairy asked how shud he handle d lingering anger he still has, from being treated badly by his political party. His simple n wise advice was: Ignore them, just know that u are right in what u did, and trust God Almighty may hv sth better for u. And Ibu reminded him of how Prophet Muhammad acted in d face of adversity n bad treatment by his enemies then. Wise advice all of us can follow. Bitter maybe, but wise advice.
Love this. Love Shahril's awareness and honest questions. Tq to Sensei and Ibu.
14:15-18:45 : This is such an eye-opening story, the hardest obstacle is our own pride. So true. 1:06:30-1:10:00 : Honestly, KJ just gotta fully embrace his Reputation era now and cover one of the TS songs like "Look What You Made Me Do". Release his anger into the ether.
Not many people know about Sensei Hakim. I feel that probably you should start with few video of Sensei Hakim doing Aikido
Always educational to listen to cross cultural references..its ok to take whats good from anywhere as long it doesnt conflict with ur akidah .its safe to say..everything is relative of course..Indonesian Islam is more tolerant vis a vis Malaysian Islam, because the country is big and more diverse ..Malay Muslims especially in peninsular at the personal level are not as exposed to other cultures that much so their approach is more rigid ..n generally think there is only one way, so it makes them very judgemental if things dont conform with their way of thinking...then, sabah and sarawak muslims because of their diverse societies n are used to having different religions in d extended family, generally tend to be more tolerant like the Indonesian Muslims.Tq.

Another great conversation...to learn about the relationship between the philosophy of Aikido and what our religion teaches us. It is amazing to learn how the purity of heart can be the answers to everything that we do in our daily life. Job well done Kindred Stories (KS). Way to go KJ & SH.
Nouman Ali Khan, Omar Suleiman, Yasir Qadhi
KS has moved to another level beyond expectation. Congratulation to KJ & SH.
Thanks KS for bringing different perspectives from different people around the world. I don't have the opportunity or maybe ability to have such good conversations with people's. But listening to your podcasts gave allowed me to listen and digest this different views of other people. It's good for my self development. Thank you
I learn Aikido and my Sensei is Ramlan Ortega Shihan. He would always give me similar advise. Both Hakim sensei and Ramlan sensei are good friends

Beautiful discussion❤ Thank you Sensei Hakim & Bu Shanti 😊
If i may share some ideas. Futuwah is an approach that is based on the Way of Peace. it is about the Jihad against the Lower Self (An Nafs Ammsrah) and cultivating the beautiful traits. It is about an Inner Struggle (Jihad al Akbsr) When the Self is conquered then Inner Peace comes and the Heart is reached and the mind Ego is subjugated.

I have always been fascinated by Morihei Ueshibs and his philosophy of Peace. the more an opponent charges with force, the more his attack is blunted. This is the same principle as in Ba Gua and Hding I, two powerful Chinese Martial Arts that focuses on Inner Strength. I discovered that Inner Strength is activated just by saying Bismillah. SubhanaAllah. And i can prove this by a demo of physical strength. I dont have to focus on the secret of Kung Fu, the Dan Tien. Just Bismillah connects the Energy Centres. And i can show this.. SubhanaAllah
I would like to suggest inviting Aliza Kim, a Thai-American to your show.
Kenapa channel ni lambat sangat update. Buatlah seminggu 1 episod.

Vladimir Putin is marshal artist which partly influence his personality among others, he is joined by migrant western marshal artists. That way coupled with his orthodox Christian belief Putin is able to face the western denigrations - so is China with their long history of wisdoms..
My takeaway from this, almost the same point from bro SBW, your intention, must be because of Allah.

To the guest’s point about Indonesians being more tolerant of diversity because they grew up in a diverse culture. Malaysia was like that too, and Malay Muslims practice a similar Islam as Indonesians. So what changed for Malaysia, why are Malay Muslims so judgmental and critical of others who are seen as different? One glaring reason seems to be the politics of Malay supremacy. So huge thanks to Umno for starting that and now to PN for capitalising on it. Congrats on destroying the beautiful society that was Malaysia!

kzread.info/dash/bejne/l4qpw9iqeNK8mc4.htmlsi=zDzxNjGTfCIDDaZ4 Hi KS. Im a big fan of both of your podcasts. I just listened to this greattttt interview with a young revert malaysian chinese man, who was a buddhist monk before and also a christian, a totally different journey he had compared to the other revert especially on what he is inspiring to do now as a moslem which i found very touching as he does so much than most of us, a born moslem. Please listen to the inview below and kindly consider inviting him as your guest. Totally looking fwd to it. Tqvm KS and well done on your great efforts for both podcasts.
