I found the Leicestershire bike safe course interesting and helpful some years ago. Taking zero training before or after my test in 1981 I had plenty of bad habits. Turns out I wasn't no where near as good as I thought I was! I've been lucky over the years to ride many miles with good experienced riders and instructors and have took on board constructive criticism. If you ever get the chance to ride in Gran Canaria with Canary Motorcycle Tours, it's owner Martin (a qualified instructor) is a fabulous person to learn from. Rospa and IAM organisations will definitely help and improve your riding and safety and I applaud your seeking self improvement 👏 Perhaps I'm slightly put off by a tiny minority of the 'elite' riders from these organisations who introduce themselves with their name and their qualifications.

Thank you for that Bandit! Id love to go to the canaries! Your videos to the islands were brilliant! It's interesting as the returning rider said the same! (3 new passed and 1 RR on the batch) I usually ride with pooley and he's really good and helpful in pointing things out that I don't realise I'm doing. I really get overly cautious about filtering, still so much to work on!!! It's a process I suppose. Everyone I've met have been very nice and I know the type your talking about but the way I see it I'm doing it for me, I would be proud and excited to pass. But if that's the limit I'd be disappointed!!! See off road training coming next year 😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣 totally agree, need those good riders to keep good habits! Thank you! I was worried about the audio at the time but turned out ok! I hope it helps someone if they are thinking about a course. At the very least it was a day out! 😁🤣 Take every chance I can. I've been using apps to improve since the CBT and it's really helped me to feel more confident and be safe! Interesting in doing any of them? Take care and ride safe my friend 😁🖖🏼

Excellent video. It is interesting to hear this from a newer riders perspective. I originally read Motorcycle Roadcraft back in the late 70's, it was given to me by my Brother in Law who was a serving Police Officer. I still have that book and the principals remain the same but I got a new copy for Christmas and read that before attending the BikeSafe workshop, in my case with Gloucestershire Constabulary. My reason for attending the workshop was different from yours, rather than looking for training I wanted to attend as a kind of checkup of my riding as since returning to motorcycling in 2019 I have become a fan of touring and as I have never undergone any motorcycle training at all I wanted to find any faults I had and get them sorted. I found the on line tutorials absolutely fascinating and they really changed the way I look at things like empty junctions and especially road signs. I found the powerpoint presentation on the day interesting and informative and a useful addition to the on line information. I was lucky enough to have a one on one assessor who was a very senior IAM member (Noob will know the terminology) and who I think was an retired Police examiner. We were out for around 3/4 of an hour on an amazing ride along just about every type of road you can think of with the exception of Motorway. The feedback I received was both interesting and reassuring, in short it reassured me that I am a competent rider and that my road skills are up to scratch. But, as you say, we must never stop learning.

Audio is spot on and setup is good for vlogging 👍 Good that you're trying different training and finding out what suits you. It's important to always be learning and trying to improve.

Thank you! It was my first try with the audio and just wasn't sure if it would work! Tried it once before and the Audio didn't record! I hoped the stats would explain why I thought it was so important. .8% of those who have a license are bikers and nationally make up 20% of accidents but in Derbyshire 32%. Don't want to end up as a statistic....but more importantly prove everyone (family) right when they said it's too dangerous and your going to get yourself killed! I intend to prove them wrong!!!! I’m from derby and did the Bikesafe at Butterley; excellent course and discussion in the classroom was good. Really enjoyed the ride out in the Peak District. What bike have you got?

Rider error for most accidents, could it be that the rider's panic center in their brain causes them to freeze up slaming on the brakes? Practising E braking, swerving in a quiet parking lot everyday can reduce their panic reflexes to be more calm when approachig a hazard like a car pulling out infront of you.
