It might be helpful for anybody new to French to know that the word for wardrobe ( l'armoire ) is a a feminine noun. This is important if the wardrobe needs to be described, for example with a colour, "une armoire brune". Incidently, "une grande armoire" is a double wardrobe.

It only links if it ends in a vowel without an accent though, and the second word starts with a vowel without an accent, like in the negative, when you say the chair isn't near the table, you connect the ne and est because ne ends in a vowel and est starts with a vowel: "La chaise n'est pas à côté de la table"

Mur (wall) is only used with contre (against) You cannot use mur with any other pronoun

Because "pleut" is the verb "pleuvoir". "beau" and "froid" are adjectives. Anyway those sentences are idiomatic.

I've noticed that when you say "le" you do it with a close mouth. Is this the way to pronounce always when you are refering to "the"? I get confused all the time, don't get it when you have to pronounce "e" with an open or closed mouth :(
