yeah i liked that too, but they both settled on "darling" over time,,,they were so sweet to eachother with just a wee bit of jousting, which they took very well......what a terrific couple! They were extremely lucky, not everyone gets to experience that, but those of you that do,,,,count your blessings!

Betty is now “home” with her beloved Allen.

They say that Betty White's past word right before passing away was "Allen"!

I envy the love Betty had for Allen Ludden. It would be ideal to have that kind of love for someone.

When I see the first video I just keep thinking Allen has that famous ring on a chain around his neck .... just waiting for Betty to say YES!!

I'm sad that Betty's original 1961 episode where they first met doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

@@ScherziDoll somewhere i saw just a few seconds of their first meeting,,,,Allen's eyes were on her most of the time....i think it was in a montage of clips.

Allen was an awesome game show host! I heard he cut a record album, and authored a couple of books also.

Marci, were you related to Allen Ludden,,,,his birth name was Allen Packard Ellsworth(he was adopted later by Homer Ludden)

@@karenenderle532 Ellsworth is my married name. It’s quite possible my late husband and children are. I didn’t find out that Allen was an Ellsworth until after my husband died. My husband’s family has done quite a bit of genealogy research. I just have to find it!
