@@pl.r3918 yea hi has a terrific feeling for a melody. I think hes not that used to improvising or just not that into it, cause he shines when doing the crazy riffs and arrangements more, but even so, he knows how to build a melody.

It's crazy how Tim can play any guitar and you know immediately it's him playing, such a distinct style with, particular with the really super smooth and accurate palm muting. That really proves the life of the tone is in the hands, I bet he could make even my shitty Squier sound like a million bucks. So much respect for both of these guys, so much skill. Awesome bringing attention to such a dope cause. You are really killing the game Herman, I'm so glad you're doing such good and important things , and of course the insane skill on the guitar.

Never understood this logic. It's harder to play WITH distortion because you have to worry about muting.

@@faustoorieta not rly, its harder without IMO becouse the setup doesnt help u anymoe with sustain, same intensity of notes etc, basically its just u , nothing else, in a song when u gotta mute yeah sure, becouse in a "clean-ish piece" u probably wont help to mute but shredding isnt rly muting anyway now is it

@@cechichan with shredding you absolutely have to have good muting technique, without it there is so much string noise. Learning to play cleanly with proper muting actually makes your cleans sound way better because that muting muscle memory kicks in even without the distortion

Wrong. With distortion you have so many harmonics to hear and pay attention to.

Jason Becker & Dimebag are my guitar idols. Almost made me tear up seeing the guitar community still remembering and coming together for Jason.

It’s awesome watching two legends from different ends of the timeline inspire and teach each other

I love Herman Li’s channel. He always says to never compare or compete. As a musician myself I love that encouragement of those words, also the positive output and knowledge he provides. I have never heard of Tim, Now I subscribed to his channel, very talented young man.

Herman you rock. Tim was a great guest star, the kid - and I say that with all due respect, is so young and can really play. I can't get over the awesome thing you are doing for Jason. You have a good soul...

U Nailed it Herman! I do wish that in future Dragon Force songs, there's at least one where u can put a balad solo somewhere between ur usual shredding. ♥️

I love how Tim realises or admit his shortcomings and is always willing to improve and grow out of it❤️

There's this thing about a little bit too much or too little. Improvement is great but it can stir you in a whole nother dimension if your not careful like alot of artist ended up with but with Tim he knows where he's going and i applaud that. Like Davie504, if you seen his old videos he's just god dayum but now he's more mainstream so yeah there's that. Great but no clear direction but yeah Davie is a youtuber so it's different unlike Tim and a whole lot more and did the example for context.

Tim is pretty much walking his own road and there's nobody there. You can't copy anyone or make reference to so it's really fresh in the ears. Always loved listening to his after listening to everything else, like water to wash it all down.

Tim was one of my favorite guests in the weeks-long marathon of stream guests, but they were all great.

I come from a family of talented musicians and never had confidence to learn to play feeling totally outgunned by them all. I have just started my guitar journey at 40 years old massively inspired by guys like Tim and Herman.

So awesome for the fund raising and love this interview! Social and communication skills are great to nurture but what's utmost important is having a good attitude - Herman and Tim have the best ones 🙌🏼🖤

Tim’s reaction to holding a guitar played by EVH lol

I was a teenager during the Shrapnel days so I'm a huge Jason Becker fan. When he joined DLR I was so stoked to be able to see him live finally. I remeebr being confused. "Jason doesn't look anything like I thought". It took a few sings before I accepted it definitely didn't sound like him so it couldn't be him. Was some time later that I heard the news about his ALS diagnosis and it hit me pretty hard. But he's still putting out great music 30 some years later.

Great jams, great interview, I don’t always have time to watch your entire Twitch stream so getting these shorter nuggets is nice. 👍

I really enjoyed Tim jamming. Would be really happy to see more of it. Though it doesn't sound as perfect as Polyphia records, it still sounds like Tim, with the hooks and stuff. It just pops!)

Love what your doing, I am in a small Bass fishing club, and we lost a member (Byrd Post) to ALS in the early 2000's. Horrible disease, We have a benefit tournament in his memory every year and so far we've been able to accumulate and donate over $80,000 to the Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS in his name. Great to see you use your platform to help out those in need. We are scheduled for 8/1/2021 for the next benefit tournament.

That's TheDoooo's forte. He shreds little snippets at just the right moment inside of pop melodies he's shaping around and through them.
