Since seeing Glover on the Vigilance Elite Interview and then searching Fieldcraft out, I have been very impressed with the practical, no BS, informative videos you guys put out. This was hands down the best sling video I have seen yet. I am not military but come from a military family. Trying to get prepared the last 10 years and now that my family is waking up to becoming more prepared, your type of info is invaluable. I look forward to checking out training my family with you guys. Again its the practical, no BS, non EXTREME approach your group takes that sets you apart from most of the others. Thank you. Keep up the great work.

At 58, I am a carbine beginner (not new to firearms, but new to AR platform equipment), so this stuff is invaluable to me. Thanks so much for putting this kind of content out. And yes, I totally agree, there is a lot of training that can be done without going to the range, or even firing a shot. Again, thanks...

I’ve never had a job where carrying and shooting a rifle was part of it. I only have my brains and imagination to try and figure out what might or might not be needed in a real gunfight. This basic sling how to video is so simple but so important and I never knew I needed to train it. It’s scary to think of how much I still need to know and don’t even know about it yet. Imagine getting shot in your own house cause your sling got in your way. Thanks for the insight. I will be a little less dumb because of it.

I can answer that question for you. I gave this video a thumbs down because he is taking his arm out of the sling to shoot; making the single point of contact his neck. The quality of the video is great; but swimming your arms in and out of the sling is impractical. Go watch some other videos and see who does that.

This is a great option if you train a lot and I mean a lot. Most people do not train enough to make this option viable. If you do not train to carry this way you will get tangled up in your sling trying to move each arm in and out smoothly. I prefer to have the sling under my left arm with the QD near the front. To transition, I am only moving my left arm in and out of the sling. I can see the advantages of this setup. I will try this and see if it will make me reconsider my current setup. Great video with a bunch of well-thought-out and presented in an easy to understand way.

THIS is the video I needed before my first Rifle 1 class a few weeks ago. Showed up with a new AR and learned a lot, but struggled with the sling the entire class, for several reasons: length, shifting from shooting to 'admin', attachment point (the buckle consistently got wedged between the stock and my shoulder). Since then I've watched a LOT of videos but most talk about sling features and don't cover the basics of attaching the sling and using the sling. This clear, understandable demonstration clears up SO much! Thank you.

Please don’t ever do this. If you were in real danger, you would get killed. You should NEVER have to be slipping your arms in and out of your sling to be able to shoulder your weapon. The same way you have it in rest position, should be the exact same sling position and length as ready for a threat. That 5 seconds that your putting your arm out of your sling to be able to fire, is the 5 seconds you get shot and killed. Also, what happens when you get caught up in your sling trying to constantly pull your arms in and out? As somebody with a lot of experience, and as somebody who cares about his fellow man, please do not use any of these “techniques” in the real world, for your safety.

Being forced to have to pull your arms in and out of your sling, because of how tight it is to your body, just to be able to shoot , is the worst idea I’ve ever seen. Great video to explain one way to carry an AR. Clearly shows the benefits of it. I like the idea of having a decided, one length sling - instead of sliding longer and shorter and longer and shorter. The trade off seems to be pulling arms through and out of the sling. I would say - practice at home in every possible way - and see what fits best for you. Unless you are someone who will be constantly practicing (I think there are FAR more gun owners who do not spend much time practicing), it might be a REAL good idea to find the simplest (taped down ends sounds nice), necklace carry (not complicated AT ALL) might be what would work for a huge number of people

This video is just horrible, everything you should NOT do with a sling.

Being forced to have to pull your arms in and out of your sling, because of how tight it is to your body, just to be able to shoot , is the worst idea I’ve ever seen. This would most definitely get your hurt/killed in the real world. Especially if you ever got caught/hung up on your sling. You’re a goner.

Thanks for the info. I prefer the Savvy Sniper quad sling. Can go 1 or 2 point, pull the tab to release slack or just drive the gun stretching the bungee. Love you guys
