💖 this ~ Halloween color-marbled Rice Krispy Treats! Going to make this & try reversing the layering ~ rice krispies, peeps, more rice krispies, then butter (maybe use more 'pats'?), then top layer of peeps. Thinking that rice krispies on bottom of pan will be easier to stir up, rather than melted peeps sticking to pan bottom. Put individual peeps spread out on top (after baking & stirring) so you'd have 1 on each square for serving. Thank you for your wonderful enthusiasm & inspiration, Kristin ~ 😚

For that alone my great grandchildren would be excited if that’s all they did. I adore these Halloween and Fall themed things, and it’s so clever to use the Halloween peeps which I’ve never seen some of these. I hope that’s clearer, gave me ideas for children fun time. 🧡🍁🇺🇸

What a fun recipe! And you can still see some of those Halloween colors! I'm having an awful time finding the Halloween Peeps in the stores. I was able to order them from Walmart, but was shocked at the cost. I remember all the Peeps being fairly inexpensive.

Here's a recipe for you to try. All the kiddos love them. Apples, cinnamon candies, gummy worms. Core the middle of the apple, fill with the cinnamon candy, bake at 250 I forgot how long. It's been a longggg time. When the apple gets soft but not too soft, remove from oven. Let it cool for a bit.. add your gummy worms, while the apples are warm.. put the gummies 3/4 in the apple the rest hanging out. Eat right away. No slicing yet.. try the gummies ... they slither down your mouth.. lol I made 30 apples for school.. dumb idea.. but I invited my daughters friends over for a sleep over and warmed the apples back up and wow... success was the word !! They loved the cinnamon apple and got gross giggles through the worms lol. It was a sight lol

Really no point in using peeps in the mixture since they get mixed up into the cereal. You may as well use regular white marshmallows and get the peeps for the top and use for the decoration like you did. This looks like a easier way to make rice krispie treats! May try this, yum. Thanks

On second thought, why not make the Rice Krispies treats according to package instructions by melting mini-marshmallows and butter . . . divide the box of Rice Krispies in thirds and do half at a time. Put the first layer on bottom of pan and then place layer of Peeps with faces down. Add the second layer of Rice Krispies with melted marshmallows and butter on top. Add another layers of Peeps and end with last layer of Rice Krispies treats. Do NOT put into oven, but leave it to set up "as is" so everyone can clearly see the cute PEEPS . .. do not stir it up!

Cutting all the peeps (except the toppers) with your beloved scissors would have made the whole concoction easier to melt/mix.

Put layer of Rice Krispies with melted butter stirred in on bottom of pan. Put row of Peeps with their cute faces facing DOWN. Add another layer of Rice Krispies with the melted butter already mixed in on top of Peeps. Another layer of Peeps with faces facing UP. End with another layer of Rice Krispies with melted butter mixed in. I think this would work better.

I love rice crispy treats, but not with peeps. Peeps are disgusting. They’re the type of treat you either love them or hate them. 🤷🏻‍♀️
