Fun and Interesting London Memorial Benches - Lockdown Walk

Well, here's a walk around some of my favourite memorial benches in London.
Most of them are in central London but some are a bit further out. I think it's a nice way to remember people who have departed this life. There's also the usual banter and other bits and pieces as we wander around London.
Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill in New Bond Street.
Kirsty MacColl in Soho Square.
Spike Milligan in Finchley.
John Thaw in Covent Garden Actor's Church.
Oscar Wilde in Charing Cross.
Camels and Sphinxes on the Embankment.
The Beatles in St. Pancras Gardens.
John Keats at Guy's Hospital.
Alfred Salter in Rotherhithe / Bermondsey

Some people got fed up with her music because she jumped around styles. whenever she was walking down Madison in these shoes thinking about the days or dreaming about a new England watching England win 2 - 0 against Colombia in Soho Square she was alway's interesting.

@marcus price She was a talented singer, songwriter. Her death is not as some people think in Mexico the 41year-old daughter of folk singer Ewan MacColl was struck by a speedboat while swimming off the coast, she swam in front of a speedboat to save one of her children. *From Wikipedia.* The powerboat involved in the collision was controlled by Guillermo González Nova, multimillionaire president of the Comercial Mexicana supermarket chain, who was on board with members of his family. The boat was owned by Carlos González Nova, brother and founder of the chain. One employee of Guillermo González Nova, boathand José Cen Yam, stated that he was in control of the boat at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses said that Cen Yam was not at the controls and that the boat was travelling much faster than the speed of one knot that González Nova said. Cen Yam was found guilty of culpable homicide and was sentenced to 2 years 10 months in prison. He was allowed under Mexican law to pay a punitive fine of 1,034 pesos (about €63, £61 or US$90) in lieu of the prison sentence. He was also ordered to pay approximately US$2,150 in restitution to MacColl's family, an amount based on his wages. People who said they spoke to Cen Yam after the killing said he received money for taking the blame.

He was chairman of the Finchley Society and intervened when Barnet Council decided they were going to demolish a beautiful 18th century building, to make some dough on luxury flats. The old place is still there in Nether St and looks like it could have come straight out of a fairy tale. Think it's called the Gate House. Thanks, Spike and Joolz.

This story of an Italian-American man going fishing with his grandfather in New Jersey. The chapter expresses, what I feel is the essence of Joolz life, purpose and passion. Great video as always! Helps me get my London fix from afar. Just wanted to mention that in a Charles Dickens biography I read( by Clare Tomlinson I think) It mentions that Charles worked as a young man in boot blacking factory, which you have also mention in a previous film, but here he met a good friend called Fagan. Maybe this is the Fagan mentioned in the plaque?! The ‘real’ one. Thanks again Jools. I’d like to meet your taylor!

Another great show, Joolz. One point though, I live in Florida, near Miami, and we do have the "counters" in the crossings of the streets and avenues. They have been there for quite some time. I thought you ought to know. Best to you and thanks for sharing your tours!

Quirky stuff - a true benchmark of enjoyment. By the by, what's London's oldest public bench, and, indeed, when were benches first introduced? Ta and premature ta for any replies.

At 15:40, what you are calling fish/fishes, is actually the antique version of Dolphins;.. which of course was used often to portray Royalty in France, not sure if the same in England.
