Full story of Lawrence anini | Full gist and trial| a nigerian crime story.

This is the full story of Lawrence Anini, a pioneer criminal in Nigerian history.
Lawrence Anini was a notorious Nigerian armed robber and criminal who operated in the 1980s. He was the leader of a gang known as the Anini gang, which terrorized the city of Benin and other parts of Nigeria during that period.
Anini and his gang were notorious for their daring robberies, which they carried out with guns and other weapons. They were also known for their ruthless tactics, which included killing policemen and other security operatives who tried to stop them.
Anini was eventually arrested and brought to justice in 1986, following a massive manhunt by the Nigerian Police Force. He was found guilty of several crimes, including murder, armed robbery, and other related offenses, and was subsequently sentenced to death by hanging.
Anini's case is regarded as one of the most high-profile criminal cases in Nigeria's history, and it is often cited as an example of the dangers of organized crime and the need for effective law enforcement.
The story of Lawrence Anini can be described as one of Nigeria's most brutal, a recurring criminal in history and a pioneer in his right.
Lawrence Anini was received as a criminal with mixed feelings , while some feared him, some loved him.

The man was caught in our neighborhood in Benin City. We had no idea he was there. Three weeks before his capture, members of the Nigerian army would terrorize us as we played football outside. We were in our early teens. They whipped us with kobokos and used tear gas on us. They slapped one of our friends in the ear that he lost his hearing in that ear. We became prisoners. We were even terrorized while walking home from school. All the while, they had intelligence that he was there but instead of arresting him, showed up to terrorize innocent people. It wasn't until a newly installed military governor Iniega issued a warning that they decided to arrest him. Nigeria was and is still a joke. Members of the security forces were working with him. The events that occurred during the Anini saga is playing out right now in Borno State and across the country with herdsmen.

@@concernedafrican1928 Give a rebuttal with facts, instead of channeling your frustrations to others. The man was caught on Oyemwosa Street, 3rd East Circular Road between 1-2PM in the afternoon. Many of us were just returning home from school when we heard the gunshots. Clearly, something in my previous comment touched your raw nerve. The evil doer runneth when none pursueth.

What did we learn; 1) Anini did indeed terrorise Nigeria. 2) Nigerian police was so dysfunctional, that they kept no record of his victims. That’s still happens today. 3) As bad as IBB is, he still demanded the arrest of an armed robber as president. Buhari would just ignore it like a fly on his lips. 4) Nigerian police are better than US police, they arrested him alive, despite knowing he is armed, brutal and dangerous. American 🇺🇸 police would have mutilated his body with over 100 bullets and took selfies with his body, then brag about how they shot him with the guns sideways. 5) Criminals know Nigerians, true capitalist, all that matters is money and profit. Anini stole, gave some to the people and enjoyed the rest. Tinumbu learned that from him, steal people bread and give them back crumbs, they will praise and love him. 6) Money is the root of all evil. You can’t worship God and mammon.

What bandits are terrorists are doing now in Nigeria makes Aminu’s “exploits” so ordinary. Crime at the time of Anini was not “normal”. These days people ( civilians ), Army and police die everyday in the hands of bandits and terrorists and it seems like nothing much had happen. The then head of state Babangida didn’t declare him wanted for up to a year before he was captured , over 10 years now we’re at the mercy of bandits and terrorists no hope. Very unfortunate

Not very detailed, because the reason why he became famous in arm robbery was not explained. He wasn't a Robinhood as describe. Point of corrections unfortunately he was spiritually very strong. The day he came of Abudu police station he killed several policemen and police shot him several times and guns didn't do him anything. I was an eye witness. ABUDU was disorganized that day and no soul outside. My brother he was powerful criminal. He wear a magic ring in the middle of his fingers. Nigeria police was better than what it is nowadays. Many people requested the services of koko bioko who specializes in arresting dangerous criminal with spiritual powers. We have till today afro who is still alive but quite from robberies longtime and he was given a post to fight against thieves.

@ Victory Owen, bro you've got serious issue.. There's a story of a successful lawyer that defended the morally depraved ( paedophile, arsonist ) he was good at it. One day he came home after receiving a call that his house was on fire. He lost his family in one day and every memory of them. The person that did this to him was someone he had once defended. The world has a funny way to evening things up. These crime you are so eager to forgive, I hope they are never visited upon you or yours... Right and wrong will never change... You need to search within...

Me and my friends were rubbed by Anini gang, how can I forget that faith full day. I almost passed out that night in Benin city, we went out to buy snails, and beer Anini n his gang followed us to my friends house, ordered us out of the Mercedes Benz, left the 505 car they stole from some where n drove off , I remember, I lay down on the sand face down, shaking, I taught I was going to die that evening. Horrible night mare every time I remember that name.

@@victoryowen996 I read all your previous comments, decided to keep off this banter until you said this. How will you say Lawrence Nomayangbon Anini was a good man. Even his 2nd son (Osayi Lawrence) who made a video in 2019 about his father didn't try to prove his innocence. He doesn't even bear the name Anini his name is Osayi Lawrence. It's better to keep quiet than make very untrue, inhumane statements soaked in an Ocean of sentiments..

May his soul rest well with God the creator.
