When Thor was at his peak, he was a specimen and unbeatable in strongman.

When he got on the right cycle at the right time. He got crushed by Shaw, Eddie and Zavickas for years and years. Brian Shaw is the strongest man to ever walk the Earth and his insane accomplishments prove it.

@@bartondean4260he was beaten for years, but no one matched his peak years of 2018-2020 in terms of overall strength. I’m not a big fan of his but I have to give credit where credit is due, but I do have a feeling Savickas and Shaw could have surpassed that level if they were as young as Thor and came in at the same time as him (cause of advancement in the sport), and if Eddie stayed in strongman for 3 more years his static lifts would be untouchable for quite some time

There is no more debate on this. Brute strength, static lifts, functional strength, athleticism and overall well roundness, or any of the criteria or combination you take, peak Thor is the Strongest Man of all-time.

The more we watch Thor, the more we miss him. I'm closely following Thor's recovery from his socials and praying he will be back, stronger than ever! His surgeon really did a fantastic job. If we can set aside the animosity and have Thor back, it will be the best for the sport. A lot of people left the sport once he retired and as you rightly said, Thor in his prime is the Strongest Man to have EVER lived! It was such an electrifying experience (specially for an iron addict) to see him live. The sport has never been the same despite so many new faces and marketing wizardry from all the strongman bodies combined. Colin, Darren, why don't you fly to Iceland and meet him? Thor is a kind person and in my opinion, you should take the initiative on this.

2018 Thor was something else on the planet, no weakness and consistently a threat. With his overall 5 wins back in 2018, he was a static monster. If his health could be on par with his great performance, I believe he would still competing big time from the last 3 years after his big 2020's deadlift. Thor's 2019 Europe's Strongest Man was his comfortable win, just need to win 1 event and keep consistent on the top 3 for the rest of the comp. Just to prove once again Giants Live was his nice "playground"

@@santiagosteven6105 He was statically the strongest as well. Name someone who can Deadlift 501 and Squat 460 and the best thing is both were not maximum efforts from him, and he could have done more. I still believe he will recover this year and towards the end of next year, break the powerlifting ATWR. Fingers crossed.
*He's the most overlooked competitor and that can unfortunately be accredited to his acting fame and the shadow it cast on his career as a professional athlete. His wins and records weren't talked about much in the sport's media up until the last 2 or 3 years. It's not been very long.* I do think as time goes on and the sports fame and popularity grows, his chapter in it's history book will become a popular reference amongst fans and professionals.

@@dango9786 that means shit in terms of the people watching. I doubt fans of strongman can name 10 current athletes off the top of their head. It does not have the promotion and presence through broadcast media and support in consumer products that you will see in stores. They are reliant on almost exclusively promotion online. Thor is extremely well known amongst fans of Game of Thrones but his athletic career is a side note amongst them and many aren't even that aware. His record is one of the most impressive but it's not often talked about on Discord and other social media.
