My model Y kept me alive this past Saturday. I thought I was feeling fine, but I nodded and the car got loud and woke me all the way back up. It was flashing a warning on the screen and I pulled over and got myself together before going home safely.

Tiredness can unexpectedly lead to sleep while driving. I’m sure autopilot / driver monitoring has saved lots of lives. Unfortunately it is impossible for us to quantify. …although in theory Tesla could parse that data and let us know how often it wakes people up.

For those who don't think solar farms are a great idea, what you rather have done to a poisoned landscape while it is allowed to recover with the help of nature? Incidentally, in the UK, our short-lived (49 days tenure) former PM Liz Truss, didn't want solar farms making tha landscape look ugly. She was a fully paid-up fossil-fuel member. Thank goodness she only lasted 49 days

2 execs leaving and a recall on the cyber truck that isn’t a software update. Stop sale. No update on their cyber truck. Huge layoffs at Tesla which is fine as that happens at most big companies but you would be quick to talk about Ford or GM. Love these guys but severely one sided at times

You recently reviewed a charging extension cord. Should these be required, (or supplied) to Fords for their charging, so they can park properly in the charging space? PS should there be an extra fee during congested times for those vehicles using 2 spaces ? (just asking)

as an FYI, Tesla SC installs rarely take more than a few days to a couple weeks: the delay is INVARIABLY the delay in getting the utility out to do their hookup. This averages 4 months to 6 months

If the model Y can have a long range RWD version, why can't the model 3 also have a long range RWD version? As the competition from BYD heats up Tesla will have to respond or lose sales. Another quarter or so of falling sales would not be good for Tesla's share price.

The only thing you didn't cover on the lamp post charger is what is charging voltage, and what happens to that when multiple vehicles are plugged to the lamp post. Does the rate stay the same or does it go down per vehicle?

Only one output can operate at one time on each lamp post. This is trickle charging not rapid charging. The infrastructure isn't there for that.

I think Tesla settled so the public doesn't misconstrue Autopilot and the new FSD feature. If Joe Blow thinks Autopilot and FSD are the same, he might be leery of buying it, even to try it out for a month.

Weren't the Cybertrucks supposed to use an 800V architecture, and therefore be able to charge significantly quicker? The V4 Superchargers are still ~400V, correct? I feel like I have heard rumors that the Cybertruck has a system for increasing the 400V Supercharger output to the 800V it needs. Are the Cybertrucks going to be able to charge at 800V from Superchargers at some point?

Non-Tesla Supercharger connectors should be a 4' cable, with connector on both ends, to stop taking two stalls, until their EV's can be remodeled.

99 Dollars Canadian.... that is well 1200 a year and yeah I sign up just have to know how long I am committed to the sign up. The supervised version which is not full self driving.

FSD is GREAT ! Love it. Tesla should require viewing a short video in car video to activate FSD. Tesla needs to open more delivery / service / collision centers. You should not have to drive hours to get your car serviced or repaired after an accident. Northern Indiana is a Tesla desert with the only repair / collision centers being in Chicago. What a traffic nightmare. Tesla needs to plan out service centers like they plan out charging stations. You should only have to drive so far to get to one. You should not have to travel to the next state to get your vehicle repaired. I know Tesla is trying to make vehicles need less service but accidents happen. Tesla needs more repair / collision centers so you do not have to drive to the next state to get your vehicle repaired. Having a large, delivery, service, collision center in Northern Indiana would spread out the overall service area. Many people are reluctant to buy a vehicle from a company that has no dealers / delivery /collision or repair centers within a reasonable driving distance.

If a car other then Tesla chages and takes up two stalls another can pull in next to him and charge losing only one space. I'm thinking Tesla only, let's call them left charge and the others right charge, now all you need is markings/signs and you could maximize the chargers. 😮

To the driver of the Cyber truck driving through water in New Orleans… Thank you for driving slowly! I appreciate people that understand the importance of driving slow in deep water. Last year I spent almost $30,000 fixing my Tesla Model 3 that I got stuck in flood waters with because other drivers with big trucks thought it was cool to plow through deep water at 30 mph. No wake zones are important in flood conditions and 30 mph is way too fast in that situation!

Thanks for a great show. Your report of fords and rivians taking up two stalls to charge reminds me of my question/ idea. In a world where everyone is quite rightly trying desperately to increase charging speeds, why don’t they put two charging ports on each car so that they can charge different battery pack modules at the same time. Yes this means those cars would take up two chargers, but they would be finished charging in 1/2 the time, so the end result would be the same. They get on their way sooner and everybody is happy., as charging speeds are effectively doubled. This continues to be a benefit even as charging speeds continue to increase. So why not?

A large portion of the time the limit of the charging speed is because the individual battery cells can’t take the charge any faster without being damaged. So the limit is not the physical infrastructure but the battery cells, hence having double the charging capability will nowhere near ½ the charging time at superchargers. However when you are charging at home and if you had two charge points fed from separate circuits on your switchboard, then you could halve the charge time (the car would need a second built-in charger as well as a second charge port).

You guys doing anything special for Number 400? Retrospect of all shows, or the Story of Tesla's journey from starting until today?

I think you need about 500 miles of actual range to match the experience of gas. We don't run them empty or fill them fully while on road trips. So to get 300 actual miles per stint, which is what I'm used to, you need extra room on both ends.

My MB E63 and BMW M3 would only get about 175 miles of range each ... is that your idea of "the gas experience?" Driving from Dallas to Houston would cost well over $75, whereas in my Tesla M3, it was $7 ... again, is that the good part of the "gas experience?" The required service/maintenance of my M3 just cost me $11,000, both of my Tesla's combined for three years ... $40. What part of the gas experience is supposed to be good?

You say the price for FSD will go up. Not so fast. Remember that Elon's original intent for the $25k car was no pedals or steering wheel? What would that mean had not his staff talked him out of it? It would mean that you got the car for $25k including FSD or there would have been no way to drive it. Or the car would have to be priced at $13k with FSD staying at $12k.

Still no free FSD trial for me

It's great Tesla can deploy charging stations faster with the prefab units but most of the time is still finding a host, design and permitting, and getting the Utility xfmr and connection done. Should reduce Tesla's cost though.

FSD often has problems that require human intervention. If a problem happened during the ride to the hospital, that poor man could have *perished* .

The only interventions I’ve had lately are simple acceleration nudges at 🛑 because it waits a little too long to move when no other vehicles are detected in motion. It’s a human patience problem. I inevitably have someone behind me so I don’t let it do it on its own.

@@dennisschlieckau8723 If you only drive on easy routes, then FSD does quite well. A busy big city, or night driving, or in the rain, and FSD needs lots of help from the human *babysitter* .

I have mcu1 and subscribed to fsd11.

I'm sure X complies with Chinese "Laws and regulations". LOL

Chile is a little more south but the most southern road is in Argentina.
